 + -1 moreThey were great. Cox doors arrived a few hours after I called. He spent at least 1 1/2 hours repairing it. He also replaced a few small parts that caused some strain on the door when it opened and closed. It runs smoother now than it did brand new. The little adjustments he made will probably help me avoid another repair in the near future.
Description of Work: The spring broke on one side, and when it broke, it also damaged one of the brackets holding it up. We could not open or close the garage anymore.

When my door first froze, I tried to get Overhead Door (used them before) to come out, but they couldn't come for 3 days, so Paul Cardone with one of your other companies came out and unstuck my door for $75 reduced to $60 with a coupon. Paul said that I should budget for a replacement opener, as this one was about to go(price $300-$400). He didn't mention repairing this one. He said the new openers had more options and were quieter. Cox Door said my opener would work just fine if they just replaced the gears as they had stripped. He came out the day after I called and finished the work in about 30 minutes.
Description of Work: He replaced the gear box on my garage door opener.

 + -1 moreEverything was done professionally, from the appointment being set to Scott completing the installation. Scott called ahead and met the scheduled times. He spent about three hours for both door openers. He spent time instructing my wife on the door openers and the new features.
Description of Work: The one Garage Door was not functioning correctly. It would go up about 1/2 way and the safety release for the chain would just let go. Scott came out and reviewed the problem. Given that the door openers were about 15 years old and an out-of-date Stanley, he recommended that the door opener be replaced. I was going in this direction regardless since both doors did not have a motion safety sensor.

Description of Work: Repaired garage door that had been sporadically working for quite a while. I had another repair service come out twice before, and it worked briefly before resuming the problem.  + -1 moreCox rep was able to make the visit shortly after I called - apparently rep would be coming through area while doing some other calls, so could stop by. (Indicates efficient planning on management's behalf.) Rep waited for me to get to the house, then went to work and finished in no time. I think the labor time (a couple of hours work) adds to the price - I didn't compare to any other companies - just seemed a little higher than what I expected.
Description of Work: Garage Door operator stopped working; replaced gear or some other part of operator motor. They had the part(s) on hand. Also, greased chain and checked garage door overall and tightened all nuts and bolts.

 + -1 moreGreat experience. Got an appointment the very next day after I called. Scott was extremely nice, his work was very neat, and he had my door fixed in no time. He also helped advise me on upgrading my old system in the future, but got the garage working properly for now until that time.
Description of Work: Replaced my broken door springs (which were old and had literally broken off in pieces) and got everything working properly. Also adjusted the door sensitivity to raise and lower and close properly.

 + -1 moreI called no less than 8 garage door companies requesting installation of a specific Liftmaster garage door opener. All were clueless about Liftmaster products and ALL were misleading (intentionally or unintentionally) regarding the product they recommended they install for me. Thank goodness I gave Cox Door a call. They knew their stuff, were honest, had a very fair price, and had the unit installed in 24 hours. Installer programmed my cars built-in opener and went over system before leaving. TWO BIG THUMBS UP for these guys.

 + -1 moreAngie's list does it again; I'm very satisfied. One of my garage door springs snapped, thereby trapping my car in the garage. Even though one of their service men was out sick, they came out the same day, at no extra charge, to replace both springs and allow the door to open & close. Three days later they returned to install a top-of-the-line new opener. The work was done very professionally and neatly. The old opener was on-its-last-legs and didn't even have a mechanism to stop the door if a person or object was in its path. The new door is so quiet, my wife accused me of leaving the door open when I went out to the store, because she didn't hear it open when I returned (she was in the kitchen near the door to the garage). I also like the battery back-up on the door, so I could open the door even if the electric power was off.
Description of Work: Replaced both springs over garage door; replaced garage door opener; added keyless entry.

 + -1 moreThis company is an excellent example of why to use ''Angie's List''. They communicate well, show up when they say they will, and perform the work quickly and very efficiently. Springs, pulleys, cables, and rollers were replaced on one door. Safety cables were installed on all doors along with a pulley or two. All doors/rollers were lubricated and checked. I could not be more happy with the service, and the pricing was very reasonable.

I KNOW COX DOOR WILL TAKE CARE OF ALL MY NEEDS IN THE FUTURE. THEY ARE THE ONLY COMPANY I WILL CALL FOR MY DOOR OR AWNING NEEDS.
Description of Work: REPLACED MY BROKEN GARAGE DOOR THAT CAME WITH MY NEW HOME ONLY SIX YEARS AGO. I EXPECTED THE DOOR TO LAST LONGER THAN IT DID BUT QUICKLY FOUND OUT ALL THE SUPPORTS WERE ONLY ALUMINUM AND GLUED ON TO THE DOOR; CONSEQUENTLY THE GARAGE DOOR OPENER PULLED THE SUPPORTS FROM THE DOOR. SINCE THE ORIGINAL INSTALLATION DID NOT INCLUDE A WAY FOR ME TO LOCK THE DOOR WITHOUT THE GARAGE OPENER ENGAGED, IT WAS A SECURITY PROBLEM. THE COMPANY, WHO INSTALLED THE DOOR, DID NOT CARE ABOUT MY SECURITY SITUATION AND SAID THEY COULD NOT FIX THE DOOR FOR ONE WEEK. I CALLED COX DOOR WHO INSTALLED AN AWNING FOR ME TWO YEARS AGO. COX DOOR TEMPORARILY FIXED THE DOOR THE SAME DAY IT BROKE BUT I KNEW I WOULD NEED A NEW DOOR. COX DOOR SALESPERSON, JOHN, ATTENDED TO MY NEEDS AND NEW ORDER IMMEDIATELY. THEY MADE ME FEEL LIKE I WAS THE TOP PRIORITY CUSTOMER THEY HAD. THAT WAS A WELCOME SECURE FEELING.
