Description of Work: One of our toilets was not functioning well and we noticed there was water on the floor near it. Turned out that when my daughter, NOT a plumber installed the new "thingy" in the tank, she did not put it in correctly. So eventually the "thingy" caused a water leak. Sounds simple doesn't it? But we didn't have enough PVC hose so had to go pick up some so that the toilet could function properly. Now it's fixed correctly!!! Didn't really blame my daughter though, at least she tried.

Description of Work: I was concerned about water on the kitchen floor under the dishwasher after heavy rain storms and whether there might be mold and water damage on the outside and/or inside wall. Mike Pearson was on time, checked out the inside wall from both the bottom of the dishwasher and the undersink cabinet which showed no water problems and explained what could have happened and that there did not seem to be any water damage. I was very relieved and appreciated his explanations as I felt he knew what he was talking about. Will definitely call him again for any other problems.

Description of Work: Having moved into a new home 6 months ago, we were told by our builder that his handyman would help us hang antique windows, hang a large mirror and repair a mirror and then hang it. Well after 4 phone calls and no service, we turned to Angie's List and were fortunate to find Acts Construction. Mike responded to our request and called back within 24 hrs and scheduled an appointment within the nest 3 days. He called the night before to confirm that he was coming, called the morning of the 28th to tell us he was on his way and arrived within 10 minutes of the scheduled appointment. He took off his workboots as he did not want to scratch the wooden floors and then got to work. He replaced the hanging brackets on the first mirror, then centered and hung it. He then moved onto hanging our 3 Antique windows in the stairwell and again, got to work and had them hung within 45 minutes. And mind you he put down his grandmother's quilt so he wouldn't scratch the wood on the landing. Finally he hung a very large mirror, which would have taken us all day to do.....we cannot say enough about Mike and are definately having him come back to hang our curved shower rods and hang a final stained glass window.....and yes we let our builder know how great he was!

Description of Work: We had a leak under the sink and gave ACTS Construction a call based on reviews. I described what I saw and Mike was able to troubleshoot the issue over the phone. He was correct in that the issue was with the seal of the garbage disposal and that I would need to replace the unit. I felt comfortable in replacing the garbage disposal myself and he ensured me he would be available if necessary.

Description of Work: Mike Pearson installed a shower pan liner in our new shower in preparation for the tile installer. He also noticed that the plumber had switched our hot and cold water lines and was able to reverse the problem with the approval of the plumber. Mike recommended a great drywall man to finish the bathroom walls. When we realized that Mike was a real "jack of all trades," we asked him to repair the threshold on an outside door that we were having problems opening.

Description of Work: Mike came to my condo and repaired several leaks that had troubled me for weeks; he repaired an old shower faucet which prevented me from buying a new one. He also performed some carpentry for me. He is very versatile in the various tasks he is able to perform.

Description of Work: A leak in our 2nd floor toilet drain seeped down into our kitchen. Mike wasted no time coming to our rescue. Mike easily uncovered the cause to be: my installing the wrong size wax ring compensating for the hight difference when I tiled the bathroom floor. Mike repaired the broken drain plumbing caused by my improper installation, then ran to the hardware store and replaced the wax ring with the correct one.
