Dr Drain Plumbing

Our 1978 faucets were difficult to replace; Dr Drain's plumber did the work expertly in an hour and a half. Our 1978 single lever bathtub faucet was rebuilt by the same plumber in just over 15 minutes and has not dripped since! We are very satisfied with the work and the price after an initial misunderstanding on the price quotes and application of the discount. An experienced and professional plumbing company all around.

He came and cleared a clogged sink drain. Also provided an assessment of two slow-draining tubs and what it would take to fix those. I was surprised to be charged a trip charge in addition to what I was already paying for the service. It was an additional $75 or so. I would think the trip charge would be charged if we had decided not to have any service provided. That way, the visit wasn't done for nothing. But since we bought $200 worth of service, I felt as though there shouldn't also be a trip charge. Other than that, I was happy with it. On-time, friendly, knowledgeable.

I asked why the price was not disclosed up front since I had specifically requested dishwasher install and the technician reflected "the girl who takes the service calls does not understand or look at the orders. I ended up having to still use the coupon but couldn't afford the dishwasher install. The plumber rebuilt two valves and it still cost me 160 dollars !!!! The coupon was supposed to be good toward $120 worth of work which means the total cost for this job was really 220 dollars. Horrible and expensive for a single mom that just moved into a fix er upper home.

Plumber was very professional and courteous. Clearly explained the process and what could possibly arise. Thankfully things went smoothly. Only gave a B on price because it turned out we had some european brand that was more expensive to repair.

Everything went fine, the work was done quickly and efficiently. I am unsure if 300 is a good price or not, but I believe that a good quality job was done and I am happy with that. I would use this company again.

When I called to ask about their availability and price, they quoted their regular price, which included a trip charge; I had to ask specifically about the coupon. This made me cautious in dealing with them. They resisted my preference to switch brands of disposal and said it would be much better to keep the same brand. I went with their recommendation because I have no skills in this area and didn't want to run into problems. I obtained the disposal and then called to schedule. The plumber arrived promptly and performed the installation. When I ran the dishwasher the next day, it did not drain properly. I called back and they told me that the problem was simple and could be fixed quickly; the plumber had neglected to remove a plug when installing the disposal. We scheduled the work and he arrived and made the fix. He was very apologetic. Having to come home from work on a second day was inconvenient, but they were timely and made the fix quickly.

Excellent service. From the time I contacted Dr. Drain Plumbing, they came within 48 hours. Ryan arrived early, explained the work and associated costs, and cleaned up when he finished. I am very pleased with the service and definitely will use Dr. Drain again.

Full Disclosure: I purchased a deal through Angie's List that lowered my total out of pocket expense to below the stated cost of service. The stated cost is the total before my deal was applied. I bought the deal on Angie's List to give Dr. Drain a try and also to save myself some money on an unexpected repair I needed done. I would not hesitate to contact Dr. Drain again! My scheduled window was 9am -11am. Ryan arrived on time, was polite and friendly, and quickly figured out that I needed the supply lines replaced on my sink. Even though I had not specifically mentioned a toilet that runs non-stop when scheduling my appointment, he also took a look at it and replaced the flapper as well as diagnosed that it was over-filling. He took the time to explain what was wrong with both the sink and toilet and to show me how he could tell what the issues were. He also gave tips on things that I need to keep an eye on or have replaced/repaired in the future. He also suggested that I let the water utility know that I had professional repairs done in an effort to try to get my very high water bill adjusted. Even if they won't lower my bill, I appreciated that he suggested it. I am very pleased with the service provided today, and will call Dr Drain again for future plumbing needs. I love supporting small businesses that do quality work!

The experience went very well. He walked me through all the diagnostics and let me know what options would be available to me if the issue were found to be more serious. He started off with Snaking the toilet as that would be the most cost-efficient for me, which is nice to know he would do and gave me some confidence that they were not looking to try to gouge me in any way. Once the job was don, he cleaned up the work area and he was on his way. Very professional and overall a good experience
