I highly recommend working with Dr. Drain. We are currently under contract for a house that has a leaking jacuzzi tub. Upon further inspection, Ted from Dr. Drain determined a jet would need to be replaced. He researched the part and determined that we would need to find a company that specializes in jacuzzi tubs. Although Dr. Drain did not end up performing the repair, we had a great experience with them. Ted was punctual for our appointment and called me promptly to let me know what he found. In addition, Dr. Drain has absolutely the best admin staff. Because we're under contract, we had to coordinate several schedules, including our real estate agent, the sellers' real estate agent, and us. I had to call Crystal at Dr. Drain several times with updates and revisions on scheduling and logistics, and every time Crystal was courteous, friendly, and helpful.

Our tenants were without facilities and our efforts to clear were unsuccessful. Ted came out the same day we called and had the line cleared within 30 minutes. This was a difficult clog that was over 100 feet from the access. Ted was knowledgeable, friendly and prompt. Very professional!

Our home was on the market for sale and under contract when our gas water heater bit the dust. We were living in our new location and after getting this information we called our home warranty program who sent out Dr Drain to confirm that the water heater was leaking. The height of the new water heater needed for the original location is no longer manufactured and we needed an alternative. The Dr Drain plumber told me that we could replace the gas water heater with an electric model in the same space or put in a tankless on the outside of the home. He estimated that a tankless would be about $3700. I was somewhat shocked as I had done some research in the past and that seemed a tad high. I asked this company to provide me with estimates for both options and never heard from them again. I contacted another company and they put a tankless in for $2750.

Sorry you were unhappy with our service. We do our best. I am not sure what the other plumbing was going to install for you at that price. We stand behind the products we install for a full year on parts and labor. We also give the price up front with no surprises at the end. I am sure we should get an F. A few months back, I had noticed a hole in the ceiling of the laundry room on the main floor of my home. After looking around, I figured there must be something wrong with the plumbing from the upstairs sink. I turned the water to the sink off. When looking in Angie's List, I found Dr. Drain, and he seemed to have one of the highest ratings. I noticed that he was about 20 miles from my house, but I called anyway because they were rated so highly. I set up a time for them to come to my house. He arrived very promptly and diagnosed the problem, and told me he could fix it right away. So I told him to go ahead and he started. He showed me the old pipe with the hole in it. Then he put in a new pipe and put the dry wall back in the ceiling. I noticed after he had gone that he had even swept the floor of my laundry room when he was finished. This was a great experience.
Description of Work: The plumber found a hole in a pipe under a 2nd story sink that had caused water to go through the ceiling in the room below. He had to cut a hole in the ceiling downstairs in order to diagnose the problem. Once he found a hole in the pipe, he replaced the pipe with new pipe and placed the drywall back in the ceiling. I still have to have someone come and patch the drywall, but he explained that before he started the work.

What a refreshing experience to deal with a professional who didn't try to convince me that I needed something that I really don't need.
Description of Work: I've had problems with my washing machine draining and I thought it might be the custom owner- (me) installed drain configuration. It's in a basement and therefore has to overcome gravity to get into the septic drain. Ted came over punctually and professionally told me that my setup was correct and that it was more likely the washing machine pump that needed replacing. He did say that the additional of a studer valve would allow better venting, but since the washing machine was draining fine until just recently that even that was probably not necessary. I''m planning to get a new washing machine and if that doesn't drain adequately I'll be calling Dr. Drain to install the studer.

I am new to the area and scheduled one plumber to install a tankless hot water heater (I was going to buy one online and wanted his input) well, by the time he got back to me it was either sold out or ordering one from Home Depot (what a nightmare) would have taken 14 days to arrive (there were other problems too numerous to mention0. Actually, Miller and Miller electrical told me to look up Dr. Drain on Angieslist when they called to confirm their own appointment. His office person, Crystal, had him out at my place that afternoon, He discussed my options including just fixing the existing water heater (tank) and gave me an exact fiqure on what the repairs would cost. He also told me that it was a good thing I didn't get a tankless online because while they may be a few hundred dollars cheaper, if they broke, I would have a hard time finding someone who could repair it or in some cases find the parts needed. He was there the next morning doing the work having promised me I would have hot water by the end of the day. The second time today I can honestly say you would not go wrong picking Dr. Drain.
Description of Work: Installed a pressure valve regulator and a tankless hot water heater. Was knowledgeable and suggested I just repair my existing water heater (tank) to save money. Went ahead with the full job. This is the second contractor I have dealt with today that if you choose him, you can't go wrong -but then again I only dealt with Ted, the owner.

