The team that unpacked the grandfather clock in Charlotte said it was not packed correctly and pointed out that probably as a result one of the wires had kinked. They tried to straighten the wire and the clock did run for awhile, but then the wire broke and the weight it held fell. I called my contact and she said she'd send me a claim form via email. She did not. When I called back, I was unable to reach my contact (I don't believe she works there anymore). The woman I spoke with, Lissette Ontiveros with Moving Made Easy in California, was rude, but said she would speak with the folks who unpacked the clock. She did not. Instead she looked at the paperwork where the packing crew from Dayton Ohio noted that the clock was not running at the time of of the pack. We did not wind the clock on purpose so the pendulum would not be swinging when they arrived to pack it. Therefore she will not send a claim form for the damage. I paid over $300 at each end of the move for a total of $700 to have this clock packed professionally. That is a significant investment to end up with a broken clock.

My daughter has used them for a couple of college moves since I only had a quarter of the house to be moved. They are moving me today and this is our third time experience; they've moved us twice from house to house. This time it is a younger set of guys and they are full of molasses so I wouldn't be extremely happy. In the past they were really good. They were efficient and took care of everything. They were clean. These guys are decent; they are just taking way to long for the amount of stuff I have to get done. They are just young and not as experienced so I don't know what the deal is. We don't have a lot of comparison on price.
