Doug and his team were awesome. Doug came by and explained everything to me, his quote was prompt and he was quick to answer any and all of my questions. When the crew started they were quick, professional and very courteous. The porch went in quickly and everything was done to my satisfaction. I really am looking forward to using the space for many years to come.

Doug Lynch answered a random call from us last fall, after he was recommended to us by an electrician. We were discouraged at the time my husband, Chris made the call. We had a "dream porch" in mind and had just received a bid from another company that far exceeded our budget. Chris was immediately impressed with Doug and his promptness in answering questions we had regarding an alternate plan to build a porch. Doug took the time to meet with us, to look at our original plan and discuss alternatives to the plan. He was very timely in getting back with us with a new project drawing that we both loved. He was able to accommodate our budget and allowed us to have input in a few changes which resulted in a wonderful product. We signed a contract with Doug after refining a few details and securing a bid document with all details and products outlined. The contract defined the specific products to be used and had a price breakdown of each phase of the construction. Our project began approximately 5 months after we signed the contract. The wait to start construction was hard, but well worth it. The bulk of the project was completed in less than 5 weeks. Doug communicated with us almost everyday. We very much enjoyed all of the sub-contractors and trades people we meet during the process. We both love art and design and kept a close watch on the building process. The project workmanship we came home to each day after work was superior. There was always a clear line of communication between us and Exterior Additions. We are thrilled with the outcome of our new porch and fireplace; We highly recommend Doug Lynch and his team at Exterior Additions.

The project started out as a shed but ended up a well designed glass studio, thanks to Doug Lynch and his master carpenter, Mike. One problem with my original design was that I didn't realize how low the ceiling fan would be to my work table. Since I work with small piece of glass, frit and powders, this would have been a major problem. Doug and Mike talked about it once I communicated my concern, and Mike came up with the idea of raising the ceiling...which not only resolved my problem but looks terrific. That is an example of why it pays to work with the best. I sketched out my shelving design, and Doug added his knowledge of materials and support to enhance the design, then Mike the Master worked with me during the install to accommodate my sheets of glass sizing. It is an amazing work space that I love. Mike and Jason, his assistant, are highly skilled craftsmen...and they clean up after themselves and take care with my property. One recommendation in working with Doug's subcontractors for painting and electrical is to either go through Doug and include any additional work through him or request a written proposal for any additional work related to the job. My shelving looked so good when finished I decided to have them stained and was surprised by the amount of the charges, as I was surprised with some additional plugs and lighting charges from the electrician. That was my fault for not requesting cost estimates up front, lesson learned. The final product is a beautiful workspace which is well built and designed. I can't imagine it could have turned out so well with any other contractor.

From start to finish we were very pleased with Doug and all of the work done by Exterior Additions. They are truly experts in the porch business and came with very clear logical suggestions that resulted in exactly what we were hoping for. They were on schedule - even ahead, quick, friendly, adaptable, and produced a beautiful screened in porch with Eze Breeze "windows" along with an adjoining deck. We could not give them a higher recommendation!

I just love them. Doug is the owner. I've called him several times since asking for tips on how to clean it and what to do. He is great. He is very personable. He did everything he said he would do and everything was done on time. The crew was meticulous. They cleaned up after themselves. Everybody loved the product. I had a lot of compliments on the work he did. I highly recommend them for anybody that wants work to be done. He is always available and always returns calls. He has been very helpful. I would definitely use him again.

Doug and his sub-contractors were very professional and did high quality work from start to finish and cleaned up the worksite each day to keep the waste pile centralized. We are very happy with the outcome of the porch and Doug communicated well as to the progress of the porch and also provided me with some very useful suggestions in making selections for the porch.

