On time, nice work, very pleased with result.

He didn't clean up afterwards. I had asked him to move the brick and he just kind of threw it in the yard. He was nice. He was really friendly.

We contracted with Mr. Kitchen to build a 31'L X 3"H brick retaining wall. Now, the first step was to dig and pour the footings and install #5 Re-Bar so the concrete would be poured over the re-bar at least 24" deep. Then install the 8" Block wall and then install the brick over the concrete block. Bobby, his mason (and his son Josh) did a great job installing the block and brick. After that was completed, tar was applied to the backside of the wall so moisture would not get into the block and also install a drain around the wall that would drain any additional water away from the wall. Mr. Kitchen recommended that we use pre-fabricated steps which we also covered with Brick. They were 36" wide. After the wall was completed, an acid wash was done to the wall. Firefox sealing will be used to seal the brick. Now, it is noted that there are very few good mason's left in the area. Many went out of business after the recession, so the good mason's are hard to fine. Additionally, I had to work around his time frame and schedule, so we had to be VERY patient with this contractor due to his work load with other clients that he was also working with. I was responsible is getting the product to the work site, but Mr. Kitchen told me how much and what to order from our local Cason's distributor.
