BROKEN J FENCE

Broken J Fencing, LLC I’m writing this review regarding my sincere dissatisfaction with this company. I wrote a check to the company on October 30, 2020. The request was for a chain link fence. I was told that it would take a few days because a special gate had to be ordered. After paying half of the cost of the fence upfront, now I cannot get one individual to respond to me. It was a recommendation on Facebook from his wife. I have messaged the owner I have messaged his wife. I have pulled up their legal documents on the Secretary of State website and driven to that address and there is no business. So now I’m contacting my bank to place a fraud claim and a claim against the business for fraudulent endorsement. They took my money put it into their bank and have not performed any service whatsoever. This legally allows me to file a fraudulent endorsement claim. Please do not use this company. If I had known a month later that I still wasn’t going to have my fence up I would have gone through a different company. I made it very clear I need a fence to be up before Thanksgiving. We are moving into a new home we have dogs. I need the fence to be put up. It’s very simple you’re a fence company that’s what you do. Apparently what you don’t do is follow up with your clients and actually provide a good or service. Unfortunately they just take your money and refuse to call you back or answer an email I have also gone in and requested a new quote and they won’t even call me back about that. It doesn’t matter how I’ve tried to get in touch with them they will not respond. $1250 gone because of dishonesty and horrible business ethics.

We heard about Broken J from a friend who was really happy with their work. Eddie and his crews were punctual and did a great job. The material they used was a much better, thicker grade of wood than what I've seen most split rail fences typcially constructed with. The gates he uses are adorable. We expected to end up with a functional split rail fence that kept our dog in and ended up with something that really perked up the appearence of our yard in addition. Eddie was a stickler for property lines and did a really thorough job. We'd use him again.

ACTUAL FENCE WORK, WHEN COMPLETED WAS SATISFACTORY. I WOULD RECOMMEND CHECKING FENCE LINE BEFORE ALLOWING INSTALLATION OF POSTS (I HAD TO ASK THE COMPANY TO MOVE SEVERAL BECAUSE THE FENCE LINE WAS NOT STRAIGHT). START TO FINISH WAS ABOUT A MONTH, ALTHOUGH ACTUAL WORKING DAYS WAS ONLY ABOUT 3. COMPANY CLAIMED PERSISTENT RAIN DELAYED WORK, BUT IT DIDN'T RAIN ON MANY DAYS WHEN NO WORK WAS DONE, COMPANY DID NOT COME TO THE WORKSITE TO VERIFY THAT IT WAS NOT RAINING THERE. FINAL INVOICE WAS ABOUT $1000 OVER INITIAL ESTIMATE BECAUSE OF ERRORS IN ESTIMATING AMOUNT OF MATERIAL NEEDED.
