We are suing for the 40 grand. Angie's List and Home Advisor had them listed as a top rating company. He doesn't have a contracting license, nothing. All together it maybe came to like a weeks worth of work. He took her $40,000 then left. He left her with a big whole around the building. He left her with a broken floor. He left her with broken pool lights. He broke the wiring to the RV, be broke the wiring to the pool, we had to get it redone. His crew stole the copper out of the wire that was in there. The work was never done. Right now she is going to a lawyer to try and get her money back. Contractor kept calling out because of the rain. They were signed in August of 2016, were supposed to have it done by December 2016, it's now July 2017 and it's not done. They would come spend a day or two sit around then wouldn't come back for a month or two. They took the money and walked off. He put roof rafters and he put walls, framing for closets and framing of bathroom. Put in windows and patio door. He dug around the building. He just damaged a lot of stuff, they stole stuff. They could show up. Have a license and actually show up. He lies and doesn't complete what he says he will. Worst is he's not licensed but he says he is. He actually lost his license in 2008. He's still using that old license number.

Called to get an estimate. Took two calls to get Ryan Blackwell to call me back, but he agreed to meet with me for the estimate on a Wednesday. I lived an hour and a half away at the time, so I drove in just for his estimate. After discussing what I wanted done on the house, he said he would get back to me on Monday by emailing an estimate to me. Monday came and went with no email. I waited until Thursday and received no phone call or email. I called him and he told me he had car problems during an out of town trip and he would get the estimate to me the next day. Friday; no estimate.I called again on Monday and left a message. He called back the next day and left a message that he was returning my call. No mention of the estimate. I called again Tuesday. I asked for him on the phone when he answered, but he said "He's not here right now." I then started to explain who I was and about getting the estimate and then he told me it was actually him and he was avoiding phone calls from a vendor in Raleigh. He asked about what I wanted and I had to remind him about what I wanted done to the house. He said he would get an estimate to me in a couple of days. (I am not sure how he could do an estimate if he couldn't remember the job.) A couple of days later he called and left a message to say he had an estimate and to call him back. I called back and left a message to email the estimate to me and gave him my email address again. I never heard from him again, though by this time I had already found a responsive contractor. It never even got to an estimate. If he did not want the job, I wish he had just said so at the beginning and not wasted my time.
