The man that was sent out was extremely polite and was very efficient. He made sure that I was pleased with his work and offered to refer me to someone for some other household projects that were beyond the scope of his work. Setting up the appointment was also very easy and they responded quickly. Overall a very easy project from start to finish. :)

I had an outstanding experience with this company. They stand by the work and the quality of the work that they do. The owner really goes the extra mile to correct any issues the customer may have. They were very quick to rectify any issues or concerns I may have had with them. They took my suggestions for future help.

Installation went great, aside from it starting and ending much later in the day than expected. Although the electrician had to arrive late due to another job running over, once he was there he did a great job and stayed well past quitting time to see it to completion. His total time on the job was less than estimated, so we had the pleasant surprise of paying less in the end than we expected. And he did a nice job patching up the holes from the prior light fixture, which another company said they wouldn't even do. Great customer service, and the lights look excellent. Will definitely use Gowdy again.

The young man was punctual and very efficient and professional. I added on the dimmer switch request at the last minute because I had been told in the past that those switches couldn't be changed. The Gowdy electrician was happy to make the switch and did so very quickly. I will definitely use Gowdy again and I recommend them to friends.

If you need electrical work, this is the only company I would consider using. I got 3 estimates for this job and Scott from Gowdy Electric was the only guy that not only asked me a lot of questions but helped me do everything in the most cost effective manner. He is the electrical work equivalent of that hard-to-find super honest and reasonably priced mechanic. Everything passed Mecklenburg County code enforcement the first time and, since I wasn't sure what equipment I may want to run in my shop in the future, he suggested and ultimately installed a panel that more than meets my current needs but will allow me to have more power run in the future without having to do any costly (and landscape destroying!) trench digging. I spoke with Katrina at their office a number of times and she is very nice and pleasant.

My experience was amazing from the first call requesting the service to the follow-up call after its completion. We purchased a coupon not having an idea of what the actual cost would be. The gentleman was ontime, courteous, diligent and an all around good guy. We have already shared our experience with friends. I cannot say enough. The could have easily taken advantage . We know nothing about electrical work. The problem in our attic...a cord was loose. Even my husband was happy.

Had another electrician who just couldn't install an over the counter light, but Gowdy did in 5 min. They are wonderful!!!!!

I called Gowdy Electric to replace 2 ceiling fans and 2 chandeliers. Yvette was very helpful and was able to get someone to come out within 2 days of my call. Mike showed up on time and was very professional. Scott arrived a few hours later to assist with the chandelier installation. Scott was kind enough to stop for a part which I did not have prior to arriving. He covered his shoes with booties before entering my home which for this particular circumstance was not necessary but the consideration was very much appreciated. Both Mike and Scott were kind, professional, courteous and patient. The install took longer than expected but Scott was fair with the rate and I was pleased with the work done. I plan on using them again in the near future for all of my electrical needs.

The electrician (Tim) that came to troubleshoot was great. He called in advance and was running ahead of schedule. He diligently went through his normal discovery procedures, which included spending 45 minutes in the attic space in the August heat. Since I have an older house, the solution was determined and, due to the lateness of the day, we have rescheduled his estimated time to return to complete the work. I was very pleased with the professionalism and efficiency provided with this service. I feel confident the final solution will be successful even though it will take longer than I hoped. Pricing was reasonable.

We were scheduled between 12 & 1pm, Chad phoned about 11:30 to say he would arrive in about 30 min, and he did. He was a very nice guy and entered the house with his booties on. I showed him where everything was and he started diagnosing the fan. He had that figured out and fixed in about 30 min. Now it was on to the 2 fluorescent light fixtures which turned out to be bad ballasts. Chad was there for about 1.5 hours and did a great job. I will definitely hire this company again.

I had previously removed the defective fan motor myself and ordered a new motor,but did not want to mess with the electricity since the remaining wire was 'live'. I called and contracted this company mainly because their office staff (Kathy) was very responsive to my predicament, where the other companies I called were not! She worked out an agreeable price, and scheduled John (one of the companies electricians) at a convenient date and time for me. When John arrived (on time) he was both professional and extremely accommodating. He discovered that the failure of the original motor was due to a fan blade that was bent . He then spent the next 30 minutes trying to balance the blade back to factory setting, but it was beyond repair. I drove John to my local Lowes where he selected a new fan and motor package, as just the blade was not available alone. Since I forgot to bring my wallet', he paid for it and simply added the exact cost to my final price! Upon returning to my house, he completed the replacement in 20 minutes!! The TOTAL cost was $45 LESS than quoted! Will I recommend this company, and specifically John again ? D*** right I will.

We had hired an electrical company from Angie's list and he came out replaced a ceiling fixture location but was unable to get the light fixture to work.....he was here 4 hours....finilly he said the light fixture itself was broken. Don't believing this I contacted another A rated contractor from Angie list Gowdy and he came on found the problem within 2 minutes the fixture was wired incorrectly....I will call Gowdy , again and again. Thank you

He was prompt, courteous, and professional. He even took time to help my son with an electrical game that stopped working.

I had a need for an electrician arise about 2:30 on a Saturday. I had never heard of Gowdy before but I started looking on Angies List for someone that works on Saturday. Mike was able to come by about 4:30. He did a great job assessing my problem, and gave me three different options to solve the problem. He did a great job fixing the problem and was by far one of the nicest service guys I have ever dealt with. Would absolutely recommend based on this experience.

I called for service after five p. m. on Memorial Day Friday. The company returned my call within minutes. The technician arrived before seven p. m., well within the promised 6:30 to 7:30 time frame. The technician identified the problem source as Duke Energy and initiated a service call. He took pains to make sure that I understood the nature of the problem and how to follow up with Duke Energy if necessary. The charge for after hours service on a holiday weekend was less than $80. Everyone associated with the company was courteous, efficient and professional. I will certainly remember them for future electrical service needs.

I had a perplexing problem with a GFI breaker following thunderstorm. Called my old "goto" electrician who told me to call the office and make an appointment. Called his office and no one answered. Went to Angie's List and found Gowdy highly rated. Called and got an appointment right away. Chad showed up early. I explained the symptoms of my problem. He went right to work investigating. He clearly explained his analysis, got my approval and went right to work. In a little more than an hour, Chad had completed the work and showed me the results. When he handed me the bill, I was very pleasantly surprised. Gowdy is my new "goto" electrician, and I hope I get Chad next time.