Doug was extremely responsive from the first time we contacted him. His proposal was complete, detailed and his follow through was very timely. He worked hard to make sure the design fit what we had in mind and offered ideas and suggestions based on his vast experience on how to improve on our original plan. Doug?s team was professional and curious. They worked extremely efficiently and completed the tear down and build in one week! Actually they could have gone faster if the local inspectors were quicker to respond the inspection check points! The entire project took less than a month when including roofing, soffits, gutters, Eze-breeze installation and touch-up painting. This would have been even quicker had it not been for the holidays and cold weather (and waiting on inspectors mentioned above). Doug?s team was very accommodating to my specific electrical requests (additional lights and fans and flood-lighting) and worked with me on my low voltage wiring additions (speakers, security and surveillance). When researching contractors we met with several competitors but felt that Doug really listened to what we wanted and was quick to respond with fair pricing. In fact we watched two ?big-name? competitors add porches to neighbor?s homes and both took over 2-3 months from start to finish! Many neighbors have commented on how nice our porch looks, how quick it was completed and how clean the job site was. Our experience with Doug, his crew and his subs was fantastic. In my experience working with contractors Doug is at the top. We got exactly what we wanted and we are looking forward to enjoying our time on the porch! We highly endorse Doug and his company Exterior Additions.

It went very well. I got 3 estimates before choosing Exterior Additions. I chose them over another provider who quoted a lower price as the estimate was detailed & well thought out leaving me more confident that it would come in on plan & on cost. This proved to be correct. I had a few delays due to work being done over the holidays, but Doug & Jeramiah were both very good & proactive in letting me know what to expect, when they would be working, etc.I was happy with there attention to detail - when I called asking to correct a couple of minor details that were not quite to my expectations, Doug had already noticed those items and one more (it is rare for someone to have more attention to detail than me!). They took care of it all & made sure that I was satisfied. I had a great experience with Exterior Additions and am very happy with my new porch. I look forward to spring when I can spend more time on the porch! I would definately recommend them to others & have already done so to several neighbors who have been watching through my construction process.

Doug Lynch was recommended by a neighbor who had a porch built. She had nothing but praise for him and his crew. We did get 3 estimates but chose Doug due to his reputation, knowledge and presentation. Also he gave us a very fair price. The work went perfect from start to finish. The quality of the workmanship is excellent! Doug and his crew could not have been better to work with. Any questions or concerns were handled immediately and in a friendly manner. We have had countless compliments on our porch! I would highly recommend Exterior Additions!

When I contacted Exterior Additions Mr Lynch told me immediately when he could start my job. One of his staff came out and he and I discussed what, how, etc about the job. My job was small compared to the jobs this company usually does and Mr Lynch explained what my job would cost and asked if I would like to change my mind after explaining the cost. Not too much later I received a contract to look at with all the details concerning the work to be done. Everything was spelled out including when each payment was due. I liked the fact that Mr Lynch does e-mail so we could correspond. When the work would start, when each team was coming etc. He answered any and all my questions or concerns right away. The people he sent to do the various jobs were good to work with. I'm pleased with my screened in patio area, a job well done.

We wanted to replace our current deck with a completely new one that was enclosed. We got several solid quotes from reputable contractors and we decided to go with Exterior Additions in Indian Trail, NC. I'm happy to say that it was a very wise decision. Doug Lynch and his crew were absolutely amazing and the finished product greatly exceeded what I was hoping for. We knew that Doug had an exceptional reputation and this was quite evident throughout the whole process from design to build. Right from the start, Doug was very imforative and patient. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and was great to deal with. We took his advice on a couple of things and we are very happy we did. Like they say, leave it to the pro's. Doug was in contact with me almost every day giving me updates on the project and what they would be accomplishing for that particular week. The professionalism, skill and competence Doug and his crew exhibited was superior. They were very respectful and also were ready to answer any questions we had. They always cleaned up the area at the end of each day. It's not often something like this goes without a hiccup or two, but I cannot think of one issue or problem that was encountered. We are ecstatic at how our new deck looks and also that it was finished before we thought it would be. You can be sure that we will be recommending Exterior Additions to everyone we know and will have no problems using them again on any other projects.

