Description of Work: Built the fence exactly as I specified. Looks great. Nuff said!

Description of Work: We had Matthews Fencing install a new wood fence to replace and older damaged wood fence. The fence was a combination of privacy on 2 sides and picket on one side on a mid-sized lot. | |Our experience was a mix of good and bad... | |The good - In the end the fence looks good, seems reasonably sturdy and does a good job of following the contour of our land to keep our dogs from digging out. For a crew of only two men and hot weather conditions, the work was done at a fairly fast pace. The price was reasonable for the end product (not the process). | |The bad - The process was difficult at many points in the fence's installation. The main issues started when the first batch of wood was delivered. The wood was sub-par with several defective pieces. We don't believe this was directly the doing of Matthews Fencing but their supplier did a poor job of selecting good pieces of wood to work with and the installers should have been able to recognize the issue before it was delivered to our home. If we hadn't said anything, the workers would have ignored the issue and installed a significant amount of irregular wood. We were able to resolve the issue, but it delayed our work by a few days. At certain points had concerns with the work being done and tried to resolve the issues before the workers got too far in the process, but they did not want to hear our concerns and insisted that we wait till the fence was complete before assessing the work. In the end, the work included a decent amount of sloppiness. To resolve the issues we met with a man that we believe may not be the usual person to deal with clients as we were told the usual person was on vacation. He did not seem to respect our concerns that components of the fence were either cracked, crooked or missing. Eventually, we were able to get most of the issues resolved but we felt like they were things that easily could have been done better without our inspection and efforts to get a good end product. Simply put, the process never needed to be that difficult. | |Lastly... They wanted to come to our house to do some of the "fixes" on a day that we knew we would not be home. We told them that we would like to be at the house while any work is being done and asked them to come the next business day. We thought we were clear about this but they came to our house while we weren't there anyway (against our wishes). We feel this was unprofessional and unreasonable, especially when we were so flexible with every other day of the week. When we reviewed the work that was done while we were gone, we once again felt that there was a lack of attention to detail and they ended up having to come out the next business day anyway.

Description of Work: Fence was installed as we requested and when an error was discovered with the position of the front gate it was corrected without any push back.

Description of Work: I called Matthews Fence and Supply Co to come out for an estimate for fencing in the backyard of our house which is currently under construction. Theresa was able to come out the next day and meet me to measure and give me advice and quotes. She measured a very wooded backyard and made some great recommendations. She gave me a quote the next day via email with everything written down for two different fence styles. Her quote was almost the least expensive and when I asked for a cash/check discount she was able to match the other competitor's cash/check lowest price so I will go with Matthews Fence when we move into the new house.

Description of Work: THEY INSTALLED A CHAIN LINK FENCE ACROSS THE BACK OF MY YARD AND AROUND A GARDEN AREA WHICH INCLUDED 2 GATES. THEY USED MATERIALS I HAD BOUGHT SEVERAL YEARS AGO.

Description of Work: THIS COMPANY PROVIDED AN EXCELLENT PRESENTATION AND THE REPRESENTATIVE, MS. GRIFFIN, WAS VERY PERSONABLE. THEY SEEMED TO BE ABLE TO PROVIDE QUALITY WORKMANSHIP AT A REASONABLE PRICE. THE QUOTE PROVIDED WAS FOR 206 FT. OF PRIVACY FENCE AT A HEIGHT OF 6 FT.
