I've been using McClintock for service calls for 10 years. They installed a gaspack for my upstairs in about 2011 and I've never had any problems with it. They did the same job then as I'm about to explain below for the work they did for me Dec 2015. They have never overcharged me, and have never done work that did not need to be done. For the new gaspack, McClintock was very clear about the work to be done and the cost. They required 50% payment up front. Offered financing option (I declined). They arrived on time on day scheduled, and completed installation same day. They removed and hauled off old equipment. Installed new equipment. For the most part they worked on their own and did not bother me with lots of questions. No debris/trash left. It looked like they were never there except that the new system was installed. They installed new thermostat, and explained how it worked, and the new features that I could use if I wanted. They explained that that Union county, NC would do the inspection in a few days and helped me schedule that, and that the remaining payment would be due after passing inspecition, which it did the first time. They gave me 2 CO monitors and explained that they needed to be installed (plugged in) when inspector came. Finally, they notified me that they were adjusting my annual service cost. The installation of the new gaspack meant that I would not need to pay the annual service cost for another year. I would not have thought about that otherwise. *** UPDATE JAN 11 2016 *** Today around 3pm, the thermostat for my new Trane gaspack wasn't working. It was totally dark, nothing being displayed. I called McClintock and explained the situation. Within about one hour they sent one of their servicemen, Kevin, to check things out. When he arrived, I explained what the symptoms were. Within about 20 minutes Kevin found the problem. It was nothing more than some cut insulation exposed a wire, had shorted and blown the circuit breaker. As the gaspack was under warranty, there was no charge. No argue, no excuse. Just fixed it, checked it, and left. Excellent service.

We have used McClintock for a number of year and are always very pleased with everything about them. We found them originally on Angie's List. Steve was the technician today -- very nice man who clearly is a "people person."

Our service man (Chris Abernethy) arrived shortly after a call from their home office. He was very personable and immediately began working on the indoors (attic) furnace. Upon completion of the attic he went outdoors and began on that furnace. Upon completion of that furnace he provided an online summary and description of his work and explained what he had done and made recommendations for the future. His explanation was complete and to a level understandable. It had rained the night before, but he kept our home clean and respected our property. The fee includes a return in 6 months to service our air conditioners, too. I would certainly recommend McClintock to anyone.

Randy, the Comfort Consultant, was easy to scheduled, punctual and very careful to protect my carpets from the dust in the attic. He is highly experienced and knowledgeable and did an excellent job explaining the benefits of each option that he was planning to quote. He proposed modifications to the existing duct system to improve airflow. All my technical questions were answered patiently and everything made sense. He also verified the current equipment capacity with a load calculation. I received the complete quote via email the same evening. The next days he promptly answered follow-up questions. HVAC parts are covered by the manufacturer warranty (Trane) but McClintock included the longest warranty of all competitors for labor. Based on Randy's explanations about the company and its staff I am confident that they would have done a great job, had I gone with them. I ultimately decided against the Trane product because their smallest available furnace was still a little over-sized for my house and the extra cost for industry leading equipment, long warranty and premium service would not have amortized since I am planning to move out of the home within the next 3 years.

McClintok Heating and Cooling did a GREAT job. Everything from the quote, to scheduling, to the installation was extremely professional. In reviewing the installation they fixed things not none correctly by our builder (even replaced loose floorboards in the upstairs?.way beyond the call of duty). Because I had asked them to redo the condensation lines and add a filter cabinet? they were pressed to finish in two days? Instead of taking another day, they called in additional help to finish the job in two days! Would recommend McClintok to anyone needing HVAC service or installation.

Tommy was very professional. He put shoe covers on before entering the house. He answered all our questions and took care of our problem right away.

We chose McClintock because of their excellent customer service rating and longer warranty on labor compared with the quotes we got from competitors. They were maybe 3% higher than their most comparable competitor, but with the extra warranty time they still offered more for the money. They were punctual, polite, thorough and exact in everything they did. The inspector said he'd be in and out in three minutes when he heard who had done the installation, and he was! Their reputation in the community speaks for them, and in HVAC, Consumer Reports says that the installation is much more important than the brand name on the unit. We will continue to use McClintock and to recommend them everywhere we go!

Top notch! Chris was on time, pleasant, and knowledgeable. He was very careful while doing his work and respectful of our home He explained what he was going to do; what he did; made recommendations and gave us the information that was relevant to his recommendations; and, gladly answered all of our questions so that we could understand his answers. He also volunteered information that will help us make future A/C decisions. Chris cleaned up after he was done so that you didn't know that he'd been there.

Quickly responded to call for estimate of new system. Mike did a great job explaining the system and options and the installation process. I was interviewing different brands and companies. He responded regardless of company I should still consider the Trane system. This impressed me as he was committed to the brand and not just to a sale. He also asked if he could call me in a few days to follow up. After talking with several companies,I went with McClintock based on Trane and McClintock reviews and, a fair price. The price of about $11500 included a duel fuel 4 ton system, with 15 SEER AC unit, whole house filter, touchscreen thermostat, quality check one month after installation by another tech and a free six month check of system in AC mode. It took longer to schedule the installation than I expected. The installation techs were quiet, polite and very unobtrusive. Mike, the company owner, and the project manager all stopped by during the installation. Installation took a about two days. They arrived when they stated and left around 5 or so. The office called to schedule the one month check. I received an email instructing me to schedule the six month summer check. I went to the website and was able to schedule an appointment; however, the earliest that I could get was 6 weeks later than I expected. Since the six month check is included with the installation price I expected to have the check at 6 months not 7 and a half. It would be better if they separated out the new installations to keep them closer to the installation timeline and out of the scheduling of all maintenance. Overall I would use them again and make the same choices. I highly recommend them.

