Blakes Landscaping and Grading

Stay away from Blake Landscaping unless you want your money stolen! We entered into a contract with Blake Landscaping on July 30th, 2021 stating that once the initial $2000 payment was received, he would begin work. Per the bank records, he received the first payment on August 9th, 9 days later. Blake Landscaping did not show up on site for work or reach out to us via email or phone for the following 5 weeks. At this time Blake Landscaping had received a total of $4000 from us, and I had to make a call to Blake Landscaping to find out where they have been and why they haven’t shown up on site. Over the next 4 months, we had to call multiple times to which Blake Landscaping kept coming up with excuses to why they didn’t show up. We sent an email to Blake Landscaping saying that we no longer needed their services and requesting a full refund of our money. We didn’t hear anything back in return, so in October we sent a letter requesting a refund again. We never received a response from him, so over the next couple of months we called him 3 times. The 3 times we were able to make contact with him, his response was “the check was in the mail, you should already have it. I will check and call you back”. He never responded and we ended up taking him to Small Claims Court, to which he never showed up. The judge found in our favor and we are still in the process of trying to collect our funds.

Blakes Landscaping and Grading was hired to clear a 42x50, form, and pour a concrete pad. Removing adjacent trees and clearing an area for a shed too. On 6/6/2019 Chad came to our property, typed up an estimate, and was given a deposit of $3500 to put us on his schedule. The total estimate was $8500. I have a receipt for the $3500 deposit that he received. A few times both Chad Blake , and his employee Payne Watson came out to the property and performed some of the work, always with hiccups, and no communication. The row of trees was taken down by chainsaw, skidsteer, and then used a dump truck to move to the neighbors pastures. The area where the concrete pad would be, was never actually "graded", and ready for forms or concrete. He gave me the run around about finishing the job for about a month. Equipment sat here while excuses were being made. Multiple "Vacations", child being sick, too hot to pour concrete, the communication was few and far between and sometimes happened when I asked. On July 30th he stated a refund check would be in the mail to me. There have been multiple times he has told myself, and law enforcement that he has mailed a check for the amount of $3000 as a refund for the work that had not been completed He has ceased communication with me and will not answer phone calls, text messages, or emails. It has been a month and I have not received a check to this day. Being a firefighter you'd think PRIDE. HONOR. HONESTY. INTEGRITY. would be instilled in his body and soul, this is far from the truth. DO NOT HIRE THESE GUYS.

Chad was very responsive to my request for a quote for the project and came out immediately to see the property. His pricing is fair and he works well with people. I ultimately chose someone else for the job but would consider using Blake's Landscaping in the future for other projects.
