Description of Work: Our project involved solving very complicated drainage issues, including poorly drained soil and several areas of pooling water following rain storms. Following installation of our new pool Hampstead Landscaping put in a series of french drains that direct all of the rainwater to a rain garden. Much of the soil needed to be replaced and we had all new planting beds, paths, sod and landscape lighting installed.

Description of Work: Hampstead Landscaping has completely landscaped my yard over the last few years. My yard went from a wasteland to a showplace! They did everything from helping arrange tree removal, installation of irrigation, sod, ornamentals, and lighting. Not only did they do the initial landscaping, but they periodically check back and do touch-ups when needed.

Description of Work: Sue and her team do a great job. We are so glad to have found her, and we will use her in the next phases of our landscaping work. She had good ideas and involved us in the whole planning phase. She showed pictures to illustrate her ideas, which was very helpful. | |Then, when the planting started, I was amazed at how well she prepared the areas for landscaping. She and her team rototilled, dug out tree roots and weeds, brought in good top soil and fertilizer. And, Sue really knows the "water" side of things; she made sure that all the sprinklers hit the right spots, and she converted one area from sprinkler to drip. The trees, flowers and bushes she planted look great and, now three months later, they are thriving. She also had the idea to add a couple of large rocks to one bed, and it looks wonderful. | |I have only one small issue, which is that the gardenias she planted were infested with thrips within the first couple weeks, and we lost most of the flowers. Sue helped us by phone and email figure out what the bugs were, and she told us how to treat them. I think 100% service would have been for her to come out and treat them herself on site.

Description of Work: Landscaping. I did not use this service, just filled in most of the blanks so I could close this out.

Description of Work: Trimmed all shrubs, small trees, and plants; cleaned all flower beds, racked lawn; pulled out 10 old pampas grass; redesigned area where pampas grass as removed; worked the ground and added nutrients/soil; fertilized all plants and shrub, bought and planted new plants; reworked irrigation system by adding a head and repairing others.

Description of Work: Total remodeling of backyard including removal of all grass, installation of 4,000 gallon pond, hardscape pathways, new grass and plantings. Also construction of heavy weight trellises.

Description of Work: We were having drainage issues so had a French drain put across the entire back of our yard because of the water problems and a beautiful dry river bed put on top. I think Sue touched every rock and stone in our river bed. She is a perfectionist and has great vision when she works for you. She is full of good ideas and her work is exceptional. We also had a patio put in at her suggestion and we love it. It has a wonderful shape and adds so to our yard. I would and have recommended her many times.

Description of Work: They did all of my landscape design, irrigation system and all of the work involved when I built my home in 2001. They were excellent even building up all of the beds and amending the soil which many landscapers do not do. From the very beginning we received many, many compliments from neighbors and the Architectural Review Committee in our neighborhood. I have used them continually for the past 11 years. They put a beautiful koi pond in around 2005. They do most of my major maintenance except for the weekly cutting of the grass. I still use them when I want something added or something changed in my landscaping. When my husband died they even came to the Memorial Service which touched me deeply.

Description of Work: Don't bother calling. They don't even return phone calls. Left two messages that I wanted to hire them to install a patio. The second message reminded them I had called previously. No one returned my calls. If they can't return calls before getting the job imagine what it would be like if you weren't pleased with their service.

Description of Work: Sue LoRusso is a driven professional whom you can trust with your work. She designs, implements and can stay on a budget. She's both a registered landscape contractor and irrigation contrator. She's also licensed to adminster pesticides which is helpful to have her do it all. I'm most impressed that she is a certified plantsman and she knows her plants and what they will do. She's transplanted to this area and is straight forward; something that some have not taken to well. But she's honest, determined and gets things done. She works with a group of people some of whom have been with her for more than 20 years. She's right in there with them, it's not a service where someone gives you an estimate and someone else shows up to do the work. She draws, estimates and works with you on your plan and then implements it.
