Bill and Rick are very easy to work with, professional and have reasonable prices. They have done a number of small projects for us around the house and we would use them again.

Bill Albritton is amazing!!! From the first time that Bill came over to discuss our project until project completion, he was professional, prompt, informative and honest -- his work quality is unparalleled. We needed bookcases, window seats and a fireplace mantle for a 22' wall. Bill drew up plans, custom built all components, painted and installed the entire project. To the extent that we needed other trades for electrical, etc. he put us in touch with top notch subs. His team is comprised of nice people that are skilled craftsmen. Bill's attention to detail and pride of work stand out and he added many high-end details that make the project look fantastic. We are new to Charlotte and so grateful to have found Albritton Custom Carpentry. I received two other quotes (from non-Angie's list referrals); both were higher priced for less high end work. Bill's work is absolutely outstanding and we will definitely hire him again.

I absolutely adore Bill. He put custom built-in cabinets and bookcases in our living room last year, and this year we hired him to add our butler's pantry as well as do a few designs for future projects. As always, he does impeccable work and is just a joy to have in our home. He is so popular in my household that my parents are also using him for rotted wood repair, front door replacement, and kitchen installation early next year. He is really a great guy and takes a lot of pride in his work.

We called Bill & Rick based on their previous reviews on Angie's List and scope of work / capabilities. After contacting Bill he scheduled a visit to give us an estimate. He was professional, pleasant and very outgoing. We had a good feeling about him and scheduled him to do the work. They showed up right on schedule and worked through the day. The craftsmanship and care to get every cut right was sheer precision. The work areas were cleaned up and we are very happy with the end result. We would highly recommend them to everyone for woodworking needs.

They did excellent carpentry work and they were very easy to work with. They were very flexible and professional. It was just a really good experience. I do not have anything to compare their price to but I think that it was reasonable because they did a pretty complex work.

I had laminate wood flooring installed and the flooring people placed it on an unlevel floor leading to issues with the seams coming apart. It was recommended that the floor be leveled so I sought a quote from Albritton Custom Carpentry. Unfortunately, after further evaluation, they do not perform the work needed given the type of equipment needed. They were very professional and pleasant even though they were not going to do any work. We will definitely consider them if I decide to get some custom cabinetry or closets.

Sounds easy, right! It requires a perfectly horizontal cut on a tapered column, exact height measurement and attachment to a base and capital. If you get all this close to perfect then you have to screw the base to the half wall and the ceiling, hopefully hitting a beam. Bill and his partner Rick did this twice.

I first contacted Bill sometime in early February and he set up a date in that same week to come see our space and take measurements. At the time, he said he wouldn't be able to start the project until late March. I was disappointed because I was hoping to have it done sooner, but as soon as I met him, I knew I wanted HIM to do the job and I was willing to wait as long as it took. Bill is the nicest man you will ever meet! As soon as I told him we had just moved to the area, he was eager to help me with any questions I had....everything from veterinarians to restaurants! About two weeks later, I got an email with the drawings of the unit and I was more than pleased! A few days later Bill came back and told me he would be able to start sooner than anticipated! The first day of install went smoothly as all the following three days! Everything looked so beautiful and I was so impressed with his craftsmanship! The beautiful unit completely changed the look of our room and I couldn't be more pleased that I chose Bill to do our built-in!

They are fantastic! They are gifted, experienced professionals who clearly not only excel at their work, but also love it. They respected our living space and we felt very comfortable having them in our home over the course of a week. Additionally, they are excellent communicators and it is always easy to get in touch with them, which is often not the case with contract work (so frustrating!). While initially consulted to repair the staircase, Bill and Rick discovered quickly that it was not only poorly and improperly built, but also a safety hazard (one of the steps actually popped up during the consultation). Although booked out several weeks, they were both so concerned for our safety that they worked hard to fit us into their schedule as soon as possible, including working a weekend and well into several evenings. Aside from a great job, they did a thorough clean-up after every work day so we never felt we were living in a construction zone. Bill and Rick were both very patient with our many questions and pondering over design choices. They even graciously allowed me to use their tools to complete some basic framing for another project. Also, they have been willing and eager to teach, as I am interested in honing some basic carpentry skills. Bill's pricing was reasonable and included a not-to-exceed cost that he honored despite the fact that we made a number of material and design upgrades at the last minute. We couldn't be more pleased with the work they did, and we'll be using them for all our carpentry projects in the future!

