Outstanding! Jason arrived promptly and respected my property by removing his shoes while indoors and laid down cloth to protect my floors. He cleaned up everything once he finished and left my house as he found it. Bonus....an electrician from a different company previously told me that one of my light fixtures attached to a fan would need to be re-built or replaced. I asked Jason to take a look and he quickly identified the problem and fixed it. Turns out a little switch on the socket had been turned off; I didn't need a re-build or replace after all. Jason saved me quite a bit of money and time and scored a few points. John has also worked at my house replacing an exterior ceiling fan on the porch - same great service and respect! Ashley handled the scheduling and she is friendly and pleasant to speak with. My schedule is a little tricky at times and she worked diligently to schedule Jason and John when it worked best for me. By far the best electrical company I've worked with; I highly recommend!

The technician called me ahead of time to let me know when he would arrive. He was courteous, efficient, and did a great job.

Despite a complete and thorough inspection, he could not find an issue related to the interior wiring that was causing an issue. - He recommended calling Duke power, which we did, and they eventually found the source of the problem on one of their power poles.

Fine. Electrician was on time, honored my Angie's List coupon as they stated they would (nice work at their front scheduling office - those ladies are fantastic) and did the job well with a smile. He did have to leave and go to Lowe's for a part he didn't have which I thought was odd (should've had the part for such a simple task) but he came right back and I wasn't billed for the time. You guys rock!

Receptacle installed was bad; another electrician checked it for us with a plug in tester. Technician did not have staples to attach the new wiring under the house. I called in 2 days and he did come out and staple this up in our crawl space, although to our surprise it looked like the staples were hammered in instead of using a staple gun. The "D" for responsiveness, is for their answers to questions/concerns.

Originally, we called to get an electrician to come out to halt the chirping noise coming from one or several wired-in smoke detectors. Gowdy quoted us a per hour cost. Since we didn't think solving this problem would take an hour, we looked around after the appointment was made for some other electrical services we could have done. My wife decided to replace the ceiling fan in our bedroom. We subsequently called back to make sure this would be all right. We were told that would require a separate appointment, so we attempted to switch our service call from solving the chirping problem to replacing the fan. The service call was originally scheduled to arrive between 3 and 5 o'clock. In our last call to them, they asked whether we wanted to proceed with the service call from 2 - 4 o'clock (which was not the time they originally scheduled us for) and we said "no", that we wanted it at the originally scheduled time. About an hour before the service man was scheduled to arrive, Gowdy Electric sent us an email telling us that we are too difficult to deal with and that they are cancelling the service call. The next day I went up to our local Lowe's store where we bought the ceiling fan, and scheduled an appointment with one of their contractors to install the fan for $90 (cheaper than the price quoted by Gowdy). I also mentioned the problem I was having with my wired-in smoke detectors, and the Lowe's employee told me what to check for and how to fix it. I found the problem and fixed it in less than 5 minutes.

Technician was very friendly and on time. He took the time to show me what he was fixing and gave me advice on how to prevent future problems. I had a few minutes left in my hour (purchased a deal) and he looked at some outlets that weren't working and found the problem. Great work done at a great price. Will be calling this company again soon to install a couple of light fixtures.

They were very good with communicating when the technician would arrive. He was punctual, knowledgeable, and professional.

Wonderful experience. Ken are doing on time and went right to work changing out several worn out switches and some minor re-wiring. Great customer service - Ken did not have a part that he needed so he went to Lowes, was back in 15 minutes and completed the work. I would recommend Gowdy for your electric needs.

Terrible. They sent somebody out and they was suppose to give me an estimate and then take two weeks to give me an estimate. I kept calling and then they are going to tell me that they can't do the job. The thing that I bought was for them to check to see what was wrong and the first hour worth of work, they did none of it, they did no work. They sent the guy in here, he checked the sockets and left. He said he would see what the problem is and then told me how he would fix it and then send me an estimate on how much it was going to cost to fix it and he never got back to me. I had to hire somebody else to do it.

Chad came out to assess the situation and give an estimate. He was very professional and detailed. Mike arrived on time as expected to put the recessed lights in. He first looked at what we wanted, made a few "great" suggestions, and made sure he understood what we wanted. The position of the recessed lights was marked. Before cutting, Mike explained what cuts he needed to make to run the wires, and where the switches would be placed. He was very conscious in keeping things clean as he worked. When Mike was finished, he made sure the dimmers were adjusted to how we wanted them and that we were satisfied. When the drywall/painter came to repair the few small holes, he was very surprised and impressed how little drywall there was to do. He couldn't say enough on how well the person did with putting in the recessed lights.

The wiring was hot all the way into the dryer. So, it was diagnosed to be a dryer problem. They hooked up the cord wrong. I paid $125. I paid for an hour of work and he just left. There were other things they could have done. We had a fan here to hook up. He could have gotten that up in a half hour. He didn't even ask. I had him check something else out too. When you buy a foreclosure, anything could be wrong. So, I had him check out the fan in the hood, which is over the stove. He told me that I just need to replace a part. He was here for half hour. He really ought to come back and put our fan up. That's what I think. He diagnosed the problem well, but I only got a half hour for the hour that I paid for. He knew what he was doing. He came between 11 and 1, like he said he would. He could have given me my whole hour worth that I paid for.

As I remember they did quite a good job. I was quite satisfied.

BEWARE. Nice on the phone, emailed appointment confirmation electrician on time. Quote promised in 1-3 business days, not received due to email address mistake (? they had emailed the confirmation). I had to call them back for the quote and to ask them to come put back an exterior receptacle they had removed to troubleshoot and left exposed in a wet location.. Apologies all around and finally the quote. Recommended a rewiring job and replacement of several exterior lighting fixtures which we subsequently determined needed only bulb replacement. Rewiring recommendation was legit though. We are relieved that we paid only $145 for troubleshooting -Angies List special rate- and avoided several hundred dollars of unnecessary fixture replacement.

He did a good job and the fan and light fixture work well.
