He's been working for us for about 30 years. I was very pleased. It was done timely and professionally. His prices were competitive.

It was excellent. I called him up and he came over when he told me he would. He was very professional. They are locals here. They gave me a quote and I was happy with it. The painters were on time and professional. They made the work super easy. They acted professional and finished the job on the time frame they said they would.

It went fine. The gentlemen who came out was very professional and knew what he was doing.

Project went very well with no surprises. The contractor was very responsive to my calls and text messages. I relied on him quite a bit for updates since this was at our 2nd home. At completion, we had a small punch list and he was very quick to knock out those few items. The only negative was the project did take long than originally planned. We had to wait on the solid surface and shower door.

Not well.

Two people came to do the work and finished it all in 1 1/2 days. They both worked hard and don't know if they hardly took breaks. They both were very courteous and worked hard to please. Their work was very good. I will use them again, even though they are a little pricey. It was worth it not to have the stress of problems and mistakes. The owner, David Sasser, sat with us and went over everything. Was very pleasant to talk with.

We were very pleased with the work. We are not living in the area any longer and the home is a rental so we made contact and when we came into the area met with David and discussed what needed to be accomplished. We returned to the area approximately 6 weeks later and all was completed to our satisfaction. We will be requesting a quote again soon on other work. David was very responsive when I called to talk about the project and he contacted me when he had a question. Very pleased.

D S Painting completed touch up paint jobs and a few maintenance items around our home as we prepared for new tenants and came back out to assist with items the tenants asked us to assist with after their move-in. We provided all of the paint and some supplies. Reasonable painting prices and quality contracting work. Paint job looks great. Recommended only necessaries to us--no frills, which I appreciated. Very satisfied with painting/caulking/wood filling. The work was completed within just a few weeks of our first contact despite the time of year--during the heavy military PCS season. We were not as satisfied with the handyman aspect of his business--the tenants mentioned that the contractor sent to do minor things "didn't know what he was doing." Eek! That said, the job got done in a timely manner. I am not physically in North Carolina and much of my communication with this company is via email. The owner, David Sasser, is very pleasant, but he does not read my emails thoroughly and/or respond to them as quickly as I expect. He does answer the phone quickly, but asks that I email him too. There is a lot to be desired by way of clear communication. I feel compelled to repeat things and resend emails and details over the course of our interactions together to ensure things get done. I trust that he has a good eye and will make any necessary repairs, but like any contractor in this area it is really hard to find someone that really follows through with directions and is inherently thorough. For instance, he had to send his contractor out again to remove the vinyl border that was supposed to be removed prior to tenant move-in because I was charged for it, but it had not yet been completed. He accepts cash, check or credit. We paid via check and it made it easy to do business despite the distance. Although this is not a "fire-and-forget" contractor, D S Painting completes the work quickly, and I will work with this business again in the future if my tenants have any issues that require a licensed/insured contractor and/or in between tenants.

He explained in detail and answered all questions I asked while he was doing the work. Mike K was awesome.

I am very happy with all the services I have received from D S Painting. The windows were installed quickly and professionally. The room looks great and has definitely increased the value of my home. I hired them again to paint my porch and repair some wood (columns/porch railings/roof). Again, the job was done very well. I would 100% use them in the future.

Hard to get a start date of work. Very professional and courteous workers. I didn't like color of one room, so recently repainted it and looking closer saw spills and messes I hadn't seen at inspection. They could have done a better job in some places. But, if I wanted the house repainted again I would use them - way better than doing it myself.

I initially contacted them in January, but the weather was not very cooperative so it took some time for the job to actually take place in full. However, I cannot fault them for that and they worked their butts off every chance they got. They were always on time when they said they were going to be there. It was only a question of whether the weather would allow them or not. There was one hiccup during the painting process where one of the workers damaged some of the paneling on the house. Initially, they denied causing it, but eventually fessed up to it. The did fix it good as new, however, they did partially charge me for it which was kinda crappy in my opinion. As far as the painting and pressure washing, they did a great job. If you have painting needs, I would recommend them. I did experience frustration with the door replacement job I had them do. I know that it's not the company's primary focus (it's called D&S Painting after all), but they took quite a while getting the doors and finally doing the job. I mean, it was not until April that they finally returned to complete the job. Additionally, the doors they brought were not white. That meant they had to come back and paint them and charge me for that as well. The doors were for a downstairs bonus room that didn't require a fine finish to them, but they did need to be white. They really couldn't have ordered white doors? So I waited two extra months for doors that were the wrong color and cost me more money. That being said, the doors were installed professionally and the work is great. I just feel like because I own a beach front home, I was charged more "because I can afford it." Should three doors (external/fiberglass/weatherproof) and their installation really cost $1800? Bottom line: they do good quality work and show up on time, but not sure if it's the best price on non painting jobs.

They did a great job. Everything was just what you expected. They are professional, courteous, and they have timely service. The cost matched the estimate. The work was superior.

The team of three did two coats on all the walls and upper trim and were done in about 5 hours. They also replaced some bulbs, patched some cracks; bottom line, they did it all. I would happily call them back for more work.

They replaced a door, hung some plywood, repaired a soffit, and did some plumbing repair. It is great to contact one person to knock out most any job, we were very pleased with the quality of work and the people with whom we worked.

We are not going with them. They quoted $ 4215 for exterior painting that is to replace the wood on the outside and paint over it. Compared to the others in the area, and compared to other quotes we got, they seemed a little pricey.

David returned my call quickly to set up an appointment for an estimate. He was very professional, showed up on time, and asked questions to ensure we were both on the same page. He did not try to up-sell me or get me to pay for any services that I didn't need or want. David DID NOT ask for money up front as some other companies that I received estimates from did for paint, and materials. The work was done ahead of schedule, was very professionally done, and exactly what I was hoping for. When the painters were done they took all of the trash with them. The house looked GREAT! I am very satisfied with the entire process and will be calling them back if I need any paining done in the future.

They were excellent and they were very professional.

DS Painting and Home Improvement replaced some water-damaged laminate-wood flooring, painted the exterior and interior of our two-story vacation rental. We called them and they came over and gave us a fair estimate. Their job list of things to repair included replacing an interior door, hanging wood blinds, replacing hardware and a few odds & ends. They started their work in the time promised, and, after having an unexpected delay of having to select a new flooring, finished just in time for our deadline. They also cleaned up after themselves nicely. We were happy with the finished product, but had to remind him of the deadline towards the end of the job. Overall, we were pleased and consider them a trustworthy and dependable company to do business with.

THEY DO QUALITY WORK AND TAKE CARE TO KEEP THE WORK AREA CLEAN. THERE WERE A COUPLE OF THINGS I WAS NOT HAPPY ABOUT AFTER THE JOB WAS DONE AND THEY CAME BY TO REMEDY THE SITUATION TO MY COMPLETE SATISFACTION. MR. SASSER IS VERY INTERESTED IN CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AND WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO DELIVER THAT.

HE PAINTED OUR FOYER. WAS SO PROFESSIONAL, THOROUGH, SHOWED UP WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD, CALLED RIGHT BACK AND DID A GREAT JOB.