I have been using this company for about 9 years now and they have always done a great job. I have asthma so I have to be very careful with using any kind of chemicals on my air handler. McClintock has worked with me to set up a specific protocol to keep me safe. I don't know any other company that would do that, believe me I have tried to find one in the past. I have recommended them several times and have always felt comfortable doing so. The above price reflects a 1 year contract which includes 1 winter service and one spring service which is a great deal! Thanks McClintock!

Called at 3:30 on a Friday afternoon, and they had someone (Kevin) to the house by 5pm! Kevin had me walk through everything with him so I knew what he was doing and why he was coming to his conclusion. This surprised me as most repairmen in general seem to dislike this, but he suggested it! When he arrived, it was clear that the AC was not working, but it came back on while he was here. He still checked all the equipment and explained that he believed it must have been the fan motor on the outside unit, but given that it was working now and that it was fairly expensive to replace, he did not want to suggest that we replace it without knowing for sure. He checked the freon and drainage pipes and made sure everything else was in order and that the house was starting to cool at the expected rate. He walked me through what to do if it happened again to help confirm the issue was the fan, and let me know that I could call their on-call person over the weekend if needed. Prior to paying him for the service call, he wanted to make sure I knew there was a coupon available that I could use as well. While nothing was actually fixed, he gave me peace of mind and let me know what to keep an eye on. McClintock will be called for sure the next time I need HVAC help. Thanks for your help Kevin!

All HVAC crew members were very professional, courteous, and helpful if questions rose from me. In addition, all were noticeably very “hard working” with a special commendation to both “Tyler" and "Ryan".

The dispatcher call us and indicated the technician, Chris was in route. He arrived at about the scheduled time (with his donned booties) Since I was home that day, I asked him if he minded me following him around. Chris was extremely gracious and seemed to appreciate the company. He started by asking about any problems or issues. I indicated that we had two "hot" rooms but the AC worked fine overall (apart from the high electricity bills) . He surveyed the "hot" rooms and made a couple of suggestions about reorienting a few vents. We went to the attic and he closed off a few dampers at the manifold that I had previously closed off at the vent (better efficiency). Through all this Chris essentially gave me a HVAC tutorial in a very professional manner. He assessed the inside coils and heat exchangers. He determined that one of the blower fan running capacitors was operating outside normal specifications. He suggested I replace the cap which I approved for $137. He determined that other unit's cap was marginal but I had him leave it as is. Once we completed the inside work, we went outside. He cleaned the outside coils with an acid solution. Since it had been 3 years, it was obvious both were quite dirty and was affecting efficiency. He then checked the electronics and determined one of the dual caps was close to the margin. I did not have him replace it. He checked overall temperature and pressures. Both units required about a 1 lb of refrigerant (I recall about $120. Throughout the entire diagnosis and maintenance, Chris fully explained why and what he was doing. I would gladly recommend McClintock HVAC. Michael Hubbard

Technician called about 20 minutes prior to arrival to inform me he was on his way. He arrived on time and began inspection on outside. Inside house he wore paper booties. He checked and cleaned my permanent electrostatic filters in both my returns.I have 2 other properties in Charlotte and I have annual maintenance contracts on those also. I had have contracts for a number of years. I've been very happy with their service and professionalism.

Having used this company before, we were confident of an excellent result and that's what we got. Actual installation was preceded by a company manager who specializes in planning for the job and making sure everything is considered before the work begins. We were told it would be a two day job. On the scheduled day, the crew showed up right on time and immediately went to work. By the time they left that afternoon, the unit was working. They had to return the next morning to take care of cosmetic items, like installing the covering over the piping and that sort of thing. When they left, everything was in order and working exactly as promised. We wouldn't hesitate to enthusiastically recommend McClintock to anyone.

I have used this company for several years to clean and so forth, but when my A/C died I was more impressed than ever with them. Randy did the original estimate and he couldn't have been nicer. He was so patient with my questions! Simon and Tyler did the installation yesterday and today and it was so easy - they took care of everything, even the $200 credit from Duke energy. Their work was professional, they kept me in the loop at all times, and spent enough time teaching me the new thermostat that I can even work it from my phone App. Such nice people! I can't recommend this company enough!

It went very well as usual. I have been a customer for over 15 years. Their service has always been great. They are prompt, their technicians are knowledgeable, will answer any questions I have and will even suggest ways of saving money on my heating and cooling bills. McClintock has always done a good job for me. I could likely find someone who is a little bit cheaper, but the.quality of service is second to none.

Chris was very thorough and spent the time to walk me through all of the issues with the 14-year old systems, and made good suggestions to balance cost vs. performance. My units will be approaching the end of their useful lives in the coming years and he made good recommendations on how to approach that process, which will make it easier to do so. I'll be talking with McClintock about that when the time comes. Very professional.
