It took him months to put up a deck. I’m trying to get him back to fix the deck. I paid him immediately when the work was done. He didn’t pay the bill. I’m not happy with him. He doesn’t return my calls. I would not recommend him. He was very professional. I would not use him in the future.
Description of Work: I used Rem Construction Corp to do the deck in April and he finished the work in July.

I signed a contract to build our home in Forest Hill, MD with Jay in December 2010. We began digging the foundation in mid-February 2011. It has taken seven months to frame the house, and it still has no roof or siding, and the framing is beginning to grow black mold. I work two jobs to support my family, and now I have to take over as a general contractor for my home as well. I've received $66,000 in lien notices against me so far from the foundation company, the framers, and the lumber supply company. Jay has drawn a large amount of money from the bank funds, and is now refusing to provide any further work or service unless I pay him on a time and materials basis. Unfortunately, having never done this before, I was unaware of how little the law protects homeowners from mechanics liens or from predatory contractors. I was also shocked to learn how little the bank could or would do about the situation. If you are considering building a custom home, but have no prior experience, I cannot emphasize how important it is to have a performance bond, a deadline with penalties for non-performance, and a good lawyer. The facts speak for themselves. If you are contacted by Jay Remsburg to work on your home or property in any fashion, refuse immediately. He has turned a life-long dream of mine into a nightmare, and has chosen to feed his family rather than put a roof over mine. I don't know whether he has laundered the money, snorted it, or gambled it away, but he has a long line of people who are suing him, and a lawyer who is trying to protect his assets. It is a travesty that the state of Maryland fails to protect us, yes US - there are a number of folks he has ripped to pieces on his way down, including a number of other homeowners and contractors in north-eastern Maryland.
