I called them and requested service, I was told they would be out after 5 pm and they arrived at 9:30. Upon arrival one of the gentleman placed his large, rusty, metal toolbox up against my wood kitchen cabinets. I had to move the toolbox away from my cabinets to prevent damage. I directed them to the part that was causing the leak as I had investigated it prior to them coming out. They removed the part that was causing the leak and diagnosed the problem. The charge for this was $35. The man did not want me to write a check to the company, he stated that his boss, who was out of town owed him money and that I should just write the check to him directly. Instead I gave him cash, he did provide me with a receipt however it was not a letter head receipt from the company. The new part was ordered and we spoke about the installation on 4/4. At that time he told me the part cost $166 and the labor for installation would be $50. He returned to do the installation on 4/12. At the time of installation he ended up mounting the part to the exterior of the fridge with metal screws because he was unable to figure out how to get the part back in correctly. Inspite of the fact that he had drawn a diagram during the first visit. He defaced my refrigerator. As a part of the service they were also suppsed to vacuum and clean the coils and this did not happen. I found out after the fact that I was over charged for the part, and I would have expected the initial $35 for the service charge would have been applied to the labor. After installation I made a check out payable to the company and he demanded I void the check and write a new one made out to him directly.
Description of Work: They were hired to perform repairs on my refrigerator that had a leak.
