Brotherstone Granite LLC

We had our kitchen countertop, sink and faucet replaced. We checked with Home Depot/Lowe's first, but they both wanted all the money upfront when we placed the order. Brotherstone asked for half at the time of order, which we found more reasonable. Marlene at Brotherstone gave us an estimate based on our measurements; however when her professional came out and measured it turned out to be several hundred dollars more. That was not too surprising since he did a much more thorough job measuring than we did. The countertop only took a couple of weeks from ordering to installation, although we got lucky because another customer had to delay theirs and we were slotted in their spot. Marlene ordered the sink for us; we bought the faucet and she recommended a plumber to install the faucet the next business day (he was very competent and came just when he said he would). Brotherstone's installers had several challenges with our countertop because the cabinets were not level, and the existing decorative tile they were fitting the backsplash around was not level either. They worked through the issues and the end result is beautiful. (Home Depot indicated they would not install unless the cabinet surface was level, and that it was our responsibility to make sure it was.) Brotherstone's did tell us they had to wear their work boots inside, so we had put down construction paper ahead of time. They cleaned up the kitchen very thoroughly when they were done and we only found a bit of quartz dust on the driveway, which was not a big deal. We were glad we went with a local company and we were very pleased with the experience.

I had to do this. I hate leaving a bad review but I believe this one definitely needs one. I have been working with Marlene since the beginning of March. I found her by accident when I noticed she was by the ford dealer. She was so attentive and helped so much. Cabinets got delayed, she understood. I went back out because I was torn between 2 colors. She was so helpful and said they they were about the same price “not much difference.” I was ok with a little difference. We set the template date for 5/8 and the granite date for 5/18. I was then sent an email with the invoice with an astronomical difference, over $1,000. I contacted her & she said I chose a different color which I was out there with her and she told me there wasn’t that big of a price difference I was thinking $100-$200. Not over $1000. Then she moves my date to 26 May. Not telling me upfront that there had been some mechanical issues with some machines. I can understand that. Only to tell me in the later emails about the mechanical problems and that there was nothing she could do about the price. Then I just decided to go with the first granite option which was $1000 cheaper. Only to wait almost 2 days to get an email that stated I just needed to find somebody else. My kitchen is in pieces and I am now stuck back at square one hunting all over again, which takes time. Absolutely disgusted with this business and this owner. Just know that if you want to go with somebody like this you better be prepared to wait and get moved around, have them raise the price unexpectedly, then get completely canceled last minute and get treated extremely poorly.

Very responsive to emails and questions. Quote was middle of the road of other contractors and had good reviews (one of which I knew personally). 1st day tear out of old countertops went smooth but they were late getting there and did not put down anything on floor so I had quite a mess to clean up after they left. 2nd day install went a few hours beyond estimate, lots of quartz dust was all over front porch where they were cutting the outlet holes outside, one outlet hole was cut too small and they had to come back and cut more out so electrical box would fit. Not that big a deal really, and I would hire them again. But would ask them to cut quartz in driveway away from house and make sure to put plastic down inside to reduce cleaning time afterward. Overall I would give an A- rating. Great product and service, just a few things to improve on.