I called at 12:40 because I knew my pipes were beginning to back up. This is a recurring issue as I have an older house with a large tree growing very near them, and I'm familiar with the symptoms. I had called another place listed because I couldn't remember who had been out the last time. That previous call was not very pleasant, and the admin had seemed intent more on making sure I knew there would be a service fee for coming out, and extra for Saturday (even though they were 1.7 miles away), than my actual problem. I didn't want to choose them, so i researched again. This time my call was answered right away by a very pleasant admin, and when I gave my name and address, she immediately remembered me from the last time they came out (two tears ago). I was impressed. When I asked if they could come out that day, she said they could be there in fifteen minutes (up to 1 1/2 hours). Again, I was impressed. The owner, himself, of the company showed up within about 45 minutes, was very polite and professional, spoke with me about options of a possible regular schedule, and quickly and efficiently snaked out the line for a reasonable price. I couldn't have asked for better service. I would definitely call them again, and recommend them to anyone who asks. Thanks Dr. Drain!

We had been dealing with a number of small but annoying plumbing problems and finally decided to call a plumber. We were fortunate enough to call DR Drain on Friday morning and schedule an appointment for later that day. Ted arrived and was very professional and knowledgeable as he immediately began to address our various problems. The work was performed and completed in a timely manner at a very reasonable cost. We are extremely pleased with the quality of the services provided and will definitely use this company in the future.

I ended up having an extended argument, in which Dr. Drain's Technician said the original installation was faulty and therefore not covered. They did it as a contractor for a warranty company and of course the warranty company likely wanted a reason to not have to honor the contract. Subsequently, other well-known companies that came out, or talked with me on the phone, and confirmed that the problem was misdiagnosed. The work was started last November and it has gone on till at least August this year. Since they were working for the warranty company, they were working for was the warranty company, I paid just the deductible which was $45. They offered to solve the problem for me by selling me a new recirculation pump for $650. I subsequently sued the warranty company because they would not honor their warranty, and then they honored it and sent me a check back for the money I had paid to my plumber. Dr. Drain had no credibility to me-they sent the same guy back several times and the guy basically seemed committed to what he first said which was that it was incorrectly installed, so it was not covered. The one person that came out from Dr Drain was very smug and self assured and unwilling to listen to any other information.

I had re-occuring clog which I'd successfully snaked once, but that did not help for long, and I was not able to successful snake the clog a second time. Based upon what I described, they thought they would have to take the toilet off to fix, but the plumber tried snaking it first, for which he could tell there was something there. It took a few tries, but he was successful with the auger. He tested several times to make sure it was flushing normally. He did not expect it to happen, but he told me that if the clog reoccurred he'd come back out as a part of the same job and remove the toilet to clear the clog for $25. It's been almost a month and the toilet is working normally.

Chalk this bad experience up to customer stupidity, because I forgot to ask beforehand how much the visit would cost. The repairman was here approximately five minutes and we were charged $155: a flat rate of $100 plus a service fee of $55.00. Their Angie's List discount was taken from the flat fee, otherwise the flat fee would have been $115.00. The repairman was on time, courteous, etc.--i.e., professional--and he did explain somethings about the disposal unit to my wife (I was not there), so we got a bit of added value, I suppose. But I was furious with the amount charged, especially since he did not do anything I had not already tried with a broom handle as described in my owner's manual--except that my broom handle is metal and didn't do the trick like a wooden handle would have. So if you have this problem at home, do it yourself or find someone with a wooden broom handle to avoid an outrageous rate of pay of $1,860.00 an hour!!!!!

They showed up on time to both appointments, worked quickly and efficiently, and were very friendly. The price was steep, but I don't think anyone else would have done it cheaper -- I mean they had to dig a 6 foot deep hole in my yard! The initial diagnosis was on Saturday before Thanksgiving. I called to schedule the dig on Monday morning -- my yard was marked for electrical lines and permits were pulled, the work was completed on Friday. Given that it was a holiday week, I thought they moved rather quickly.
Description of Work: The pipe that carries waste water away from my house had been experiencing a backup. I called Dr. Drain and they snaked the pipe, but determined there was likely a break in the pipe causing damage. We scheduled them to come out and dig up our sewer line to check for problems. They came out a few days later to dig in the yard and did find a leaky connection in the pipes. They repaired the pipe connection, in addition to putting a camera through the pipes to check for other problems, and treating my pipe system with a product that helps kill tree roots invading pipes.
