Smoothly and quickly. Everyone was courteous and professional and cleaned up nicely after completion.

The price was good, in the mid-range of quotes we received, and both the estimate visit and the quote were prompt and detailed. This was a complex job, involving the removal of large trees very near the house, and excluding treefall or the use of heavy equipment over a substantial area to avoid damage to a septic field. We expected the work would be completed in 4 days. The work began on time, although the owner somehow forgot to provide the detailed work order I had requested. A crew was on site each day until the job was complete, but only Monday and Wednesday did they work beyond early afternoon, so the job stretched info a fifth day. As is typical for jobs of this size, the ongoing work revealed other trees that needed to be removed or trimmed, and those were handled at no extra cost. When a neighbor asked about getting a tree for firewood, the crew cut it to length, loaded it on his trailer and towed it arould the block to his driveway at no charge. Most work was handled carefully and professionally, by climbing the tree to the top and bringing it down in roped-off sections. We had issues with the way 3 trees were handled: - On Tuesday evening the primary climber and cutter returned hours after everyone else had gone, and proceeded to climb, top and drop a towering pine at the corner of the house, by himself and in the gathering dark. - On Wednesday a sizable oak was dropped into the protected area between the septic tank and drain field because, the boss said, his buddy who installs septic systems had told him it would be safe to do so, as long as he placed logs on either side of the septic line as a buffer. Unfortunately, he misjudged the trajectory of the tree, which glanced off the buffer logs and hit the ground hard. - On Thursday a large dead oak that we had agreed would be dropped into an adjoining wooded area was dropped instead along the edge of the yard, to make it more accessible to acquaintances of the crew who wanted it for firewood. But they were only able to load about 2/3 of the wood onto their truck and trailer, and failed to return for the remainder, leaving us to dispose of the unwanted wood. Tree services aren't known for their great dedication to cleanup, and AJ's is no exception. After the job was paid off and the crew departed, we discovered that considerable debris that should have been chipped and hauled away instead had been tossed into the woods. We had to drag out large branches and cut them up for disposal, along with the intended firewood that was left behind. On the whole, we were unsatisfied with cleanup. So: Fair price, prompt response, and the multiday job was completed roughly within the expected time. But: A few lapses of judgment, and a substandard effort at cleanup, clouded our satisfaction with what otherwise would have been an A-rated job.

at first it was going well the first day thier equitment broke they left and came back the next day and had another equipmnet problem. It took them two weeks to actually take the tree down. When the trees came down they were imbeded in the ground. So I am now left with a downed tree in my yard that hasn't been broken down. So when I spoke to the tree company (more six times) they said they would be out. They were always a no show. And again I am left with a tree downed in my yard not broken all the way down and my yard is now a mess as a result of the work that they didn't finish. I would not recommend that you use his services

Wayne and his crew are the best! They're reasonable, reliable, experienced, and clean up after they finish! And they're nice guys too. Can't go wrong using them.

They are excellent. I have been using them for years and years. Every time I have a tree that has fallen or need to come down. I call them and they come all the way out here. They are reasonable and dependable. They will be moving some shrubs for me in the future, whenever their schedule gets lighten up.

I had used this company before joining Angie's List. I seem to call them every year as no job is to large or to small for them. The workers did not even take a lunch break and worked at a steady pace. There were four workers in all, plus Wayne. When they finishied with the trimming and the tree work, they cleaned the yard of the debris. I will use them again. Not only were they hard workers, but they were polite and courteous. I appreciate that. They go all over and are not just limited to the Durham/Raleigh/Hillsborough area.

They did a ton of work and I was very happy with the results - they did not disappoint.
