The service technician was very professional, on time, and even called when he was on his way. The office staff was very helpful and was very wiling to make sure my needs were met. They were able to get out there right away. They even checked out my light in bathroom that another contractor had come in and screwed up for no charge. I read the reviews below and noticed others complaining about the service fee, I had called and inquired about it, and they explained it to me. I understand the fee that most companies have to charge, gas prices are high, especially when these guys are running all across town to provide us a service. I used these guys, and I was very pleased with their work and very willing to pay the fee. I see individuals below complaining about a $50 service charge, when the last company I called on Angie's list was charging me a $85 service charge. Their service tech Chad was very knowledgeable, and very professional and I would definitely use these guys again.

I used them two to three weeks ago. I was not satisfied with their services. They were hired to rewire the garbage disposal. There was also some wiring for the dishwasher. I didn't think he was very professional. He was covered in tattoos. He was wearing his ball cap backwards. Maybe it is just my personal preference. He did not show up on the job when promised which put the plumber's work behind. He did apologize, but it was aggravating.

I Need to stress that NO work will be performed by this company on the property(ies); in need of upgrade. The problem here is below. Spoke to the company rep, Katrina, and established an appointment for an estimate for work that we needed to have completed. Approx 8 hours later, I received a phone call from Katrina informing me there is a $50 fee (non-refundable) for estimates; mostly due to gas prices, with a secondary fee due to, well . . . . I am not quite certain of the reasons. Well, I will not be selecting this company for the following reasons: 1) A $50 fee just for an estimate? I was told this was due to gas prices. OK, that is a valid argument these days; however, I own a Toyota Tacoma that gets 19 MPG. A $50 stipend will allow me to drive to Savannah, GA. 2) Again on the MPG, Are they sending a crane to perform the estimate? Hmmmm . . . . 3) Perhaps, if gas prices are so high and are impacting the company's bottom line, make the estimate charge refundable if the job was accepted. Anyway, I am going to nix this. And the irony of this denial, is that I am also in Matthews.

After 3 days they hadn't called--no big deal, I'll call them. I left a message and got a call back the very same day. Not bad! She even apologized for not calling back right away, which definitely wasn't necessary as she did call back within about 3-4 hours of my message. She was extremely nice, and we were able to set up an appointment within a week. However, that's when she informed me there would also be a $50 travel charge. When I questioned this, I was told it was because gas prices have gone up so much. (They're in Matthews, I'm in south Charlotte. That's about a 10-15 minute drive. MAYBE 1 gallon each way, for a big truck.) So I paid $79 for 2 hours of service (admittedly a GREAT deal, which is why I bought it), now all of a sudden that's gone up to $129 for 2 hours of service, which definitely was not mentioned. And this from a company that advertises free estimates. So you'll drive out to give me a free estimate, but not to do the actual work? I couldn't help but feel taken advantage of, told her they need to add the travel fee to the fine print, and to please cancel my order. I'll be asking Angie's List for a refund. Whether or not $129 for 2 hours worth of electrical work is still a good deal is not the point. It's the principle that I'm not going to give my business to a company who seems to practice the ol' bait and switch. Admittedly, I can't rate them on the actual quality of their work. And based on the other reviews, it looks like they do pretty good work. However, they need to be much more up-front in their advertising and coupons, or I'm sure I won't be the only customer they lose.

Overall the service went very well.

I had emailed Gowdy Electric to get an estimate to replace a kitchen light fixture. I received a call from Katryna at Gowdy Electric the same day to set up an appointment for Mike to come out to assess the job. Mike came out and gave me an estimate and then he was able to replace the fixture the same day. He worked very quickly and professionally and cleaned up the area before he left. The price was very reasonable. I also asked for an estimate to install a new light fixture in another room. I received the estimate the next day.

They were on time, as helpful as can be and got the job done in a timely manner and for a very decent price. I would definitely use them again.

Each day that Gowdy Electric was scheduled to work, employees showed up at my property/worksite on time and prepared. Employees remained busy from start to finish, no time was wasted. Gowdy Electric was ahead of schedule for the rough and final inspections, both of which passed upon the first inspection for each. As always, I knew exactly what to expect from Gowdy Electric. The owner, Scot Gowdy, has very reasonable service charges; I am always comfortable with his estimates. My company's continued relationship with Gowdy Electric is very important to me. Having reliable, trustworthy people to count on in the construction field is key. I'm glad Gowdy Electric is on my side.

Ron gave me estimates on several electrical projects and then installed an outdoor outlet on my patio deck. He was very efficient and knowledgeable, and gave me the impression that I could trust him and his work. He didn't rush me, was patient with me and my 4 dogs,and I made an appt to have him do the other projects next week. I was very satisfied, and will recommend him to others!

Ron with Gowdy Electric was very professional and on time. He was very helpful and creative on how to get this work accomplished. I was very pleased that after he had left I did not have a mess to clean up, it was like no one had been there. What a GREAT experience with Gowdy Electric and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone who wants quality work.
