I've been putting off leaving a negative review. I prefer to work it out with the owner. I tried that and he refused. I took my Jeep Grand Cherokee L for the rv tow kit to him. His technician installed it and was in a hurry to leave, and didn't tell us how it worked. Jim called the manufacturer and gave us the basics for use. Pulling out of his establishment, the brakes locked up on the jeep giving us flat spots on the new tires. I disconnected the kit and later did the research to use it on my own. A year later we actually used the tow bar and kit and found that the battery on the jeep was dying everytime. When we came back to the area, we brought the jeep in and explained the issue, the technician blamed it on the cord being wired incorrectly and charged us over $100 to "rewire" the cord. The next year, we had a catastrophic failure of the towbar causing the Jeep to partially break free and impact our rv. I called the towbar manufacturer and exchanged pictures and emails, and they determined that it was installed incorrectly. I then called Jim Campens and tried to talk with him, but was told he wasn't available, I left a number, and never recieved a return call. When we returned to the area, I went in and spoke with the lady behind the counter, (who was always very professional, knowledgeable, courteous, and helpful), and explained what had happened, gave her the emails, pictures, and determination from Roadmaster that it was the installation technicians error that caused the failure. I recieved a call from her a few days later stating that Jim didn't feel it was his responsibility to cover the damages. I expressed my disappointment and asked her to remind him that I am not asking for reparations that a court, or dealership would ask, but enough to cover my cost to repair the damage myself. An amount that was a small fraction of either of those amounts. I have never recieved any correspondence back. This is far from professional, or reputable behavior. Moreover, the service performed was clearly inferior, and I will have to have someone verify the rest of the work to ensure it is correct. Horrible service! (Except for the lady behind the counter, she was amazing, if I wasn't retired, I'd start a company and hire her!)

When I picked everything up they had the camper strapped shut so I was unable to open the doors to the camper. When I got home and took the straps offi saw there were two large holes in the floor of my camper. I went back to ask them "why?" The told me that my camper was "****** rigged"(his words) and gave no other reason. I took my truck to my mechanic to have them check it out because it was not running right. They found that of the 6 bolts that hold the bed of the truck to the frame, 4 bolts were loose and one is now crossthreaded leaving one bolt holding everything together. He also cut the wiring from the truck to the cap I had on the bed. It made no sense to do this as they removed the bed and cap as one unit. He take no responsibility for destroying my property and refuses to fix anything.
Description of Work: I took my truck and a camper that was on a trailer to Jim Campen to have them remove the bed of my truck and take the camper off the trailer and put it on my truck. When they took the bed off the truck it was realized that the plan was not going to work. I told them to return everything to what it was when I brought it in. He cheated me $280.00 in labor to remove the bed of my truck and put it back and to remove the camper from the trailer and put it back.
