Two years ago my wife and I began interviewing companies to rebuild our deck. At that time we opted to renovate the interior of the house before the outside, but we were impressed by Exterior Additions so much we decided then they'd be the company who'd redo our deck when the time came, which was this Fall. Our initial interactions two years ago with Doug from Exterior Additions impressed us for several reasons. First, we were looking at building a fireplace off the deck. Although this would've meant more money for Exterior Additions, Doug advised against it because it wouldn't have been in the best interests of the design. I liked he was looking out for us even though it cut into their profits. Second, the contract for the work was really professional compared to the contracts we received from other companies. I knew exactly what I'd be paying for. Finally, Doug exuded confidence when discussing building our porch; Exterior Additions have done many projects, and I was comfortable we'd get a finished product we'd love. When we met with Doug this summer to discuss moving forward on the porch, he came up with a fantastic design idea. Initially we wanted a French door off our master bedroom that led to a walkway onto the main porch. Doug thought this wouldn't give us privacy and we might not use it much. Instead, he suggested giving the master bedroom its own covered porch in addition to the porch off the living room. His design absolutely rocks, and we love both spaces! Some final thoughts on working with Exterior Additions. Most important, they were extremely responsive to texts and phone calls. (This has not always been the case we've had with other contractors on other projects.) All of the work was top-notch, and we were very happy with the sub-contractors (such as electrical, painting, stone masons). There is no part of their work I was disappointed in or found wanting, and I give them my highest recommendation!

I could not be more pleased with the craftsmanship, professionalism, and final results from this company. Living in an older home, we have used numerous subcontractors for remodeling and upgrading over the years. Exterior Additions has been THE best.

I'll just cut to the chase and not duplicate what others reviewers have already said - I don't think there is a better option for this product or project in the Charlotte region. The porch looks as good as the day it was built. I joke with friends that the house will fall down before the porch will during a storm. He has an experienced crew of his own employees and the painter, electrician, and concrete sub contractors have worked with him for a long time - they all were great. Just look, he's already booked six months out. When you go to his website and view his projects, our screen porch is the one with the green ceiling.

For about two months now, my family has been enjoying the space that Doug Lynch and his team has created for us. We love everything about it and I can't say enough about how great his team is. Yes, there is a bit of a wait as he has many projects queued up, but after seeing how professional this team and the level of craftsmanship that Exterior Additions has, I would have waited 10 times as long to get my project done with them. Communication is excellent, the team is punctual, they are comfortable to work with and each day the interaction was great. Doug, many thanks to you and your team for a job well done. We really enjoy the space and absolutely have nothing negative to say about the whole process. Looking forward to our next project....

Exterior Additions exceeded satisfaction and achieved the "WOW" factor on this job! We were detailed in our due diligence review of contractors and found Doug to be very patient and positive responding to our many questions. His design recommendations were both cost effective and improvements to the project. We were amazed at the speed and efficiency of Exterior Additions completing the work. The scheduling and performance of the crews were well coordinated. The quality of the work and color-matching were excellent. We expected a "porch", but have a well-appointed "room" that we enjoy immensely. We are extremely pleased with working with Exterior Additions on this project.

From beginning to end this project went great. I can only count one time that Doug didn't answer the phone himself (it went to voicemail) and he called me back within 5 minutes. Mike and the carpentry crew are "all business;" they come early, work hard and there was noticeable construction everyday. The painters are very efficient, also. We have already recommended them to our neighbors and they have contracted with them, too. We "shopped around" for 2.5 years, getting estimates and having plans drawn from at least 10 different contractors. We (according to some) have a "tricky" roof line, so it was difficult to figure out who really knew what they were talking about, but when I met with Doug I felt that he had the expertise that we were looking for in a builder. All of the amazing construction pictures on Facebook was the tipping point for us.

Great. Doug went out of his way to accommodate my schedule requirements and was extremely helpful. I was very impressed with his knowledge and design. I expect to use them when I am ready to do the work.

