They don't tell you some of the details about their contract over the phone. I cancelled my contract with them because it was too expensive, it costs $800-$900 a year. After several months, I started getting bills. I paid $140.05 for cancelling or terminating my contract early which they did not tell me initially when I signed up. Part of my contract with Sears includes free preventative check on my furnace so I asked them to send someone to check on my furnace. They sent a technician from a company named Temprite Air Conditioning, Heating, Refrigeration. Temprite told me I owe them $100 for the furnace diagnostic even though Sears Home Warranty told me that I don't owe anything from Temprite. I am still using Sears Home Warranty for Sears Protection Plan which is good.

They thoroughly inspect all my appliances to be certain they are all working properly. They are always on time and are great about last minute rescheduling. I am very pleased with the services and plan to use them again in the future.

I wanted to get them out before the three years were up on the dishwasher. They came out to check out my dishwasher and they arranged for a service call to replace some parts. They are going to be coming back next week to replace the front panel. We didn’t pay them anything when they last came out because we had paid for the service agreement. They were fine once they showed up, but we had a different date scheduled. I was actually waiting for them and they never showed up. When I was waiting for them, they called and told me to call them to reschedule my appointment. I was already waiting for them for a couple of hours by the time I got that phone call. So, I was pretty pissed off because I had rescheduled my whole day waiting for them. Everything was fine once they rescheduled with me and they showed up. It was quick and the guy was courteous. He did what he said he was going to do. If it is a really good deal when I buy the appliance, then I would buy the agreement. I don’t usually buy these things and it depends on what the item is. So, I would not choose Sears service ever over other services.

I have a warranty with them for parts and labor for the central air conditioner. I feel they are charging people unfairly because they are charging for a warranty on the parts even though they are already on the factory warranty. I do not see the reason to pay Sears for parts when the factory already has them covered. As far as the installation, I felt the pricing was worth the cost to install the unit; it was reasonable. The workmen were clean and nice, and they were on time and professional.
