After a negative experience with another company, I needed to move the outlet my dryer is plugged into, and I was considering buying one of the Big Deal coupons. I called them, and the guy who answered talked me through the work - even recommending that I receive a free estimate first to determine if the coupon was worth the money. He was right! Chad came out to do the estimate, and the total amount for materials and labor would be less than the coupon. Chad arranged a time to come back and do the work, and I was thrilled that it was within a few days of the original estimate. He came back when he said he would, did the work in about an hour, and charged me the exact amount on the estimate. He even offered tips to undo what had been done by the previous serviceman! Will definitely use again, particularly when I finally purchase some new light fixtures.

I was having a problem with the light bulbs burning out very fast in my office. I was thinking that it may be a fixture problem and that I will eventually have to replace it. Chad did a thorough inspection of the light fixture to see if there was any problem with it. He also examined the circuit breaker box and replaced one of the circuit breakers. He didn't find any problem with the fixture, so he replaced the light bulb. He even went out to buy me the appropriate light bulb for my ceiling fan light. I was very happy with his professionalism and the quality of his work. I will definitely use Gowdy Electric again in the future.

We have an old house, built in 1979, and the original receptacles weren't up to handling the additional power requirements of the day---computers, printers, and all of the other electronic gizmos that are so common to-day. The problem was especially bad in the room which my wife uses as an office. The current receptacles were shorting out or arcing. It finally got to the point where I was uncomfortable with the potential fire hazard. I found Gowdy Electric recommended highly on Angie's List and reviewed the comments by previous clients. That provided enough information for me to give them a shot. In brief, by my experience, Gowdy Electric lived up to its high rating. On my initial call, I was set up for a troubleshooter from Gowdy to arrive within a week. On the scheduled date, Mr. Sam Clement arrived and quickly identified what was needed after being appraised of the problem. Additionally, my wife tossed in a couple of "nice to have" requests, as well. As it developed, I opted to spread the work out over two Mondays, a week apart, as one of the "nice to have" problems threatened to be a time-consumer. One of the things I found pleasing about working with Gowdy is that I was able to have the services of Mr. Clement for all of the evolutions. One of my pet-peeves when dealing with service providers is getting a different technician on subsequent visits and having to explain everything all over, again. Mr. Clement was professional, knowledgeable, and persistent about getting the work done exactly right. He was also courteous and friendly; not as important as the first traits I mentioned, but are handy ones to put a home-owner at ease when a stranger is prowling through one's house. I confess to rolling my eyes a bit at the added list of "nice to have" things my wife tacked on, but in retrospect, she was wise to have done so. During his replacement and repairs, Mr.Clement identified an imminent fire hazard in one of those "nice to have" jobs that he was able to remove and correct. And that's the real bottom line---the peace of mind. We've been operating the same number of appliances and electronics since Mr. Clement performed his work, but now there are no dimming lights, no crackling and buzzing receptacles, and no short-circuits. The cost of the service was fairly adjudged and reasonable. Hopefully, I won't need the services of an electrician, again. But if I do, I'll be calling Gowdy Electric.

After I called in for a service, Scott called back promptly, with an estimate over the phone, and fixed the problem quickly. He is reliable, and great to work with. I will definitely hire Gowdy Electric again for my future electric repairs.

After a bad experience with another Angie's list electrician I called Gowdy Electric. Scott Gowdy was here within a couple days to gather info for quote to install switch gear for our back up generator. He was back within one day with the quote and four days to do the work. Very professional and great service. Will use again and recommend them for electrical work.

They were very puntual, easy to talk to, personable, and did a great job! I would definately recommend them to others. They were very easy to work with.

He did an awesome job. He was timely and he took the time to educate me on the process. He told me about what he was doing and what he was looking for. He gave me choices and cleaned up afterward. He was very friendly.

Gowdy Electrical was recommended by an acquaintance who's a general contractor and I was very pleased with their service. I needed new wiring to a dryer outlet and Scott quoted me a better price than I'd gotten elsewhere, then actually knocked $35 off the price when it was done because it was easier than he anticipated. (He didn't know I had an Angie's List account at that time, so he wasn't just angling for a good review.) Setting up the appointment was easy--the office staff were professional and responsive--and Scott arrived precisely on time, calling ahead to make sure I was ready. He explained what needed to be done clearly and didn't pressure me to do work that wasn't necessary. Highly recommended.

Gowdy Electric is extremely responsive and thoroughly considers the job before providing an estimate. The services were performed as scheduled and within an estimated time frame. Makes me happy to find an electrician who meets my expectations.

I have found them pleasant and fair to work with. I have scheduled work to take place in 1 week. I can offer another review of workmanship at that time. This is an expensive job and Gowdy does not work cheap. But I find them to be very fair minded and willing to discuss terms on price and financing.

Sam and Rodney came out. Sam finished up on the third and final day. They were super nice and professional. They did very clean work. Everything was explained thoroughly to me and they were very patient with any questions I had. They even were super nice to my very large dog. I would absolutely use them again since they definitely above and beyond. They had the best price by far as well.

Items were handled promptly and effectively. Electrician mishap was promptly addressed and rectified - no questions asked. HIgh quality responsiveness, professionalism, and execution.

I am very pleased with this company. They delivered on the two things that are most important to me. Saving money and quality workmanship. I saved money by purchasing the deal offered by Gowdy electric though Angie's list. The deal was for two hours of licensed, professional electrical labor. The quality of workmanship was deliverd by Tim and Yvette of Gowdy Electric.

We have had Chad at our home a number of times. He does a wonderful job every time including this visit. He and his company do a great job all the time.

Several electric providers were contacted from the list. Gowdy was the only to respond and I'm glad they did. Chad and his team have done an outstanding job. They are extremely professional as well as pleasant to work with. They removed the old overhead lights and replaced them with recessed lighting. They removed as well as installed several overhead fans. They installed an entry chandelier with a hydraulic lift that allows it to go up and down for easy cleaning and light replacement. They also installed exterior lighting to light the rear patio. I am very pleased with their work, Chad, and each member of his team.

It was good. I think the price is good but I don’t think it’s the best.

They did a great job and they work on Saturday's and Sunday's.