Doug was responsive when we contacted him and provided us an onsite consultation for an estimate. Doug?s ability to size up a space, incorporate to our needs, and immediately (within 24 hours) develop a detailed plan and estimate, was impressive. He was able to slot us in his already-packed schedule as another build had fallen through. We leapt at the opportunity to start quickly, as we were expecting to have to wait awhile. From initial contact through the entire work effort, I was continually impressed by Doug. I am a project manager with extensive experience managing high value, complex technology projects, and Doug is the first person in the construction industry who not only met, but exceeded my every expectation, professionally managing the work as a project and communicating regularly, promptly and clearly as the work progressed. Our confidence and trust in Exterior Additions is unmatched in the Charlotte area because of how Doug managed this effort. I regret that we had but only one porch for him to build. Doug provided us a contract explaining every step, including our responsibilities, his responsibilities and outlining how we would work together. While construction was underway, Doug would shoot off a quick email ?status report? toward the end of the day after visiting the site so we knew what to expect when we returned home. In these emails he would often call out the next time we needed to be home to meet with someone, or to provide a payment, and in doing so, he minimized the time we had to spend working at home to get the job done. Evidence of Doug?s skill and his team?s experience was evident from the first day. Workers arrived on time, and they cleaned up the job site completely after each day?s work before they left. I initially worried about letting our dog into the back yard during construction, but after seeing how well they cleaned the site I felt comfortable walking out, doing a cursory once over to just be sure, and letting her out briefly each evening. I also noticed, and was impressed by, the precise calculation of materials needed for our project. For such a large undertaking, our porch was constructed from seemingly small stacks of high quality products. Very little material was wasted. Our build took 18 working days to complete, and Doug was able to accommodate our travel schedule which included us being out of town for 10 days during construction. The end result delivered by Exterior Additions is simply gorgeous. I began referring to it as ?Taj MaPorch?, or alternatively ?Porch Mahal? soon after the framing went up and the nicknames have stuck. I marvel at the quality of the porch and how wonderful it looks each time I'm out there. I love everything about the Eze-Breeze panels, and our new deck is fantastic. Doug judiciously used Trex on the surface components that will be heavily exposed to the sun. For the interior porch flooring, joists, and verticals that are less prone to weather wear, he matched the Trex with a quality stain on lumber. This meant that all the places on our old deck that were previously peeling, splintering and rotting are now constructed from Trex and weather-resistant. Everyone Doug brought on site to complete our project performed a high quality job. The electrician was helpful, and gave us pricing for additional components we wanted beyond his standard build. The painter expertly matched the colors to our home almost perfectly, even though Doug said he wasn't completely sure how perfectly they could match, or if there would need to be some additional painting done. Even the last piece, the gutter installation, went smoothly with the installation of high quality gutters that practically look like crown moulding on the outside of the porch, and a realignment of a ?problem gutter? that we used to have, moved around a corner so it?s invisible from the deck. With absolutely no hesitation, I recommend Exterior Additions to anyone looking to replace their outdoor living space. The price is worth it. The wait is worth it. The quality is unmatched. I can?t imagine ever using any other company for a similar job.

Exterior Additions was great to work with! Originally we met with 3 contractors to get estimates for the project and we were so glad that we went with Exterior Additions (EA). From the beginning EA was able to direct us with our vision for the project and introduced us to Eze-Breeze windows. One of my concerns for putting on a screened porch was that we wanted it to flow with the current house and not look like an add-on and it now looks like it was originally part of the house. To no fault of EA, we ran into issues with getting our permit for the project. EA handled the situation with professionalism and their experience and prompt responsiveness enabled us to get the required documents and continue with the project. We believe that if we would have chosen a less experienced contractor, our porch would have either never been built or would have not met code. Again, I can not stress enough how EA experience and knowledge made this project successful. Here are some additional examples of our experience with Exterior Additions: The project was started on time. Doug Lynch was always available and always promptly returned emails or phone calls. The crew was professional, friendly, courteous and non-smoking. The materials used are very good quality. Design recommendations were inline with our vision for our porch. The original quote for the project was broken down so that we could remove or add items to keep within our budget without high pressure sales. We love our screened porch and had a great experience with Exterior Additions. The Eze-Breeze windowns were not something that we planned on using but are so glad we did. They have created more of a 4 season room that just a screen porch. We highly would recommend using Exterior Additions.

