They are an A company.

The service call was answered quickly. Although there was a couple days delay while the part was ordered, my tenant were very satisfied with the service. The blower motor was replaced. Everything seemed to be working well when they were finished with this service call.

The tech from Dorton's, whose name I have forgotten, was on time, quite polite, and very knowledgeable of heating systems. He did a wonderful job for us and someone from Dorton's called us a few days later to make sure that everything had gone well and I assured her that it had. Also, later in the month, we had an emergengy and had to call Duke Energy ultimately, but Tim the tech from Dorton's spoke with me 3 times about the problem and determined it was not something he could fix . However, he spent about 15 minutes with me total on the phone, at no charge I might add, and provided me with a lot of help. Then I had another problem, no water since we have a pump and with no power we have no water, and he asked his boss, Jamie Dorton, who we should call for that problem and the owner of the company actually gave me a name to call to help! I have never had a company, or an owner for that matter, be so helpful and kind and I highly recommend Dorton's Heating and A/C wholeheartedly !! Thank you all so much

I had hired Mr. Dorton to do some other work in past. Before, I had a contract with a different company and they always found something else they wanted me to pay for. When I had a problem I called Mr. Dorton and he would come out and fix the problem without making me pay for anything additional. I'm very happy with him. When our air conditioner went out I called him immediately and he purchased and installed the new air conditioner in less than a day. It was a hot day in the summer and I was very grateful that he was able to do that for me. When he comes out to check on the system, he looks at everything - things that other companies hadn't looked at before. I have been very happy with their service.

He was super prompt. I was very impressed with Mr. Dorton. I had him repair our air conditioning unit. He told me about the problem and gave me a bunch of options. He repaired it but it went out in less than 2 days. He came back in and added more free on to it. The next day he replaced it. We had not scheduled it but he arranged the schedule for us. Mr. Dorton was excellent.

I found out days before the closing of my new home that the a/c motor was damaged. They came immediately to access the situation and I was grateful. When the seller agreed to fix the a/c, they fixed it right away.

The technician was promp and courteous.

Work was done on 2 air condtioning units in a rental property. The service tech was knowlegeable and very informative. He answered all our questions, was thorough, and very professional. He called to inform us that he would arrive late and called us when he did arrive; which we had asked him to do. We really liked the fact that this company was not all about selling the service contract, which had been our experience with our last HVAC provider. He did not try to oversell us on services and also told us which part of routine service on the unit we could do ourselves. We appreciated the Angie's List discount. This one service call has already paid for half of our yearly Angie's List fee. We found that the total cost was actually less than we had paid for the same service 2 years ago from a man considered to be very reasonable! This is our new 'go-to' HVAC company!

Excellent service and very professional. I called for a check up on my existing air system to find out that I needed a new heat pump. That would explain my doubled heating bill. I had been using strip heating for two months. They assessed the problem gave me an estimate. The final bill to my surprise was the same as the estimate that I was quoted. I can't say enough how happy I am with there service.

EXCELLENT! The technician arrived exactly when scheduled, was very knowledgeable, did not hurry but spent time checking the system, and didn't try to talk us into any unnecessary services! We've dealt with other companies that immediately wanted to sell us a new system.

They came very quickly, in fact the owner came the day of my call and looked over what we needed. He had the worker here the next day to take care of everything and they both were very pleasant. So far our heat has been working very well, and we have no complaints. This company is very honest, they are not just about making money, but making the customer happy.

It was fine. They came when they said they were going to. They did a very thorough job of evaluating the air conditioning system. They spent a lot of time and there were no problems at all.

Prompt, courteous and professional. Also pointed out workarounds taken by builder that circumvented standard safety mechanisms in furnace. My family and I appreciate the high level of service that facilitated getting our heat back on.

What fantastic customer service I received!! Jamie and his brother arrived as scheduled (on July 4, no less!) to correct the problem. They were extremely professional and courteous and explained exactly what they would be doing and why. They installed a zone dampering control board; zone dampers; 2 additional thermostats and relocated the one thermostat to a more efficient location. They installed a return air vent in a hallway and a supply air vent upstairs. I really felt bad that they had to work in the extreme heat of the attic but they didn't complain. The measuring and cutting was right on the mark. I can't even tell that these additions (thermostats and air vents) are not the original installed in the house! Both Jamie and his brother were extremely courteous and tried to be as disruptive as possible. Their expertise and professionalism was evident from the beginning to the end of the project. They went 'above and beyond' in order to be responsive to my problem. I never expected them to come out on a holiday. But I surely appreciated it! The AC works wonderfully, just as Jamie explained it would. It has made a world of difference in the comfort level in my home! I can't say enough about Dorton H&A. It's obvious that their dedication to customer service and quality work is of utmost importance to them. I would not hesitate to call them if I needed their service again. I certainly would recommend them to anyone wishing quality and professionalism and a reasonable price!! The estimate I received was right on the mark with no hidden or additional charges.

He came out the same day I called and worked out in the pouring rain. He was professional and kind. He fixed the AC unit and told me to call him I had any problems. I will definitely call Dorton's for any future repairs although I have an annual contract with another company.

I called at 1:30 pm about my A/C not cooling. Spoke with James,the owner, at 3:00 pm that same day. He solved our problem in an hour. He was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and very prompt. I would 100% call him again.

I have used Dorton's Heating & Air in the past and always recommend them to my friends and family. So when I started looking for someone to clean my air ducts I was delighted to find out they were now offering that service. I called Jamie (the owner) and told him what I needed. He came out the next day and gave me a quote. The price was a little higher than some of the ads I had seen in the newspaper and coupon magazines before but when he explained how the system they use is so much better at actually cleaning the ducts I decided to let them do it. The next day Tim showed up to clean the ducts and told me a little about the process before he got started. I was even able to watch his progress on a large screen that was right there at his machine. I loved being able to see that my ducts were getting thoroughly cleaned. After he finished he cleaned up and answered all my questions and even showed me the bag containing all the dust and dirt he had cleaned from my air ducts.

Within 3 hours of calling them James, the owner of Dorton's Heating & Air was at my home for a free and very thorough estimate. He spent over an hour at my home measuring and calculating the correct size system I needed. Out of three other contractors I called 2 didn't even show up and the third quoted me a price in about 5 minutes without even opening the door to my crawlspace. So of course I chose Dorton's. The work was scheduled to begin at 8:30 am on the following Monday and James and 1 of his crews were at my home at 8:26. Derek and Tim were the crew that James brought out. Both of them had a very professional appearance and demeanor. James checked in with them about 5 times throughout the day and even came back to help them finish up before dark so that we could be sure my heat would be running that evening. It was and I could not be happier. If only all service companies were like Dorton's Heating & Air. It was truly a pleasure to have met and worked with James & his company.
