+ 0 moreI was so impressed with Miser Landscaping and service manager Mr. Nunez that I was motivated to write my first Angie's List review. Mr. Nunez, the service manager, met with us to discuss the scope of the work. He was so knowledgable that we decided to hire him to do not only landscape renovation, but drainage and hardscape improvements as well. Mr. Nunez used as many of the existing plants and shrubs as possible, as well as some new perennials, to transform our front and back yard from a jungle into a beautiful, flowing garden. He also fixed a long standing drainage problem for us by installing four french drains and taking out rain barrels that were unused and unwanted. He and Mr. Miser installed a step to match our existing stone hardscape in our back yard (this was not easy as it was curved and required a lot of concrete cutting.) The care Mr. Nunez took to make sure every detail was correct was outstanding. The work was performed quickly, on time, and in budget. I cannot recommend Miser Landscaping highly enough.
Description of Work: Renovated 8 year old landscaping of our front and back yard, which was originally over-planted by a different professional landscape architect. Removed overgrown trees, shrubs, and perennials and replaced with appropriately spaced plantings. Removed pine straw and installed triple shred cedar mulch. Installed new french drains. Installed matching steps to integrate with existing stone hardscaping.

+ 0 moreThey are reasonably priced for the high level of service they provide and they are responsive to any query or complaint—and those are rare. Mr. Miser doesn’t run a jackleg operation, and his service manager Mr. Nunez is on top of every problem. They have been in the Triangle for at least a dozen years, to my knowledge. Most of my immediate neighbors use them either on contract or for single-service jobs. I have never heard a complaint. They are bonded and insured, and he and his team are licensed to apply chemicals. These are the little things you need to check to make sure the team you hire is legitimate, and won’t cause you some of the heartache I’ve had. It isn’t hard to find someone to mow your lawn. It is very hard to find someone who will treat it like their own, and not take shortcuts.
Description of Work: Kind of shocked this is the first review for Miser's. I’ve happily contracted lawn service with this company for about ten years after firing the first three companies for (1) dishonesty, (2) idiocy, and (3) outright incompetence. So yes, it is hard to find a good landscaper. But Miser is good, and at last I am happy. The monthly service plan we have includes all mowing, trimming, all fertilizer and chemical applications, all pruning, and twice yearly seeding as needed. In addition to this, we’ve also retained them to provide a la carte services such as resolving drainage issues, tree removal, minor irrigation repairs, hardscaping, sodding, and the planting and transplanting everything from annuals to trees to entire beds. They also design and install high-end custom lightscaping.
