Eanes Heating And Air Conditioning

We recently purchased our home and wanted to have the HVAC PMd before the warm season. The previous owners weren't the most proactive when it came to maintaining a home so the overall health of the system worried me. I searched Angie's List and found Eanes Heating and Air with their positive reviews and phoned them to schedule an appointment. When I called and explained to the young lady my reason for contacting them, she immediately pulled up the calendar and said she could have someone out later the same day. The service tech (David) arrived and went right to work inspecting my system. It was obvious he was very knowledgeable and I felt confident in his assessment. Once he finished he went over each step of his work and gave me a detailed report of his findings. With our previous home we used another provider just because they were the ones that installed the HVAC system. Eanes is head and shoulders above the other company as far as service provided during the PM. I decided to purchase the yearly maintenance program from Eanes based on this very positive experience and I feel confident I won't be disappointed in my decision.

It was fine. Everything was fixed. The cost wasn't unreasonable. They gave us a quote for a new system that was cheaper than other company. Two technicians came out.

They did a great job! Did everything they said they would. Only issue I had was hearing back from them about the estimate and the schedule day of work. Had to call at least three times to find out when they were coming to do the work and to get the estimate.

The date of November 1 is approximate. I called EANES HVAC to have a new humidifier added to the house. I don't remember the tech's name. He showed up 5 minutes early for a 12:30 appointment. My wife talked with him. He seemed agitated that I was not there 5 minutes early. He said he had to be in Winston for an estimate at 1:00pm and he didn't have much time. This told me he was already not taking my job seriously. He scheduled another appointment in Winston very close to mine. When I arrived at 12:27pm, I told him I wanted a Aprilaire Bypass humidifier as the primary house humidifier and a Skuttle steam humidifier as a secondary humidifier. The controls and operation of both were completely separate. The Skuttle was already installed but was not wired correctly. He threw his hands up in the air and said he could not help me. Even when pressed, he refused to explain why he could not help me. I can certainly understand if someone decides not to work for me. I totally get that. No problem. But to not even give me an explaination, that really p***** me off. I called the guy's boss, someone named "John". He waited three(3) hours until 5:15pm then decided to call me at my work number, after I went home for the day. Dissed again! I am not sure why EANES has such high Angie's List ratings. My guess is they have family and friends give BS ratings. I was less than thrilled. Be wary.

I've been using Eanes for about eight years, and I've always been happy with its services. The company responds quickly, its technicians are knowledgeable and friendly, and their work is top-notch.

We received other quotes and a few even told us that we needed a new heating system. Eanes investigated the system and came to a conclusion that it was only a couple or parts that needed replacing. I would highly recommend them.

They were very polite. They needed to order a part and they called to let me know that the part was delayed by a day. Their prices were fair and seemed reasonable.

Appointment was very timely and service man showed up on time. Work completed, and explained completely. AC made it through another summer.

Went great! Going to purchase their annual service contract in the spring. It's a great value and I trust their technicians.

Stan was fantastic. He was prompt, courteous, pet the dog and got to work. He fixed everything and when I pointed out an area of the leaky ductwork he missed, he went back to the truck, got his supplies back out and finished the job. I would highly recommend this company.

The $94 tune up coupon is well worth the money. Stan Blinson and his new trainee, Ario did an outstanding job. Appointment Time: Excellent. My appointment was between 2-4 and they arrived around 3PM. Performance: They immediately went to work removing panels on my HVAC unit and inspecting it. Stan explained everything he was doing for both my and his trainee's benefit. Heating elements were removed, cleaned and re-installed. Wiring was repaired. The heating and cooling internals were inspected. The interior areas were also cleaned. All panels were re-installed and the unit tested. We discussed a yearly plan for both my units. I was very impressed with their work and professionalism. I purchased the provider's coupon through Angie's List for seasonal/routine furnace maintenance. They responded quickly to schedule my appointment. The technician was punctual, and very thorough. I appreciate the time he took to inform about my furnace and AC unit since I'm new in my house. I would recommend this company and use them again in the future.

The original discounted service was to PM one HAVC unit only. I thought it was for the entire service call. I have two units so I decided to PM both units while the tech was on site. The tech did a very good job with PM. I was with him the entire time and was able to learn much about maintaining my units. Based on this, I decided to do a yearly PM service contract with EANES. I was given the original discount off the yearly service. I am very satisfied with the work completed and the final outcome.

The technician seemed knowledgeable, explained what he was doing and found a small issue and repaired it. He also changed the filters. The tune-up was performed very well. Scheduling was satisfactory.

After having someone come out to "clean my ducts", my HVAC and the left side of my house was shaking. The cold air returns were working overtime pulling in much more air than normal. I knew something was wrong, but couldn't figure out why it was started acting so strangely. Eric S had recently came out because a capacitor blew (I'm guessing for the same reason mentioned above). But he was so helpful with the previous emergency repair, I signed up for the yearly service (2 trips). When he came out to clean my system, he discovered the cause, which was rafter insulation in the main air return under the house. My air exchange was also dirty with leaves and pollen. Once he removed the insulation and cleaned my system, it ran like new! My Heating/cooling systems cost a lot of money, almost as much as some cars. It only makes sense to have them serviced so they will operate correctly and provide years of good service. I'm very pleased with my quiet efficient system, and I'm sure I will recover the cost of the service with a lower electric bill and my "like new" HVAC system. Great job!!!!

