Description of Work: We have worked with Melanie over the last 5 years on various projects. She has helped us with window treatments, rugs, furniture and fixtures. She never pushes us to do more than we feel comfortable - we call her when we have a project in mind and she takes it from there.

Description of Work: I have worked with Melodie Durham for the last 14 years for any interior design needs that we've had. When we moved into our home almost 14 years ago, she helped us with a complete redecorating approach, and we were completely happy with her recommendations, assistance, and results. Over the years, she has assisted us as we've chosen new furniture and replaced existing furniture, and in the complete kitchen make-over we undertook 3 years ago. We are now completing another, even more extensive redecorating project and she has assisted us with this as well. Specifically, the project included the following: 1. Complete hardwoods on two floors - Melodie recommended a provider to do this work and came up with a special color mixture for the floors. 2. Complete painting of all surfaces - Melodie suggested colors and worked with us to coordinate the colors (11 colors, including walls, ceilings, and trim) 3. Selection of new area rugs - Melodie again sourced the provider and assisted us in our selection of a total of 4 rugs. 4. New carpeting in room over garage - same as above. Melodie sourced the provider and assisted in the selection. 5. Selection and replacement of 7 ceiling fans - same as above. 6. Custom mirror for Powder Room - Melodie assisted us in narrowing down the choices. 7. Decorative/faux finishes - Assistance in color/patter selection, again using a provider in Melodie's network. Melodie is able to listen to what we want, look at what we have, and interpret our taste unerringly. My standards are very high, and I have great confidence in her experience and ability to "pull it all together." She does what she says she'll do and always does it with our budget in mind - she's not one to push for the most expensive thing, only the most appropriate thing. Melodie's network is extensive, so she is able to recommend other providers for related pieces of the job, as needed. If problems arise, she will step up for you. During the kitchen remodel of 3 years ago, there were some potential and significant problems that arose with the granite and with the installation timing. Melodie took over and made it happen to our satisfaction. I recommend her without reservation.