Wow! We cannot say enough good things about Doug and his crew at Exterior Additions. Exterior Additions built a 16x18 Enclosed Porch with Custom Eze-Breeze windows. The workmanship was top notch. Attention to detail and organizational skills were absolutely over and above what we expected. Customer Service and Communication were excellent. All of the crew including all subs showed when they said they would. We even got to start our project about 3 weeks early. Doug's top priority is quality work, attention to detail, and making his customer happy. He exceeded our expectations! The final result is a beautiful three season room that our family cannot stay out of since it's final finish this week. Our 10 year old has camped out every night on the porch. I would not hesitate to recommend this company. We need more companies like this one!

Went extremely well. I was quite pleased with the final product. Doug and his team were always punctual the project was done on time and actually a little earlier than when we thought it was going to be complete. It all went really well and incredibly smoothly. Their timeline worked like clockwork - they would finish one step and be on to the next. They made a suggestion at the beginning about adding a window system which would increase our ability to use the room and we are so glad we did. When they said they would do something, they did it. When people were supposed to show up, they always did. Jeremiah and Matthew were especiallygreat - they were so pleasant and the work they did is beautiful. The subcontractors were all nice and did their jobs well. From Josh who did the estimate, to Jeremiah and Matthew who built it, and Doug who owns the company - we could not be happier! We recently moved locally (very locally....into a different neighborhood only a few miles away from our previous residence). Exterior Additions built our 3-season porch at our previous residence, so this is our 2nd experience with their company. There was no doubt I was going to use them again. Quality of workmanship, professionalism, and customer focus from all trades involved in the process of the project is outstanding (just like it was the last time). Doug Lynch has it figured out and delivers a great product in the right way. It's been a big $ investment (both times) in a space in our house our family spends a tremendous amount of time. If you want to do it right and get the best value, I wouldn't bother wasting time shopping and listening to a bunch of BS. It will only cloud your judgement. These guys are great, and I don't have any reservations about saying so. I also don't like writing reviews : )

Doug presented his company professionally from our first meeting through the last touch-ups. He and his crew were always on time, worked more quickly than I had expected, and maintained focus on quality first. They also had to deal with a difficult access situation; we live in Dilworth, in an area that required them staging materials via a non-traditional access point. They worked around it with few issues and, importantly, didn't bother our neighbors while doing so. The contract was thorough and helped us anticipate the process and there were clear guidelines about when payments would be required. You may find cheaper providers, but you won't find anyone who will do a better job. Doug and his crew are craftsmen.

When preparing to add a screen porch and new deck to my home, I contacted Doug to review my plans. While our schedules did not match, my impression of Doug was very positive. EZE Breeze windows had been decided for my screen system and I ordered the door via a local hardware distributor. To my disappointment, they were non-responsive and cumbersome to deal with. When going back into the PGT web site, I discovered Doug is now a distributor. I contacted Doug and ordered EZE Breeze from Exterior Additions. Immediately, he was able to give me a delivery date and professional installation advice. I cannot say enough about the performance, integrity and knowledge of Doug and Exterior Additions. A total A+.

Exterior Additions exceeded our expectations in building us a new screen porch and adding onto our deck. Mike and Jason are true craftsmen. Mike is exacting in all his work, but also quick and efficient. They are well qualified as builders and built a beautiful screened porch for us. They also took a set of windows out and put in French doors to make a lovely entrance from our home to the porch. Doug, the owner, is always accessible by email or phone. He kept us well informed throughout the whole process. Josh gave us the original proposal and was very informative. He was also quick to bring supplies and pick up the trash. They provided us with all the information we needed for our HOA approval, as well. When we had a design change over halfway through the building process, they were very agreeable and worked it out for us. We really had no complaints at all with the entire process. We are so excited to have such a lovely location to relax in our backyard. Everyone we worked with at Exterior Additions were exceptional.

