Concrete By Martin

y ofI needed the above work done and was having trouble finding a contractor. I saw Martin's ad in the supplier directory page of the Asheville Citizen Times and decided to meet him and size him up. He came out to give me a quote the same day I called (it was raining so he was not on a job). I listened carefully to his answers when I described the job. He explained in detail how he would do the job properly and described parts of his twenty years of experience that related to my project. It was clear to me that he had the expertise to give me a good result. I authorized the work a few days later and he started immediately. In observing his work, it was clear to me that he really knows what he is doing and takes great pride in doing a great job. He also works extremely hard and long. We got a great outcome in all three of the tasks (recapping steps, pouring a slab, refinishing front of deck) and both my wife and I are very pleased. I will also say that Martin is a very friendly and pleasant fellow. He was extremely patient in answering all of my questions and was not afraid to say "I don't know" when I asked a question about concrete stains and cleaners that was beyond his expertise. My wife even commented about how personable he is comparted to some tradesmen. As for price, I can't say whether he is higher or lower than others, as I did not get competitive bids. Even if I were to find out that his price is high (which I doubt), I would not mind paying it on future jobs. I would much rather pay a bit more for a good job from someone I can trust than pay less and risk a bad outcome (especially with something as permanent as concrete!). I will definitely recommend him to my friends and call him again should I ever need more of his type of work. If any of my neighbors want to see his work, please contact me.