Bill met with us for an initial meeting to discuss the project, emailed us a drawing, we made some changes and Bill returned for a second meeting and followed up with another drawing for our approval. After the cabinet body was built at his shop, we stopped in to see how our selected door pulls looked on the six cabinet doors. Bill and his partner delivered and installed the pre-painted cabinet, shelving, and doors, adding appropriate moldings to tie into what existed in the room, caulked and painted moldings, etc. It was a pleasure to work with Bill and his partner.

Exceptional work. I am so glad we found them on Angie's list. They removed five feet of plaster board up a stair way, inserted 2X10 between the 57 year old studs and securely hung the handrail. This puppy is not coming off the wall in my life time. On the pocket door, Bill brought trim pieces to match the 57 year old knotty pine in our kitchen, used a little water-based stain to further match the wood. As a little extra they fixed the hardware on the pocket door. They will be invited back. Next project is in our living room. Don't want to beat this to death, but I am real pleased that we found these men.

My experience with them was good. I would absolutely use them again.

WeWe ended up not using him, but his pricing was good and he had excellent follow-up, by providing us with drawings of what he was going to do.

We had crown molding installed on the ground floor of our house. It is rare these days to see coping work on inside corner joints. Top notch work and would recommend without hesitation. I even got recipes from Bill while Rick offered up some batting tips to my little leaguer! A pleasure to work with. Bill and Rick were fantastic.

We have been talking about getting built-in coat cubbies for our two boys for years and finally decided to pull the trigger this year. I found Bill Albritton on Angies List and reached out to him. He called back right away and then came to meet with us to talk about what we needed, see the style we were interested in, etc. Within a few days he provided us with a design that we tweaked together. He was very receptive to my requests for changes and made sure the design was exactly what I wanted. Because he was so easy to work with, we decided to see about having our pantry redone and to revamp our walk-in closet. So far he and his associate, Rick, have built the cubbies and the pantry and we couldn't be happier. The quality and craftmanship are excellent and just what we wanted. Furthermore, they are extremely professional. They arrive when they say they will and make sure everything is perfect before they leave. I highly recommend Albritton Custom Carpentry!

Bill came the first time with pictures of his previous work. He took measurements, and listened to what we wanted. He emailed us a mock up design, came back for final measurements before starting to build. When he finished in his workshop, he made an appointment for installation. He is considerate while in the house and did a good job of cleaning up after himself.

I literally joined Angies List in order to find a carpenter who would be able to design and build bookcases along an entire wall (20X14) in my family room. I contacted Bill based on his stellar reviews. The entire experience - from the first appointment where he came to take a look at the room, through the finishing touches was above par and not only made me thankful I joined Angies list, but also that I was able to find him. He showed up on time for all appointments, and is truly a master at what he does. There is a door off center and an adjoining door to another room right next to the wall where I wanted the bookcases to be placed, and therefore I really needed his consultation for placement of the shelves on the wall in order for them to look balanced and not block the side door. We talked about what I was looking for and he took that information and created some drawings for what might look best along the wall. A week or so later he provided me the drawings to peruse via email. One option was a full wall of bookcases (my original request) and the second option was bookcases on either side of the off center door with floating shelves on either side to make up for the rest of the wall space, which would not impede with the side door. His suggestion was far superior to my request and I would never have thought to do that. After selecting the option he suggested, he visited once or twice more for exact measurements and began to build them in his shop. There was an additional visit to measure the template for the shelves. The entire process took a couple months, which was partially delayed by my indecision over the original drawings. I was not in a rush though, having waited several years to get these built. Finally the day came for installation, and his team showed up. There were some minor adjustments that had to be made to my existing electrical - doorbell had to be moved, light sockets had to be placed within the bookcases, etc; but these were planned for and were done impeccibly. The installation itself took a couple of days.I am now the proud owner of fabulous looking bookcases with glassed decorative cabinets on the top and floating shelves on each side. I am something of a perfectionist and even I was amazed at the quality of woodworking; not a seem to be found anywhere and if I may say, the best looking bookcases I have ever seen. I would DEFINITELY hire Bill again, and will most certainly do so when I need another project completed. When I get all books placed I will take a picture for him to place on this site. Then you can all see the wonderful work he has done for me and my family. :) Hire him, he's worth it.

