B and B Roofing installed a new roof on our home in February of 2013. The roof came with insurance and a 5 year warranty. During the June deluge of 2013, one of our skylights started leaking. It took a few weeks and quite a bit of phone tag to get anyone to come over, during which the leak got worse and worse, causing damage to the ceiling drywall. When John and his helper finally did arrive, they said the leak was due to poorly installed flashing (which they had installed with our new roof). The fix only took them 30 minutes or so. When I asked them about fixing the damaged drywall, they said and quot;oh, we don't know who would fix that, and quot; which is difficult to believe. Seems that if their poor work caused the leak which resulted in drywall damage, then they should make a good faith effort to fix it. But I let that one slide... However, a month or so later, another contractor was installing new gutters for us and mentioned that in a few places the shingles don't extend far enough past the roof, and since they didn't install a drip edge with the new roof, this would mean that water could leak behind the gutters, eventually damaging the wood. Sure enough, the next time it rained, I noticed that water was leaking behind the gutters in several places. I called B and B Roofing to have them take a look and see what they could do... but they never called back. I have left 4 or 5 messages -- all very polite I might add. It seems they will not stand behind their work, or honor the insurance or warranty. Very disappointing.
Description of Work: Fixed skylight that leaked due to flashing they installed incorrectly. They have not returned my calls to fix leaks from shingles they installed incorrectly.

They responded to all my questions, did what they said they were going to do. They did have to come back to do some touch ups, but nothing serious. There have been no leaks which tells me they did the job right. They were competitive in their prices ( I had gotten three estimates for the job) and had done work around the neighborhood.
Description of Work: They provided us with a whole new roof.

John Black was a wonderful relief to work with after several companies were less than customer oriented. My wife and I were in the process of making an offer on a home when the inspection revealed some significant roofing damage. The shingles were worn out, there were active leaks in the attic, an attic fan motor was frozen/stalled, and there was a small crack in a rafter. We tried to get several other companies to estimate repairs on the damage -- but because we didn't own the home yet most of the larger roofing contractors wanted a fee for the estimate. In a slow economy, I was appalled at the lack of service other companies were providing. John was quick to respond and provided us with both an estimate on the repairs -- even though it would have been a band-aid on a bullet wound -- and an estimate on a full new roof. He graciously dealt with an eccentric and unaccomodating seller to make sure we had all of the information we needed in front of us. In addition, he was patient as we waited through a 90 day escrow period before we could move in and start the work. Before we closed on the new home, John worked with my wife on color and design choices so that we could go ahead and order the materials. When it came time for us to start, John was at able to begin work the week following our close -- only delayed by the weather. His crew worked diligently through Thursday and Friday to complete the job and did a wonderful job with clean up. In addition to the new roof on our new house, John repaired some minor damage on our old house (fallen shingles, popped nails, and an extra bead of caulk around the plumbing vents and flashing) so that we could have some piece of mind with renters coming in. As this was the first time I had dealt with roofing repairs, and we now own multiple homes, John helped educate me on some ways to save on the cost of replacement -- and we will undoubtedly use him when we replace the roof on our rental house next year.
Description of Work: Removal/ disposal of old shingles and felt paper Replace several pieces of rotted plywood Removal of broken attic fan Replace all plumbing pipe boots, and flashing New felt paper and dimensional shingles. Installed a ridge vent main house and garage.
