Description of Work: I'm getting ready to have an open house, I broke a pane of my thermal window. I contacted this company, who sent someone out to measure it. That should have been my first clue. He arrived in non-logo t-shirt, shorts and sandals but with no measuring tape. Said he'd left it in the other truck, and asked to borrow mine, then tried twice to buy it. He said it would take about 2 weeks to get a new window. Two weeks later, not having heard anything, I contacted them. Seems they hadn't even STARTED trying to get the window. WDS said they would have to submit an estimate, and I would have to pay at least 1/2 up front and THEN it would take 2 weeks to get it back. I didn't want to use them after all that, but they did have my measurements, and we were set to close in 2 weeks, so I agreed, and paid more than half. The day of closing, I called the company again, and was told it wasn't in yet, but they could install it the next week. At this point I had to turn it over to the realtor, because we had already moved out, and were on our way to our new house--in another state! The window was finally installed Oct. 3--took them 47 days and 20 minutes to put that in. I found Window and Door Specialties to be unprofessional and unreliable and will NEVER recommend them. My realtor says she will be sure to let the other agents in her office know about the poor "service" we received, and discourage anyone from using them.

+ 0 moreThe salesman was professional most of the time, did a decent job of explaining the products we selected and scheduled the installation in the time period we wanted. The installation of the windows was fine but the installation of the doors was a disaster. After they were first installed, all three doors leaked cold air and were not installed properly. They had to be removed and reinstalled which resulted in two of the doors being ok but the third door still does not fit properly and needs to be removed and reinstalled again. I have asked the owner to give me a refund. We will see how that goes. I recently received a quote for additional windows but will probably not use this company because of the problems we had with our last order.
Description of Work: Sold me three doors and 2 windows and installed them.

+ -1 moreThe salesmen were both very good with detailed explanations of the different window products. Once we had choice which window product line we wanted they gave us explanations of what and how the installation would go. The installation was completed in two days by a great installation team. They not only done a good job with the installation they were also very conscientious of everything they did.
Description of Work: Install 13 replacement windows and clad exterior frame.

Description of Work: Beautiful job installing a wall of windows in a sunroom. Couldn't be more pleased with the results. Work started and was completed when promised. Windows were custom made for the job and are of excellent quality.