Quickly and professionally, the appointment time was set for the next day, the appointment time was met, the problem diagnosed quickly and repaired for a reasonable price. What more can you ask for?

I joined Angie's List specifically to narrow down finding an HVAC contractor to replace my mother's heat pump and air handler. Eanes was rated highly and so I got a quote from them and two other companies. I am glad I joined Angie's List - this was a great company to work with. First, Doug was the salesperson. I met with him on a Friday at 2:00 and he said he would email me a quote later that day. At around 4:00, I received an e-mail with a quote with 3 different options and backup information on the different choices. I liked the way he presented the information and did not feel like he was trying to sell me more than we really needed. The installation was an entire day process. Doug arrived on time in the morning just to explain the process. Brian and Jeremy did the installation and did an exceptional job. They had worked together for a number of years at Eanes (I think 6 or more years), and so worked well as a team. It is a good sign that Eanes must be a good company to work for if they stayed with the company for that long. Since they probably have done over a thousand installations over the years, they were able to explain the process as they completed their work. There was quite a bit to do to remove the old system (outside and inside units) and install the new system. They accurately predicted when the electrician would arrive to do his work and when one of their coworkers would arrive to install the thermostat and turn on the system. They said it would be between 5-6 when the system would be turned on and they were correct. The county inspector arrived the following week to do the inspection and did not find any problems. After the inspection, we received a bill and paid for the work. The system has worked great since it was installed. I would highly recommend this company.

He arrived punctually and told me what I needed to keep my air conditioner running without any problems in the future. Cleaned and installed a new filter throughout the system. My line was stopped up on the outside of my house so water was leaking into my basement and making a problem for me. He immediately was able to access the problem and cleaned out the line. He also looked at my oil furnace and told me about problems to look for since my system was an old one. I was very pleased with my servbice and would be glad to call on them in the future. Because they do offer an annual service agreement I am going to sign up so I will not have to be concerned with whom I will contact when a problem like this arises.

This service was for a rental property with non-functioning A/C in the summer heat. I scheduled the appointment and coordinated with my tenant and property manager. The service provider stated they arrived at the house and no one was home. My tenant indicates she was home the entire morning waiting for them. I called the service provider's office to try to reschedule, but the next appointment would be at least 24 hours later, so I requested a refund. I met a little resistance on this as two separate people in the office stated the technician waited for 30 minutes; this conflicts with the invoice they sent me which clearly indicates 16 minutes between arrival and departure time. So I don't really know what happened. I wasn't there thus I'm caught between the service provider's statements and my tenant's version of events. I requested a refund on the deal and Angie's List complied.

Quality wise Eanes is a very good company. They are very professional, communicated very well and showed up on time. The technician was skilled and enjoyed explaining things regarding A/C functioning and their services. He also cleaned the external unit better than his well-known competitor did last year. My only complaing is regarding cost, especially on the Freon side as there isn't much difference on cost per Lb after first pound. Last year I paid overall 50% less for the same service and to get the same outcome (my A/C worked as it is doing now). That time I got a sale price on the Tune-up (50% off) and the Freon was about 40% less after the 1st pound. I was aware of their price as they did very well on the communication, nonetheless, I decided I would give it a shot and change provider this time as I had issues with appointments cancelled last minute with the previous contractor as well as to see if I would eventually get something else out of this service, but I didn't figure it out other than the better unit clean-up. Bottom line, Yes I would definitely use them again, but will make sure I shop around for prices before taking a decision.

My A/C broke yesterday late afternoon. It was extremely HOT and the house started heating up quickly. Eric S arrived at my house at 9:00 PM (several other individuals were in front of me) and he quickly identified the issue. He checked the inside unit first, then looked at my outside air exchanger. I had a bad capacitor. He showed me the capacitor, which looked like a rather small can that was popped out at the top. He had one on his truck and quickly changed it and had everything up and running! I was so pleased! I have used Eanes before and was pleased with their previous service. I thought on a late Friday problem, I would be very lucky if I could get anyone out here to fix my AC, I guess yesterday was my lucky day (or at least it turned out that way). Eric had a positive attitude and I appreciate his effort to fix my AC. Thanks Eanes!

While here noticed and pointed out a problem with the humidity pump under the house (wasn't connected). Gave options on addressing that now versus the fall.

Eanes Heating And Air Conditioning was first contacted in October 2012 as part of an Angies Big Deal A/C tuneup for 49 dollars. I thought the work they did was outstanding and I subsequently initiated an annual maintenance contract with them. At the time of the awful Polar Vortex and its terribly cold weather in January 2014 the heat went out on the first floor. To make matters worse, I had pneumonia. Eanes came to the house the day I called, ordered the needed part, and had the system functioning perfectly. They are highly competent, courteous, and efficient. Eanes is an outstanding family-owned business (I mistakenly thought that it was a franchise) and they take great pride in their work and customer satisfaction. I'm currently selling my house and will enthusiastically recommend Eanes to the buyers.
