Helms Heating & Air Conditioning

I am not a customer of Helms Heating & Air Conditioning Inc; I am their victim. I live in a condo in Lake Park, the HVAC unit in the condo above me was replaced by them. When they replaced it they messed up the drain line (which runs through the wall to a communal drainpipe in the wall behind my pantry.) Because they did not bother to check where the drainpipe upstairs went, they cut the pipe too short and my condo hallway was flooded, and my wood flooring damaged. I reported this to the owner of the unit, and they sent Helms to check it out. They paid to have my flooring replaced ($625) and fixed the drainpipe. About a week after that I noticed water leaking again and subsequently found out that the drainpipe coming out of my HVAC unit was snapped off. I believe that happened when they came in to fix the drainpipe for the unit above. I called Helms, they looked and determined that it was not their fault. I then called my own HVAC company which I have used for 20 years and they said it probably happened when Helms made the fix. They also determined that the best way to fix this problem and have some type of warranty was to replace the air handler. I did this and paid the $5700. I then sent the information to Helms and thought they should at least split the cost with me since my HVAC unit had been inspected the day before this whole series of events started. Chris Helms called me and basically said they felt they had no responsibility for the cost to fix my HVAC. Bottomline beware of doing business with Helms Heating & Air Conditioning Inc, their installers do a less than professional job, and they don’t stand behind their work.

Austin was very professional and knowledgeable. He arrived on time and finished the service in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend Helms heating and air to my friends and family.

Technician arrived on schedule. Performed tests and provided understandable feedback. Office staff and technician both professional, courteous and answered our questions.

Technician Jhovani was on time to perform the service and was courteous, thorough, and professional. He was willing to patiently answer any question I had. Same for Dion, who had provided the initial estimate and helped me understand what was needed and what was not. Both men were easy to deal with, quite responsive. I had spoken to Amy about the arrangements for the visit. Her professionalism and demeanor were in pleasant contrast to a less skilled office mgr of another company I had spoken with before contacting Helms. She knows how to deal with a customer, follows up well, knows her business. Final price was as estimated and agreed upon, no surprises. Recommending Helms is an easy task...good folks over there.

I had been impressed with the knowledge and experience of the technician, Greg S., when I had used Helms Heating and Air Conditioning previously. So I chose this company to provide me with the annual maintenance service contract/program that I desired. I also requested by name Greg S. who I had had prior experience in dealing with.

A builder had Helms install my heating and Air . They did a poor job across the board as a company. I had another company to evaluated my return air flow duct work. This company could not believe how bad the installation was completed. My warranty with Vendor "Carrier" will be voided if they find out the my units does not meet there requirements. Majority of my neighbors all have issue with this company overall, so please do your research and stay far away from this company.

Gary and his assistant Jovanni were very thorough, professional and courteous.

Installers = everyone showed up on time. Very nice. Finished on time. Sales team = gave us options that fulfilled diff price points.

The installation went well and the guys are courteous and professional. They took the time to answer any questions I had. Also, I had very little clean up to do. Within 7 days later the code inspection was approved by the county. A superb job!

The Helms staff was great! They immediately scheduled an appointment. The technician was very polite and professional. He explained the problem and how to resolve it. Due to having faulty manufacturer parts, it took several visits to resolve the issue. Despite being warranty work, they treated me as top priority. Their service was exceptional. They acted with honesty and integrity. I would recommend them to all.

Helms installed a new CARRIER SYSTEM {Compressor, Air Circulatory Unit, & Gas Furnace} in the Spring of this year. Their price was very competitive and they did a neat installation job. One year system checks were included in the installation cost.

Great. Technician arrived on time and kept us updated throughout the process. Because it was a lightning strike he had to check everything and even ran out for parts during the day. Completely professional and did an amazing job.

I don't like posting negative reviews, but I feel I have to in this case. My house was built in 1998 and the AC was installed by Helms. It has been a constant source of pain, within a couple of years of its installation to this very day in 2016. Within a couple of years, I had to have the freon replaced every year for several years. Another HVAC company looked at it, and sealed several leaks. I had to replace the original condenser within 7 years even with regular maintenance. (My second unit is still running 11 years later.). over the past 5 years, I have developed water stains all over the main floor of my home. Come to discover that they installed uninsulated duct work, which will drip water when humidity meets it. Now I have to spend thousands of dollars to get this replaced and ceiling and repaired. Called owner Chris Helms. He claims that uninsulated ductwork was code at that time and that I have something allowing moisture into my home. Tough luck, he said. Every other HVAC guy that looked at it can't be live they did this. Well, neither do I. Don't go near this POS place!

Technicians were on time, were careful to protect floors, rugs from outside debris. Cleaned up insulation that dropped from attic. Professional team. Recommend them highly. O % financing offered.
