 + 0 moreI received estimates from numerous companies for this job and I found Castlelights to be the best overall estimate for 3 reasons: 1) price, 2) expertise, 3) detail of quote. Upon completion of the job, we believe that we made the correct choice. The overall cost was very reasonable for the amount of work (it took a full 3 days for 2 guys). Other estimates we got were just as much or more for the same job but with lower cost/quality lights. As for expertise, it was obvious that they were knowledgeable in this field - probably because landscape lighting is their only focus. They made numerous suggestions of what would look good from a design perspective that we would not have thought of. Then, they used a variety of methods to hide the wires like utilizing the gaps between concrete slabs, using existing irrigation conduits and running wires inside downspouts. They did the job very professionally with attention to detail and cleaned up nicely afterwards. We were very pleased.
Description of Work: This company does landscape lighting (this should really be a separate category from just landscaping). They installed a complete/elaborate landscape lighting system for our home consisting of 23 different lights including path lights, niche lights, bullet lights and well lights. This company installs only high-end quality products. They do not install the lights you would buy at a hardware store. The cost of the lights themselves are a significant part of the cost, but you really are getting a better product for your money. As far as installation, the devil is in the details. Anybody can jam some lights into the ground and wire them together, but there are some very important details that must be planned out/carried out for a professional installation - like how to run lines across the driveway, where to put the transformer, how to put lights onto separate circuits so that they can be controlled separately.
