The work was excellent, however after the installation I discovered that I had been given very cheap product for the price I was ask to pay. I had solid and steady glass doors on the shower doors they remove. They replaced them with very cheap glass that bent like Plexiglass, I've never seen glass bend and also hung like curtains from the top only, no support on the bottom. When I told them I found the doors to be unacceptable for a senior I was told they would remove them, seal the holes and I could hang showers curtain but still pay for the shower doors they will remove. I was expecting an upgrade, instead I was given hanging glass doors for an outrageous amount. The shower makeover I ordered the salesman called it my dream shower, instead it has become a nightmare for me, I have not used this shower as I'm very afraid of using it as I may accidentally bump against the door and fall through it.

First we paid over $20,000 for the product and we were told that we had to pay for it all that day in order to get the price break. After paying for what we wanted, we were contacted and told that they could not provide that product and offered a different product and told us that it would be cheaper and we would be refunded the difference. We agreed and that was the beginning of June. We have heard nothing from the company, I have texted the salesperson multiple times and told that we would get the refund in 7 to 10 days and now he is no longer responding to my messages. I called the company and left a long detailed message and have heard nothing back from them. I am afraid that we have been the victims of a scam and will have to find an attorney. This is not the way to do business, especially when there are so many companies that we could have chosen from but we chose westshore because they were on Angie's list so we thought we were safe but obviously not. I could not be more disappointed.

Worst home owner experience ever. I got about 6 estimates before settling on WSH. They got the price right and sold me on their own experienced installation crew, what a joke. The windows look nice but the installation was horrible. They came here with out a plan and an untrained crew. It felt like they were experimenting on my home. I had to stop them several time and point out poor craftsmanship that would have allowed water to enter my home. They put vinyl J channel on my Hardy home and also used aluminum to wrap brick molding. They damaged just about every windows interior trim and did nothing to repair or repaint over the damage. They showed up with a clear window for my bathroom when I ordered obscure. They took out the large picture window in my kitchen and realized their window was the wrong size. They scabbed back in the old window which looked horrible. I had to wait about and additional 6 months for the 2 wrong windows. The bathroom window was about an inch short in every direction so they shimmed it, pumped in insulating foam and then put 1/4 round molding in my bathroom window to hide the gap. Some of the vinyl J channels they pumped full of caulk. The whole thing is a nightmare. They also said they would help with financing and obtained the authorization code and at the end of the first trip notified the finance company the job was complete and extracted full payment. I had to protest and spend hours getting them to return 50% until the job was complete. I was so fed up after the second visit I was just like get out of my home and my life. I can only imagine these windows giving me issues down the road simply due to the poor installation. The are horrible to deal with and do terrible work. I give them a 0 out of 10 rating.

EXCELLENT from start to finish! Designer/salesman thoroughly explained the process, costs, options, and payment plans. He was not pushy and thoroughly answered our questions and concerns. Installers were very professional and kept us updated as to what was going on and what was left to do. They removed all debris and cleaned up after themselves! We highly recommend them and will definitely hire them again for future projects!!

It took quite a few weeks to get the installation but they did it all in one day. The new shower looks wonderful. I went with a shower rod and curtain rather than the shower doors. It saved quite a bit of money and it will be so much easier to keep clean. The quality of work done by the guy who did my install was fantastic.

Please call me, Barry Dyer, at 919-649-2746. I am extremely confused by the review and would like to see if there was an error on our part or if there is miscommunication. I have no records of you in our system, otherwise I would contact you directly. What makes this review confusing to me is that we don't work with insurance claims. We work directly with homeowners, and of course, we visit homeowners free of charge. So, I ask that you call me so that I can get a better understanding of what occurred.

What a pleasure it was to work with Brytons from the first visit with the salesman to completion. While not inexpensive for the scope of the project, it was well worth it to only work with one craftsman (except for the sheet rocker) who completed the entire job start to finish in 4 days, as promised. Brytons kept to every promise they made along the way. A requested switch out of faucets was handled effortlessly. Also piece of mind knowing they will come back within 12 months if needed, to re-caulk. We love the end product and the bath towels that were delivered as a thank you!

Designer was great and found specific types of bath accessories I requested and the types of low-mainenance/ mold-free tile work. Installer was excellent and very personable. Only issues were associated with absence of co-worker - the plan was to have 2 installers working together but something happened to second guy. So, job took a bit longer than projected.

My wife and I had been contemplating on a bathroom remodel for quite some time; however, my wife has issues with making decisions that involve substantial amounts of money, aka, pulling the trigger. Thus, I do not have that problem. Me and my wife had two bids for my bathroom remodel. Needless to say, the first bid did not get the job (A well-known bathroom remodel contractor). The second bid did (Brytons). Plus, I went with a well-known contractor because if the job was not performed to my standards, there would be repercussions. The bids were nearly identical, but Connie (Brytons' representative), put me over the edge. She spent several hours explaining everything, and showing us various samples. Plus, I could tell she enjoys her job. And as for the installer/carpenter/plumber, Brad, he was exemplary. I do not believe Brytons could have found a better person to showcase their company’s vision, as to what a customer desires. And on top of that, he was professional and courteous the whole time he was here. As a matter of fact, he treated my house as if he lived here, too. To tell you the truth, my bathroom looks like it just came from Brytons' showroom. This is a good thing.