Bill is one of the first people I met when I moved to Charlotte and the nicest. He is extremely helpful and full of ideas. He is honest in describing and educating about any obstacles which he may encounter. He showed up on time and was ready to work. The finished shelves look like they were original to the house, including matching the paint. I can't figure out how he did it, but he did. I plan on using him for my kitchen remodel.

Designed for unique space--number of options given, final design adapted to make sure we were happy. His experience showed through little things; he is a detail orientated artisan. Stayed within our budget. Returned several times to make sure cabinet doors were good. Very trustworthy, we were comfortable with him in our home. Excellent conversationalist. Also built a fireplace mantle for us. We are so very happy with everything; it is better than we imagined--lots of storage, it looks great, AND we have more space in our living room than before and added to the value of our home.

The job required eight or nine visits over several weeks.Bill got an electrician for us who relocated an outlet and installed a closet light.Bill did an excellent job framing the closet and installing and finishing the sheetrock.He provided a door and baseboards that are identical to what is in the rest of the house.Bill also installed the door and baseboards perfectly.

Bill has been wonderful from the start. We brought out 5 different companies/individuals to provide estimates for the bookcases, and the estimate that Bill provided was the second lowest that we received. He also gave us the option of helping him out, in order to take off a little cost as well. He and my husband spent five days constructing and installing the bookcases, to the exact specifications that I requested. Bill also helped us determine the proper paint for the pieces (we decided to get the bookcases unfinished, and do the the painting and finishing work ourselves), as well as showing us how to use many of the tools of the trade in order to cut crown molding, etc. We couldn't be happier with Bill's personality and professionalism, or how the bookcases turned out. They looked absolutely lovely and are a wonderful addition to our living room. Bill has also been great in recommending other individuals to help out with painting and refinishing needs that we have. We have also already talked to him about doing a few other built-in additions to our home, including a breakfast bench, display cases for our bonus room, and some minor exterior porch work. We look forward to working with Bill on many other projects in the future. And, as a side note, he is wonderful with animals - which was great with our two cats who got a lot of love and affection while he was there.

Bill was very responsive after I left a message - he came the following week and looked at the kitchen cabinets. He made some great suggestions about what to do with the cabinets (all I knew is that they needed to be shorter) - and we settled on his idea of a bookshelf. He took a cabinet door in order to match the wood stain (no easy task!) and built the cabinet offsite. He coordinated with a skilled electrician to come and make a new outlet in the cabinet - and they came on the same day to do the work. Bill took down the microwave and cabinets above it, installed his newly build shelf and it matched EXACTLY with the existing cabinets stain - it is GORGEOUS! He put some nice touches on the bookshelf to make it functional and attractive. I have already asked Bill to make a new cabinet for me in another area of our kitchen this summer. I did not know what to expect and was nervous about this project, but Bill truly did amazing work and I am so happy - it looks like it was always this way in the kitchen!

Bill did an excellent job! My family room and kitchen look so much better. The 3 niches he worked on look wonderful. Bill was always on time and made sure things were all picked up when he left for the day. He was very polite and friendly. I would definitly use him again.

We decided to redo our kitchen however in order to reduce costs we wanted to do as much as we could. We chose Bill because of his Angie's List rating and his willingness to work with us and teach us how to do many of the little things necessary to do a major kitchen overhaul for significant savings. During the entire project Bill has been very patient and an excellent instructor. He gave us great design suggestions to really give our project have a very, very high end look. His work is very high quality. He consistently found ways to help us save money whether that be suggesting other trades which were also great or places to save money on trim or cabinet doors, drawers etc. Since we were doing a lot of the work the project took a very long time - almost a year. Bill worked around our schedule without fail. He was NEVER late. Was always tidy and cleaned up after himself. He was respectful of our property and took care when in our house. He doesn't smoke so no dealing with constant smoke breaks and the smoke breath smell in your house. We gained a lot of confidence and trust in Bill and even gave him the keys to our house as he worked on a project while we were on vacation. May sound crazy but work with Bill for anytime and you will not think so. In the end Bill was not just custom carpenter in our home but became a friend of our family. I am 46 years old and have had many, many experiences with workers some are bad, some are good ( mostly good now that I use Angie's list ) None until Bill would I ever say have become a friend. Bill - Val and I are so thankful and grateful for everything you have done for us.
