Smart Repairs

It was $2500 and I thought it was too much and I didn’t like the way they were going to do it. They didn’t really give me a good idea of what it was going to look like or about the finished product. They were very nice. The owner came out and they got the quote back quickly but I just wanted to get some more estimates which I haven’t done yet. They came out the same day that I called and they got the estimate back within a week. I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone.

When Marty first arrived he began bad-mouthing other repairs I'd had done in other parts of the house as he was inspecting if leak had spread to other rooms. Told me I'd been "ripped off royally" and that the work was shoddy. Said he could straighten it out. Gave me an estimate for shingles, supplies and labor for the roof only. Started the next day 4 hours later than told. Said the leak wasn't as bad as he'd thought and he didn't need all the shingles he'd charged me for, but would not adjust the final price, and left with alot of shingles I'd paid for. (I had even asked to keep them for future repairs.) The leak reappeared 12 months later; hired another person who came highly recommended. He praised the work of Smart Repairs and said different shingles were involved with this leak but the water ran to the same low point. This person also praised the prior repairs mentioned above and upon hearing all they did, said I'd paid a fair price, that I had NOT been ripped off at all. This made me feel better and also added to my distrust of Smart Repairs.

Did not return phone call. Waited a week to see if perhaps on vacation - nothing.

The deck work went well and was done in a timely manner. The gutter work went well also, but could have been in a more timely way.

There were seperate teams working on each issue, the first morning the roofing guys arrived and the deck group arrived. The roofing team took about 4 days to finish my roof and worked every day. They showed up early and left late and did a great job, very professional. I had the shingles replaced and all vents replaced (I went from two ventilation stacks to the newer ventilation material on the ridge of the roofline that is one long vent). The work looks great and they cleaned up the roofing nails. The porch team came that first day and they were finished in about a day and a half. They were very professional and their work looks really great as well and I couldn't be happier. After the roofing team was done they did the gutters and the fascia work and I'm very pleased with that as well. Previously my gutters had all rolled due to a poor quality installation, these almost look strong enough to sit on, although I'm not planning on doing that. I'm looking forward to it raining to see how they do, as my gutters have been messed up for years. All in all I'm really happy with the work done by Monty and his people at Smart Repairs, and I would happily recommend them to anyone else looking for work done on their home.

I have had to call another provider as this provider is not responsive.

The screen room design far exceeded what I had envisioned, and, because of the previous work done on my home by Smart Repairs, the quality of the work was exactly what I had experienced earlier, excellent. The paint job and the installation of the split system AC was also excellent work. I highly recommend Smart Repairs for the reasonable cost, the design and quality of the work. You will not regret using them.

It went well. They were very quick to get the work done, and small things didn't linger on. Some details were clarified as the process went on, but all details were finished as detailed with Monty. Crew cleaned the area up daily, and was completely clean upon completion.The existing deck was very hot in the sun. We are very pleased with the now covered porch.

The provider was punctual, friendly, answering questions, and very professional. He removed the old ceiling fans and installed the new fans. He was focused on the job at hand and did not wander off to smoke or get on the phone. Once the job was done he tried the fans to be sure they were functioning properly.

They were great! From the initial estimate to scheduling and executing the work the team was professional and friendly. Monty and team designed my installation so it looked seamless and blended perfectly into my home. They were able to wire the fans and connect them to an interior switch for easy operation. In addition, they picked up a wood screened door and matched the stain to my log home. The screened in porch is amazing - it blends perfectly and doesn't detract from my view. It's quickly becoming the favorite room in the house! I can't praise this team enough - they bring exceptional skills to their work and it shows! THANKS for a job very well done!

It went great. I received prompt communications and the services were performed in a timely fashion. The gutters were cleaned out and a few small leaks were repaired.

I sent pics of the siding problem to Monty who reviewed them and dispatched a technician to fix the issue. The charge was $60/hr and the job took 2.5 hours. The technician was friendly, knowledgeable and customer focused. He also gave me a quote on fixing some decayed fence posts.