We were told that the floors would be repaired during the project- they were not. Evidently, if you don't buy a tub, they leave a HUGE hole in your floor (where the tub drain was) and cover it with a piece of plywood. The contract says floors repaired in "wet area"- well, we no longer have a tub so I guess that means its not a wet area anymore and so they can leave it the way they found it. I can't believe that I just paid that amount of money and a hole was left in the floor. If I had a bought a tub too- would there still be a hole left in the floor? Also- please be advised that your projected shower area will shrink by up to 10 inches! We were told a 40x60 shower pan would fit in our space- the actual pan is around 55 and once they put a cap on 1 end, you are down to 51. This created a problem with our planned shower head direction- we lost 9 inches in the pan size and then the contractor moved the shower head by 4 inches (when he wasn't supposed to). This created a situation where the shower head would now be spraying directly on the shower door seams (potential leaks). We would have had to pay MORE to have this corrected- even though our communication was CLEAR- their's was not- and yet what can we do? So we ended up having to pay almost $300 more to change our shower head so that the water wouldn't be spraying directly on the door seams. I am VERY disappointed in this process but its done now. I will not recommend this company to anyone- or- I would advise spelling these points out in the contract so that this will not happen to you.

From my first contact with Brytons to the finish of the job, I knew the cost, when workmen were coming, who was coming, and what they were going to do. I always felt I was part of the process as they kept me completely informed, adhered to the plan originally laid out, and tightly followed the schedule they had set with me in the beginning. There were no surprises and I was continually educated about how to care for the new shower as we went along, including tips about cleaning products and what to avoid. There was also ample and understandable written material about the kind of shower I had purchased. From the initial consultation to the final touches, the men were professional, competent, organized, courteous, helpful, and quick to answer any questions I had thoroughly and to my satisfaction. It was evident throughout that they wanted me to be satisfied with their work and with what I had purchased. Though the shower was expensive for my fixed income, it was within the cost ranges of this kind of work currently done in this area and the finished product was high quality and fit perfectly into the existing bathroom. It looked like it had always been there! The time for completion was also impressive: work was started in early December, 2015, and was finished a month later. I was honestly impressed with Brytons overall and would use them again without hesitation.

I used Brytons Home Improvement of Eastern NC. It was just a nightmare. The guy that came was suppose to know some carpentry and I don't think this guy knew much about carpentry. They came out November of 2014. It was just horrible. The doors didn't close, there were gaps on the side, the doors were not in the middle they were off center, they used molding from the scrap pile that had cracks in it. The vanity in the front bathroom is suppose to be up against the wall and it ended up being like a table in the middle. They didn't fill in the grout. There were places where they didn't even have grout in them.

It is my hope that any customer with a workmanship issue or warranty issue will contact us to let us know. I apologize if we somehow missed your request during the three follow up calls made to you during the past year. We also leave behind or mail a customer survey that is returned directly to me. I apologize again if you indicated these issues in your response because I do not recall receiving it. You hired us to complete two tub replacements as well as a few other items in two bathrooms. The tubs and walls were acrylic so I'm guessing that any grout issue is with the flooring. The after pictures of the work we completed do not show a vanity left in the middle of the floor so maybe I am misunderstanding what you wrote. It probably is best to talk to us about it. You can reach us at 919-465-4465. We will be happy to take care of any issues regarding the work we were hired to perform and complete. Please contact me on my cell number at 919-649-2746 or email me at barrydyer@brytons.com if you wish to speak to me directly. However, contacting the office is the quickest and easiest way to schedule a service call.

Really well. First half included ceramic tile removal which went slowly, but the out extra time needed in to still finish on time. Second half was just one instalker, o of original team from previous teM. He worked hard to finish on schedule, keptt us informed and did a great job. No hesitation recommending. You just have to realize a quality job will cost you and if you aren't willing to pay the price e, don't expect to be completely thrilled by the outcomr.

The sales man was just horrible. They came out and the thing is, I love the product. But the time he got finished, in terms with the price was, he told us, “Oh no, that’s just for the shower and tabs around.” We would have to do all the rest. We’re on seventies. I couldn’t do dry wall and I don’t know even how to put in a commode. He wasn’t interested in what I wanted. He was very high pressure. We’ve been through high pressure before. It really turns you off. The product he showed us was probably worth the price. I love the product that they were going to put in there. He couldn’t give me a name or company right down in there who would do the dry wall, plumbing and electric. They didn’t have somebody that actually did that work.

