GOLD KING

Martha and Marty are my favorite people!! I can not rave enough about this awesome company!! Their environment is so welcoming and the absolutely pay the best prices! I went to 4 places to sell an item and the guys at Gold King blew their offers out of the water! I’ll never go to a different shop! All around a fantastic experience!

If I could give this business 0 stars, I would. The place is a disorganized mess pile of mostly junky looking items. It looks like a low-end yard sale. If you want to purchase gold or silver bullion, I would make the drive to Gastonia or Charlotte and completely avoid this place. The staff was rude and dismissive and made me feel as if I was an intrusion. Most businesses respond to negative Google reviews by being accommodating and offering to make amends to customers where less than satisfactory service was offered. I noticed on the negative reviews, the business doesn't take any responsibility, is defensive and always places the blame on the customer. This is very unprofessional and speaks volumes about how they run their business. If you are a serious buyer or seller of gold/silver coins, go to their competitor where you will be treated with respect and not be treated as a nuisance.

A+++ I highly recommend taking any jewelery or antiques to the Gold King on Startown Road in Hickory. I recently had to part with some jewelery and took my items to several gold/jewelery shops in Hickory to be appraised. The Gold King offered me the most and didn't try to haggle me like those other shops. Marty, who I spoke with, was very courteous, welcomed me and started offering help as soon as I walked in. All of my questions were answered and he really seemed to have the most knowledge when it comes to jewelery and antiques compared to other shops. I was paid in cash and even escorted out the door to make sure I made it to my car safe.

The experience was very good. They explained how they tested the gold and it was a quick transaction.

It was a comparable price compared to other providers in the area. I felt the man was a grumpy but he was very straight forward. I probably would go back again but at the time at the same time I could easily go to someone else.

They experience was great. He and his wife are good people.
