Description of Work: I called Larry Helms Floor Sanding & Finishing to come out & look at a Bruce wooden floor to see if it could be refinished. They were responsive & professional. The floor could not be refinished but they told me what the options were. I have not made a decision yet on what to do to the floor but I will use them if I decide to go with wood replacement.

They were reasonably priced and about the same as the other quotes that we got. It's a family owned company and they are from around here.

 + -1 moreI had a very good experience with them. They were prompt in coming to look at the floors and they met the schedule deadlines that I had. I wanted to do the floors while we were out of town and they were very accommodating to make it work with our schedule. I felt the quality of the work was very good. I don’t think they are probably the cheapest but I felt like I got what I paid for; I think it was a good value. They don’t move the furniture back in place once they are done so you need to make arrangements to get your furniture placed back in the rooms. They took out the washer and dryer for me but I think they were just being nice to me.

Description of Work: I had an appointment with these folks to come give us an estimate to refinish floors in our 2000 sq foot house. I waited for 35 minutes and they had not arrived or called. I then called them to complain that no one had called me about being late, and that so far, I was not impressed with their customer service. With absolutely no apology or attempt to "smooth things over" with me, I was told (direct quote) by Pat Helms: "We've been in business for 20 years. Do you think we care about your piddly job?" Direct quote. We then called Birmingham Flooring and have had a great experience with them.

THEY RIPPED OUT SOME TRIM AND THREW IT AWAY. IT WOULD BE $200 EXTRA TO REDO THE TRIM. WE WORKED IT OUT AND I''M HAPPY WITH THE JOB BUT I HATE SURPRISES LIKE THIS!
