At first Christian (the Owner) was very good on getting our price for the garage but it went down hill from there. They never came when they said they were going to, never started when they said they were. I had to constantly call them for updates on where he was and when things were going to be finished, we also had to be on top of him to ensure that he called in for inspections which failed every since time for the simplest to items that were major that a contractor should of known to do or ensure were done. Invoice was well over the original price in which they told us, they gave us the final bill which was over $10,000 over the price he told us with no updates or knowledge of in the increase. To this day we are still having issues with the garage which is leaking and there is no communication from them when it will be fixed. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO MY WORST ENEMY! Has only been problems from day one. We are currently suing them for all the issues and the distress of this project.
Description of Work: HandiWorks Home Improvement added a detach garage to our home.

Response from HandiWorks Design Build
This garage project review has many false statements. We are professional company that communicated with the client on a regular basis. We give time frames of when we will be conducting work and due to the nature of this work type of work scheduling can often be subject to change with a reasonable span of time. The price was adjusted due to the clients requests while the project was being conducted. Additions from initial estimate include but are not limited to gables, additional electrical and plumbing work, upgraded trim out, soil grading, removal of materials from other contractors. The time schedule was extended due to weather and availability of sub-contractors. We actually started this project mid August 2013 and finished mid October. Total job time was about 9 weeks to build a garage from concept to finished project. The permitting process is a complicated set of guidelines every contractor must adhere to it is very common for re-inspections to occur in the commission of our work. Many homeowners do not understand the process, which is why we are hired to not only conduct the project, but also to insure that all facets of construction comply with local, state. and national building codes.We have also made repeated attempts to repair a leak around the garage door seal which the client communicated is the only outstanding issue. This client also worked for my company on temporary basis and was dismissed as a subcontractor January of 2014.

He was very responsive and very professional. He did a very good job and I would recommend him to anyone. He will be the first person I call if ever I need any work done on the house.

Christian answered my email inquiry very promptly, came out the next day for a quote, emailed a quote that evening and started work a couple days later! Quality products used and very beautiful carpentry! Very nice guys as well. We will absolutely hire them again.
Description of Work: Christian and David installed and painted crown molding in three bedrooms (including master with a tray ceiling), large hallway and bonus room.