I apologize that your experience made you believe our representative was unprofessional. Your representative has been with the company a long time and generally receives positive reviews. The work we do with employee installers includes the tub/shower area, certain types of flooring, vanities, vanity tops, faucets and toilets. Services, such as drywall and painting, are sub-contracted because we actually don't do enough of it to bring it in-house. Also, it saves you money to go directly to the companies that provide that service on relatively small sections. I hope that information helps explain it. Please call me, Barry Dyer, at 919-649-2746, if you would like to discuss it further. It seems that you are happy with the product overall. Your new shower will last a long time and is also backed by a lifetime warranty.

Things started OK, got worse, and eventually finished well. This is one of those situations were several things went wrong at once, with the particular employee performing the job not letting the company know of the problems that arose. I trust the company when they say that this happens very rarely. After discovering the poor job performed during the first week of installation, the company came around to fix all the problems, and two weeks after that the job will be finished to our satisfaction. The owner of the company even came in person to our house towards the end of the installation, together with the head of human resources, to better understand what had gone wrong, explain to us how the company did not know of delays and problems that had arisen, and apologizing for the inconveniences that were caused. The job was supposed to last 5 days (Mon-Fri). The installer predicted 4/4.5 days when he arrived on Monday morning. It "ended" on Sunday at 7pm after a grueling weekend of (rushed) work. "Ended" is in quotes because it is not finished. Some cabinet doors are the wrong measure and need to be redone, they were installed 10 days afterwards; other doors were damaged and needed to be exchanged or repaired. I am not sure there was a single day when the installer was on time. Other people have jobs too, at which they may have to show up on time. Certainly it did not help my wife and I managing our own jobs and the kids for the whole week and the weekend. Several parts of the job were performed poorly. The film covering the the cabinets has points were it's damaged, where the ends do not meet gracefully, traces of glue in several places; the inside of drawers and other parts of the cabinets (particularly near the hinges) got damaged. We were surprised, and disappointed, by the amount of damage that was done to the existing cabinets: the internal part of the front panels of the drawers have holes from old screws (the new ones where put in different places) which were all left unpatched; some of the interior parts of old cabinets have been cracked (ever heard about pre drilling pilot holes before putting screws in?). These were all repaired, or exchanged, in fact the company came around and changed all the interior drawers (free of charge), since even if the "front plate" on the interior of the drawers was the part damaged, no matching colors were available, and/or perhaps changing the whole drawer was better/easier than changing just one side. The measurements wrong and/or the company producing the panels and countertops did something wrong, fact is that part of the countertop was incorrect and they had to be redone. These, together with the wrong measurements of some of the cabinet doors, are not problems imputable to the specific employee performing the installation. After complaining for the job poorly done in the first week, the manager and supervisor came over to check and recognize the job poorly performed. They ordered new parts and the following week (about 10 days after the job was supposed to be completed) the job was (almost, only another front of a drawer to be replaced) complete. As mentioned above, they apologized and recognized, with I believe genuine surprise, how poorly the job was performed, and they had not been advised by their employee that work had been performed during the weekend, not that many problems had been encountered during the installation, putting serious time pressure on the job being performed. They ordered new parts and offered free replacements for the inner part of all the drawers. We had a leak underneath the sink that developed after 3 days the job, it took two visits from the plumber to fix those, but now everything is OK. The manager came himself to do the installation of all the new parts and finish the job, and everything now looks very nice. We appreciated the response of the manager and of Mr. Dyer, the owner of the company, after they found out how wrong things went. I do believe they were left in the dark about several issues with the job by the first installer, albeit not all the issues (wrong measurements, wrong parts, poor helper assisting the lead installer,...) are imputable to the installer. I also believe this does not happen often. I certainly appreciate their coming around, and even the visit by the owner towards the end of the job to apologize, explain the situation from his point of view and understand ours, check that everything was in order. It is hard for me to give ratings; I gave them based on my experience and I do hope that mine was an exceptionally unlucky one - certainly it seems so based on the other reviews on Angie's list.

I apologize for our lack of professionalism with your job. We never anticipate problems with quality control and typically our jobs go without issues. Unfortunately, this was not the case on your job. The good news is that we will get it all remedied. Geoff, our manager, contacted you on Monday after receiving your email. He and another manager, Jay, were at your house yesterday morning to determine the supplies and work needed to correct the issues. A follow up date and time has been set to complete the job. You have Geoff and Jay's personal contact numbers and my number is 919-649-2746 if you need to contact me. Barry Dyer Owner

salesman did not advise us to do the walls before the shower was installed. Installers who came were punctual, professional and efficient. They cleaned up when they were through and explained how to care for the acrylic.
Description of Work: removed tub and replaced it with a shower and acrylic surround

The in-home sales representative arrived on time (early actually) and walked us through the ins and outs of the company. While the product they would be providing sounded good, he spent more time talking about the company than he did about our specific project. When it came down to receiving the quote, he went into sales mode. While he wasn't overly pushy, it did get uncomfortable when we explained that we wanted some time to think it over. He kept trying to close the sale and didn't show much consideration for our time as he continued to try to close the deal. We would have just figured this was the way of the business but we also got quotes from 2 other companies who didn't conduct themselves this way. They provided the quote and left the ball in our court to decide from there.
Description of Work: Provided an estimate to repair/replace shower.