We contacted Doug, from Exterior Additions to get an estimate for enlarging and screening our backyard deck. He was very responsive, and came out to assess the job within 2 days of calling. He had so many great ideas for us to consider and we seemed to be on the same page for the addition right from the start.. One of his suggestions was for Eze-Breeze windows, to keep out all the pollen in the spring and to keep the rain out. Doug returned a quote for the work the next day. I must say here that we had had contacted 3 other companies, all of whom came to look at the job and none of whom we ever heard from again. We were pleased with the quote and, although we knew there might be a few months delay to start the work because of Exterior Additions busy schedule, they were able to fit us early. Work on the project started about 3 weeks later. Mike and Jason, our construction crew, were very professional and courteous, as well as being skilled craftsmen. They cleaned up every night and showed up when they said they would. Doug was always available by phone or email to answer questions and came over often to check on the work. In 3 weeks, everything was done as promised. Because of the great suggestion for the Eze-Breeze windows, the deck actually turned out to be more of a room than a porch and we were all "moved in" and able to enjoy the space by Thanksgiving Day. We never dreamed a major project could go so smoothly and are completed satisfied with every step of the project. Thanks to Doug's input and ideas, it turned out even better that we had hoped. Our current plans include construction of a garage in the future and we wouldn't consider using anyone except for Exterior Additions.

They did a big addition on our house. In Angie's List, they have tons of positive reviews from this company. When we met with them, the options that they provided to us were exactly what we wanted, actually too much which we ended up going for. He was able to give us several individuals in the area that had similar builds that we were able to look at and it's extremely helpful in the decision. The quality of the build is exceptional, there's probably one or two others in the area that could do as good of a job but the quality of the build was excellent. The speed of the work was good, I don't know if it was excellent but it was definitely good. The thoroughness of the individual was excellent. Overall, satisfaction in the end part was good. It was 2 to 3 weeks including addition of a concrete pad. I spent a lot of money but everything else was so good. It was a learning experience for both the customer and the client in dealing with individuals that have a questioning attitude before the build begins.

From the first meeting with Doug, I felt comfortable about having his company perform the work. I got 6 bids for the work that are were all pretty comparable. We also have 2 friends that had Doug build their screen porches, so we were able to see first hand the finished product. Once we decided on EA, Doug worked with me the whole way to let me know what they would need, when they would start, when they should be finished, and at what installments I would pay them. It couldn't have gone smoother. They demo'd the existing decks and 2 days later they were done with most of the screen porch and 12x12 deck. We went with Trex for the flooring of the 12x12 deck. We also had them install the EzeBreeze windows on the screen porch, which we love already. They price above included all demolition, new materials, electrical, paint, EzeBreeze, lattice, aluminum pickets, and inspections. Doug and his company are very professional. I felt like I was working with a company, which to me was peace of mind. Nothing against some of the others we didn't go with, but honestly in a couple of cases it felt like I would be working with 2 guys and a hammer that would eventually get the job done. There's nothing wrong with that, but I wanted the peace of mind for the price I would be paying that I would have some dependable and reliable. Doug and his guys are just that. The job site was completely cleaned up after they finished and was kept clean throughout the job. Doug also stands by his work and is always a quick call away. I know this from what he told me and from what our friends have told us. In my opinion, you will not find a better company to go with for decks and porches. Thanks Doug and crew!

Doug and his crew exceeded my expectations in every way. The workmanship was fantastic and the communication during the build was better then I ever could expect. His crew was always on time and I was kept up to date on the progress on a daily basis. Once we decided to give Doug the job we were placed on a waiting list but it was worth the wait. I would not hesitate to use this company in the future. They truly made this a great experience!

