ROY'S TREE SVC

Ordered firewood since he advertises this. Mr. Erickson himself delivered the wood. It was supposed to be one full cord (4'x4'x8') but it was fully 1/3 of a cord less. Moreover it was dirty, wet, many pieces were rotting (white rot) and easily 50% were shorter than his quoted 16" and many pieces were smaller than typical stove-cut of 12" (some barely 7"). There was easily 100lbs of dirt and asphalt included with the wood (he admitted loading wet wood with a skid steer...when I expressed disappointment he was very apologetic and said he'd make it up to me and bring more wood the next day. I was pleasantly surprised at this, but that was short-lived because when he delivered at dinner time the next day, after it started raining (having been clear all day) he had brought more of the same short-cut wood that was only marginally cleaner. Once it was all stacked with the original delivery it still did not make up a full cord. At one point in the delivery he grew surly and short-tempered when I held up a piece (one of many I pointed out) and said this is not 16". He said he'd had "customers like you" got in his truck, flung out the rest of the dirty wood then without a word drove off. Minutes later he called me and asked me not to call him again. You bet! You deal with this man at your peril. Guard your wallet. He may be a great tree service man, but his firewood product is lousy, lousy, lousy. I have photos to prove it. I should have refused delivery, but past dealings with other firewood providers has been good. So much for giving THIS GUY the benefit if the doubt. If there was a way to rate this less than one star I would, he doesn't deserve a star, just the same raspberry he gives his firewood 'customers.'

Calvin came to my home, quickly gave me a quote, and a few days later just as promised, he showed up with his crew and proceeded to remove the tree. I had previously checked an his Workman's Comp and General Liability and they were covered properly. At the end of the job they used the stump grinder to remove any remaining trace of the old tree and than they cleaned up very well. On budget, on time, professional job. I'd recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat......George Bond