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It went just fine. They did a good job. I didn't pay any additional. They did exactly what they said they were going to do when they said they were going to do it. I had no complaints.

On Thurs., 4/10/14, we confirmed appointment for Monday morning. We thought he was running late, but weren't sure, because he didn't call. After 25 min., we called him and left a message inquiring as to why he wasn't here. My husband had taken extra time off work to meet and discuss the job with them. Smart Repairs did call back to explain he'd put us down on the wrong day. So, for anyone using this company, you may want to call to remind them of their appointment with you. The jobs went to someone else.

Did not schedule an appointment but rather just called on a day when they were in the area. If it wasn't a good time they just took pictures of the work. I wasn't there on the day they came by and they did take pictures but not from good enough angles to see if the work was quality. Did not dispose of muck in gutters but rather just threw it in the yard. They were obviously over their head offering a deal on Angie's list and could not keep up with the business.

They did a wonderful job, and they were professional. We were having a terrible cold snap, and the owner called, and we both agreed that we should do the work when we were having a warm snap. He said it would hurt my roof if we did it when it was too cold, and so we waited for it to get warmer, and they did a good job.

Monty from Smart Repairs returned my calls quickly, and answered my questions. Showed up on time , cleaned the gutters and ran water thru all downspouts to make sure they were clear. He also took pictures for me to see that every thing was clean. He was friendly and polite. I would use his service again and will recommend him to others.

The service provider was very nice when he came out to look at the job,he did at the time mention that the roof was too steep and he said he would get back to me with some other alternatives but he never called me back.

The service worked out very well. They came out and after I had a conversation with the second guy who was sent to do the work, said the big deal was fine, and did the work for 99 Dollars. They were prompt, and they arrived on time, and they kept in touch with me.

They are very professional. They cleaned up and helped us place the furniture. Their price is not cheap and they will still be doing some work around our house. The quality of their service is very good. Because of what they did, we had a better view of the yard from our room and my wife and I love it.

I called on 02/18/14 and talked with Monty explaning that I needed a ramp built off my back deck for my dog to use since she can no longer handle steps. Greg showed up on 02/19/14 to give me an estimate of 340.00 and gave me a full explanation of what he was going to do. He also told me that weather permitting and he had another job to do that he would be back that afternoon to complete the ramp for me. I came home that afternoon and the ramp was completed and very well done I could even walk on it myself. I did however call back the next day and ask that they add some railing to the ramp because knowing my dog like I do she would try to climb over the edge of the ramp and hurt herself. Monty said no problem that he would send Greg back out to complete that for me. Greg showed up on 02/20/14 to complete the work and it looks wonderful he even placed a barrier at the top of the ramp afftached to the railing so that my dog would not try to take the steps down instead of using the ramp and he also placed traction strips on the ramp in case of bad weather. The final cost was 517.00 and the quality is great and the service is fast. I would use them again.

They did a good job all and all, but I was upset that they showed up unannounced (called me on cell phone as they drove up the driveway) on Dec. 19th, which was twelve (12) days before the formally scheduled appointment of Dec. 30 when they were also supposed to give me an estimate on a porch repair. Fortuantely, I was home and they did the roof and gutters, but the two men who were here knew nothing about the proposed estimate...They cleaned the roof and gutters, informing me when they were done and I walked outside and checked out the front of house and all looked good. I was very busy at the time and didn't think to go all around the house. About ten minutes after they left I went to the back of the house and was shocked when I looked out and saw pine needles and debris about 2 feet deep all over the back patio and furniture. I immediately called them on their cell ph. and insisted that they come back and clean it up, which they did after apologizing , then protesting that they didn't have any blowers or any kind of equipment to clean it up or take the mess away. I gave them some rakes and they were able to remove it into the woods around my house and they were thorough about it. The men I dealt with, and Monty, the boss, were eager to correct the problem. There was a further misunderstanding about a later appointment for Monty to come give me an estimate for other work. I do believe they were overwhelmed with the enormous response from their gutter/roof cleaning offer and as Monty is also the office manager, he was unprepared for the scheduling landslide.