We can only describe the work completed by Doug and his team as spectacular. The finished product produced by his team is outstanding! Doug and his site supervisor Brian we very clear through the entire planning and build out. The materials are very high quality, the craftsmanship of his team is outstanding and his contracting process very well thought out. Even with some complexity due to a retaining wall that required some changes and a need to remove a small roofed area on the back of our home, Brian was spot on in his estimates and recommendations. Everyone who has seen the deck leaves very impressed. Doug really knows his business, executes well, communicates well, and is highly service focused. I would count myself very detailed in reviewing the work done around our home. We had nothing for Doug to resolve after his team completed the work this past week. The crew we had was great, focused, hard working, and they did a phenomenal job of cleaning up our yard after each day they were here. The work was completed in about 3 weeks start to finish. I would only add two things.. If you need a deck or porch, call Doug. If you have the opportunity to work with Doug, please take his recommendations! This man knows how to provide a superior product.

After completing a cost analysis on www.ExteriorAdditions.com and saw a reasonable price I contacted Doug Lynch. We met and discussed my ideas and his suggestions to my ideas. After our meeting I knew that Doug knew what I wanted and he would be the right person for my project. That was three weeks ago and I have a beautiful multi-season porch. Doug kept daily communication with me during construction updating me on the next steps and what to expect. He and his team were such a pleasure to work with and to have at my home on a daily basis. Construction started on time and was completed within estimated time despite rainy weather. The crew was courteous,accommodating, and very professional. Doug made great recommendations for the deck layout that added space and made the area more useable. Best decision we made regarding our deck was going with Exterior Additions.

The only negative I can say about Doug and Exterior Additions, is that it's too bad they were not around during the biblical days to help Noah build his ark. I'm pretty confident Doug and his crew would have had that boat built in under 20 days and Noah would have been very impressed with the incredible detail and craftsmanship Exterior Additions brings to the table. I contacted Doug around the end of May and he got back to me almost immediately. I had read all of the reviews on Exterior Additions and was excited to see how Doug could help us out. I got three additional quotes from other Angie's List contractors and they were all close to each other on price, but Doug's demeanor and professionalism sealed the deal when it came time to choose a contractor. My wife and I had bought our house a couple of years ago and there was already an existing deck. However, the deck was old and we wanted to build something new and screen it in. I was a little unsure and overwhelmed as to where to begin, but Doug was awesome. He immediately put my wife and I at ease with various ideas and options in constructing our new porch. Since I like to cook and own a couple of grills, I asked Doug to construct an additional, but reasonably sized deck, to house the grills and he assured me that it would not be a problem and could look really good with the screened in porch. Doug also educated us on the EzeBreeze option and the benefits we could reap by using it if we went that route. Originally, we were not 100% sold on the EzeBreeze option and Doug did not push it at all. However, with spring in full bloom at the time and everything outside turning yellow, we quickly decided that the EzeBreeze was a no-brainer and I'm thrilled we did. Once we finalized all the details, Doug let us know that our project was about three months out and could take longer if the weather did not cooperate. Well sure enough, the great Charlotte flood started and I didn't expect to see Doug and his crew until January. Fortunately, the weather turned and Brian and his crew we're ready to start at the end of August. Brian, Manny and crew were exceptional from the very beginning. They showed up on time every day, communicated regularly and always kept everything very clean in the back of the house when they were finished for the day. I was amazed how quickly Brian and his crew tore out the old deck and constructed the new deck. More importantly and the thing I am impressed with most, is the craftsmanship used in building our deck. From the columns, to the framed lattice, to the "eye catching" gabled roof...they didn't cut any corners in the design and materials used. Additionally, I would be amiss if I did not give credit to Doug's painter Carlos and the electrician Steve. They were both outstanding in the job they did and very much inline with the same professionalism Doug displays on a day to day basis. Overall, I would recommend Doug and Exterior Additions all day long. My wife and I did not have any idea what to expect from this project and it couldn't have gone any better. Doug was involved from the very beginning and all the way to the end. The project was finished in less than 25 days and I couldn't be any happier with the end result.

