HHS has always been willing to resolve any issue, and work with our client's in a timely, honest, and professional manner to achieve an outcome that is fair, based on the facts. HHS makes every effort to thouroughly educate client's on what to expect throughout their particular project. It is standard practice for HHS to feature/benefit all aspects of the project, from conception to closing, and also to inform the client of the potential for pitfalls, problems and matters of intrusion into their lifestyle and schedule, that are typical for that specific type of project. HHS also makes every effort to explain the emotional toll projects can have and the importance of constant communication for a positive outcome. HHS tries to address all common issues and questions throughout the project. HHS believes in full transparency and constant communication. HHS believes that an educated client is a satisfied client. In order to ensure quality, HHS documents the progression of all projects, from beginning to end, with a DIGITAL PICTURE FILE. The DPF documents line by line what the work order calls for so that the client can rest assured that all the work agreed upon was done properly. DPF's also include detailed and specific shots of items such as unforseen issues, detail shots, hard to see areas like crawlspaces etc. **The member is not being forthright and truthful in her accusations. HHS will address some highlights of her accusations here. However HHS cannot go into as much detail as is required to give you, the potential client, the proper information to make an informed decision or opinion, as ANGIES LIST doesn't allow doc or photo uploads. Anyone who would like the full details can contact HHS and HHS will readily supply the facts about the project including photos. **1- The project was started and on target for completion within the time frame alotted. The original contract was on a 1930's owner built farmhouse to dry in a 200 sqft kitchen and master bath addition for 15k Including demolition, foundation, framing, siding and roofing. The client's were to handle the finishing contractors. They could not get anyone to come and awarded HHS the finishing contract. The total project at near completion was 26k including the materials and labor for- Design and layout, removing all appliances and demolition, all new electrical, insulation (walls floor & ceiling), drywall (walls and ceiling), HVAC tie in, floor jack and level in old part, High grade padded vinyl floor, 40 upper and lower CUSTOM kitchen cabinets, prefab countertops, lighting, CUSTOM enclosed 1pc alcove acrylic shower, high grade bath sink & cabinet, CUSTOM tray ceiling in master bath, CUSTOM crown molding, baseboard, remove door fill in opening with existing knotty pine and re-install as master bath door, caulking, priming and painting 2 coats on the walls ceiling and trim, CUSTOM drywall on the ceiling which was half flat and half sloped to mimmick to old style house, material handeling and delivery, trash container and haul off and much more ALL FOR A DIFFERENCE OF 11k. **2-She had HHS spray foam and caulk every gap under her own supervision so that "critters" would not get in. **3- She was informed to install laminate countertops that HHS fabricates on sight to deal with the old half of the room not being square. Explaining throughout how prefab is not flexible and will show a gap. Most tops have a gap but are hidden by backsplash. HHS did refuse to cut the miter where 2 tops joined at the problem area as it would not solve the issue and void warranty and cut off the needed fastner system underneath. MH was cursed at filthily by her husband who was suffering from selective hearing. HHS was not short a countertop. She added a cabinet on the left of the fridge. **4-The bathroom door was working properly until the clients friend removed the door and the casing to install a teak floor for them. HHS had installed the door correctly. **5-She didn't "buy" any materials. They were all included in contract price and paid for through a draw schedule. There was no paint left and the quarts of stain belonged to HHS shop supplies. HHS was mixing and trying to custom match old knotty pine **6-Mike's attitude was great. The members both liked Mike. She even went to tears a few times over how nice and thoughtful he was. Mike often went out of his way, like the time he felt bad for them not having had a stove for a while. They had been eating at McD's. So Mike, with his own time and money, catered over a $150 home style meal for them from one of the most well known BBQ restuarants. He did it as a surprise and had it waiting on their new countertops when they came in to go get McD's and the clients were very appreciative. **7-She ordered waterfall edge tops choosing not to pay the difference. **8-Sheetrock doesn't just move and go "as crooked as you ever seen" The line is the same as it was for the several weeks it was up during this project.. **9-Foundation was laid on May 21st it was left to cure for the 2 weeks the mason requested. HHS started framing on June 4th and would have completed the original project in 1 week. With all of the change orders, add-ons and mostly CLIENT DELAYS (such as ordering the custom tub that came in late and damaged), HHS was near completion the 2nd week in August for a total of 8 weeks. HHS was given July 4th off at the persistance of the client. HHS wanted to continue working and had a lengthy conversation about it. Client went out of town and insisted HHS not work until she returned. She wanted everyone to have a break from working so hard. She was happy and in no rush. HHS was present on the job for over 90% of the working days. There are times during a project of this magnitude that HHS may need to break for a day or two at the most to run business. It always seems more apparent over the course of a lengthy project which is another example why HHS strives to communicate with clients. **10- These clients appeared quite satisfied throughout. They knew when HHS packed up that they were waiting on the countertop for the extra cabinet and would be back when it came in and that was the only thing left to do which is why only $900 was left on the job. Why would anyone who feels the way these clients claim to, pay 25100 over several weeks and not be willing to let you finish and collect? Which makes it worth mentioning that these clienst run a welding operation in their back yard so they were home all day everyday and HHS went over every days progression and the plan for the following days work. HHS was also limited to how long they could work. At the owners request HHS could not start until 9am stop at 12pm back at 1pm leave by 430pm to accomodate their shedule **11-HHS used the clients LOWES credit card to order the kitchen cabinets. because LOWES had a 20% off sale on cabinets and you got an additional 5% off for using your LOWES Credit Card. The client was well informed and gave HHS the card to use for this purpose. The purchase is reflected on her statement. This was not over the already contracted price. She actually saved 25% due to HHS's knowledge of the promotion and forsight in timing the purchase. We actually saved the client an additional $8000.00 dollars off the cabinets as HHS did the job that much cheaper than the cabinet man she had lined up who never showed. **12-To say they have to "redo it all again theirselves" is utterly unbelievable. **13-HHS was asked to not come back after multiple attempts from agent and owner to resolve any issues therefor not given any opportunity to finish the last 1% of the project. HHS was kind enough to not put a mechanics lien on the house as HHS felt sorry that the relationship was not what it seemed or had been led to believe with the clients. SAVINGS TO CLIENT $12,000.00 $10,000.00 off custom cabinetry $2,000.00 off electrical install RECAP:: 200sqft kitchen & bath addition turn key- Market Price-$40000.00- HHS Price - $26,000.00(-$900) SAVINGS $14,900.00 Typical time frame- 3 months HHS Time Frame 8.5weeks= 3.5 weeks saved This project was done per the agreement and in a timely, professional and budget friendly manner. HHS possesses all of the photographic and physical documentation to show that beyond a reasonable doubt. It is simply unfortunate there is nothing HHS can further do to resolve this matter. HHS feels that there has been no wrongdoing of any kind. We hope the client accepts our sincerest apologies and can be honest in their heart of hearts and change our rating to something that better reflects the truth. We also feel it needs to be voiced that these clients were under a good bit of stress in their own business due to MrC failing to deliver a project to his client on time and correctly and she would complain daily about how many thousands of dollars they had lost because he had made this huge industrial project wrong and late. HHS feels that had a major bearing on the downturn experienced here on this project. Though it is pure speculation it seems an awfully strange coincidence.