Exterior Additions constucted the porch in 4 weeks and did an exceptional job. Doug and his crew Mike and Jason were on top of every aspect of the project from day one until the finish. The quality of the work and materials was excellent and everything was done when they said it would be done. They were very professional and it was a pleasure to do business with them. All of their subcontractors were of the same quality and were there when they said they would be there and performed professional high quality work. We are extremely satisfied with the work they performed and would highly recommend them to anyone considering adding a porch, deck or addition to their home. We would definitly hire them again without even looking elsewhere.

Doug is so easy to work with and very knowledgeable when it comes to exterior additions! His crew was here when they said they would be, came back to do touch ups as needed and addressed an issue I had which wasn't anything other than one window that we had trouble opening and as soon as I contacted Doug he sent his foreman out the next day. Called and picked up on the 3rd ring. I explained what kind of deck we were looking to do. He explained that our project was outside of the scope of what his company does and then immediately referred me to another company on Angie's List (Decks Unlimited). It doesn't get much more professional than that!

It was a long wait for construction to start. We signed the Contract in late August I believe and construction began in January. Their crews were professional and Doug handed all issues promptly. It was a great experience working with exterior additions and we would not hesitate to use them again in the future.

The whole experience was fabulous from beginning to end. Doug Lynch was wonderful to work with as was everyone that works for him! They were professional, respectful, prompt, and most importantly did an amazing job!! Quality work all the way around, and Doug was always prompt with communication. We knew what to expect and when to expect it and everything went very smoothly! We really couldn't be happier with our new screen porch!! Doug was great from the start and he was my first quotation and my gut was to go with him without exploring other options. However, I didn't and continued shopping and I discovered through other appointments and quotations that I should have not wasted my time. The design process was fun and easy with Doug and he provided nice options for each component whether it was 3 options for the floor type or the ceiling and brought real experience about advantages and disadvantages of each. Once the work started, his crew was great to work with and very professional and punctual. They were considerate of my yard and driveway during the build phase without me having to get involved and they reguarly showed up to take trash away. Anytime there was a question of any sort, Doug was always very responsive to my emails or phone calls - availability was never an issue with Exterior Additions. I had a few punchlist items that can sometimes be a pain when dealing with contractors and Doug addressed each one with no issues. Finally, Doug and his crew always had a great attitude which I think is really important and would recommend this company to anyone - really was a positive experience from start to finish. You made find a little better price but not better qualilty based on all my exterior patio research in the Charlotte surrounding areas. Every guest raves about the patio when they come over!!

Doug and his team were awesome. Doug came by and explained everything to me, his quote was prompt and he was quick to answer any and all of my questions. When the crew started they were quick, professional and very courteous. The porch went in quickly and everything was done to my satisfaction. I really am looking forward to using the space for many years to come.

Doug Lynch answered a random call from us last fall, after he was recommended to us by an electrician. We were discouraged at the time my husband, Chris made the call. We had a "dream porch" in mind and had just received a bid from another company that far exceeded our budget. Chris was immediately impressed with Doug and his promptness in answering questions we had regarding an alternate plan to build a porch. Doug took the time to meet with us, to look at our original plan and discuss alternatives to the plan. He was very timely in getting back with us with a new project drawing that we both loved. He was able to accommodate our budget and allowed us to have input in a few changes which resulted in a wonderful product. We signed a contract with Doug after refining a few details and securing a bid document with all details and products outlined. The contract defined the specific products to be used and had a price breakdown of each phase of the construction. Our project began approximately 5 months after we signed the contract. The wait to start construction was hard, but well worth it. The bulk of the project was completed in less than 5 weeks. Doug communicated with us almost everyday. We very much enjoyed all of the sub-contractors and trades people we meet during the process. We both love art and design and kept a close watch on the building process. The project workmanship we came home to each day after work was superior. There was always a clear line of communication between us and Exterior Additions. We are thrilled with the outcome of our new porch and fireplace; We highly recommend Doug Lynch and his team at Exterior Additions.