I contacted Doug Lynch in early September to discuss turning our screened porch into a 3-season room but after some discussion determine it to be too costly due to new changes to the building code. Doug then suggested we look at the Eze-Breeze product and came to show us a demo model of the screen/vinyl window system. Once we decided the product would meet our needs, Doug had a quote to us within a couple of days. Doug explained they were currently scheduling jobs for 1st quarter of 2014 but with a job like this he could fit it around existing work. We returned the signed contract and within days Doug had scheduled demolition and measuring for the Eze-Breeze system. (They measure for this product after demolition and any required framing work because once its ordered with the dimensions, you bought it.) Doug's crew showed up on the scheduled day and removed our old screens and screened door and framed the porch for measuring. Doug ordered the Eze-Breeze system and gave us a date for delivery saying they would install it the day after arrival. The painters showed up 2 days later and completed the painting. The product arrived as scheduled and Doug and another man were here to install the system the next day. The product looks really good and is easy to operate and clean. Repairs to the vinyl windows if required (happens infrequently according to Doug's experience) can be done while you wait at his facility in Indian Trail. The product consists of aluminum frames, aluminum framed10 mil vinyl sliding windows and screening that enclose the entire porch with a door to match. Exterior Additions is probably the best contractor I've ever dealt with and I dealt with quite a few when I was buying and remodeling homes. What made the experience so good was that Doug was on top of the whole project from beginning to end and was the most responsive contractor I've ever worked with. Whenever I called him, if he couldn't answer, he would return my call within the hour. In my experience most contractors are difficult to contact once you've signed the contract. I have already recommended Exterior Additions to several of my friends interested in building or enclosing a porch.

Doug and his team did a fantastic job building the patio room of our dreams. His pricing was fair, his responsiveness to any questions that we had was very fast, his team was very professional, and the quality superb. We consulted 4 different contracting/home building companies before finally meeting Doug with Exterior Additions. The entire process, from the consultative/design work in the beginning stages to the final completion exceeded my expectations. Exterior Additions and their crew were the most professional workers I've had at my home in the 15 years I've been in Charlotte. During the construction phase I had 3 different people ask me for Doug's phone number. They could tell from the outside of our house how nice and neat the workers left the 'site' each day and that they were promptly back each day as planned. My neighbor across the street said 'WOW-your whole project only took a couple weeks? It's A year later and I'm still waiting on gutters'!! I think he'll know to use Exterior Additions next time. I don't know how Doug and his crew do it, but they managed to treat us like we were their #1 client the whole way through. I was constantly being updated by phone or email on what the next steps were, etc.. My stress level regarding this project actually DECREASED once the work got started as I could clearly tell from day one we chose the right company to partner with.

Doug was the first contractor contacted and recommended an architect to solidify the plan for the project. When plans were ready, Doug returned and furnished a complete estimate in a timely manner. Throughout the process he was reliable and honest. There were many changes (by me) during the process and I never felt abused on price. When changes were made that reduced cost, they were deleted from the estimate and invoices appropriately. Doug was a good consultant on all aspects of the project and I feel like he added real value. The work was of high quality and was finished in as timely a manner as possible, but we certainly hit some delays during the project. Vendors and the customer (me) were mostly the cause of the delays. The deck is fantastic, and was completed first in an incredibly short amount of time. Clearly this is Doug's strength. The remodel took considerably longer, but no delays were due to Doug. He was incredibly patient and professional throughout the process. When he used sub-contractors, they were professional and courteous and efficient. All in all, the best experience I could have hoped for from such an involved process.

Last year we contracted with Doug Lynch of Exterior Additions to cover a rather large patio and he did a beautiful job with a hip roof and six large round columns. This past August we contracted for a "matching" two car carport attached to our home. It is much too beautiful to be a carport, but we are so pleased to have it protecting the cars. He also upgraded the appearance of an existing garage. We could not be more pleased. Doug is a pleasure to work with and was always available to address any issues that we found or wanted to discuss. I highly recommend Exterior Additions.
