Excellent work, including picking up the yard.

Once they came, very professional, did exactly as asked. Tough job with many limbs way up over house. Took care to slowly prune piece by piece. One issue that occurred that could not have been foreseen was rectified in a professional manner. More costly than others but well worth the professionalism. They left the yard looking better than when they started.

Been Davey customer across three states for 20 years. Tried to get some work done in NC and got nowhere. Rescheduling and cancelled one after the other. Done.

It went very well. Good work. Competitive price, but not super. Left the area very clean afterwards. To get an A, they could probably be a little less expensive.

They come over and do my trees, but that's all they actually do. The last thing they did, is I have a giant tree in the backyard and it had died and it's original growth it was about 100 feet tall. I hated to have it done because the tree root was under the driveway and I didn't want it to injure my driveway. I've lived here a number of years and it finally got into a state of demise and I had to have it taken down. I was concerned at the fact that it was demising itself all over my yard and I was worried it would fall and cause a lot of problems. It was over a yard across and tall. They are my company to go through for trees. They are a very good company. They do not do the other type of landscaping I need to have done. As fer as trees are concerned I go to them for everything. I always use them I have their card permanently in my wallet for trees.

See above. Tree is now a real danger to houses and possibly people.

They did quite a big job. Three people came to do the job and it took them about two days. They left the area extremely clean.

Although we ended up using another provider (they were quite a bit higher than other estimates we received), the staff was very prompt in responding to us and providing an estimate. Very professional staff and I appreciated their time/effort.

There were two things that they could have done better. One, the trees were in the back of the property. They had to bring the trunk of the tree up through the yard and it dug into the ground. The guy we originally talked to put grassy ground which was somewhat helpful. It did not make me happy. The one thing I really had a problem with was, part of the cost was for them to come and grind the stumps down so that I could put soil over it and have grass growing. They did not remove the saga so the grass around where the stumps were, died. That certainly did not make me happy. The stump grinding was done a week or two later. They came and ground the stumps. It was my understanding that they were going to take all the saga. It was really difficult for me to go out, dig it out and get rid of it.

It went pretty good. They cut up the tree beautifully. They got rid of it. They cleaned it up great. The tree in front they pruned very well. The tree in the back, they left a big side of it because I think they were in a hurry. It was like a foot and a half long. They laughed and there's still this piece with dead leaves hanging down on it. I called Davey Tree. They came back and cut that down. They originally were going to come in June but they didn't get here until August. They were supposed to put fertilizer for the tree and they never did come back to do that. I never called them on it. What they did do, they did very well. I had to keep on them to get here. If I had a tree fall down, I'd call them. I wouldn't call them for anything else.

They were really great. They were here when they said they would, they were attentive, they knew what they were doing and we felt like they made all the right decisions. We got several estimate and their price was great as well.

They tend to be on the higher side. They were good. I didn't have to worry about having them in my property to do the work. They were incredibly responsive.

I called Davey Tree Service because I thought my trees were dying. Apparently this variety of tree (cryptomeria-aptly named if you ask me) continually sheds dead needles and branches. The needles are very painful and kept getting stuck in my dog's feet. Billy came out to inspect the trees and said they weren't dying, but that was typical. I had researched the trees and found they should have been pruned frequently when young and only 4-5 feet high. They are now 30-40 feet high. He gave me a quote of $400 to prune the trees' trunks of lower branches up about 5 feet from the ground and $25 to prune the lower branches off my oak tree and to clean up the 10 inch deep pile of pine needles covering half my backyard. The workers arrived on time on the day they were scheduled. The two young men worked VERY hard for over two hours. My oak tree looks great and my backyard looks better than it has in almost a decade. I will be able to maintain it now that they have pruned the trees. They worked non stop the entire time and did an excellent job. I could have done it myself but the trees were on the peak of a slope and I figured one fall down the slope while trimming them and the hospital bill would be far more than what they charged. Plus it would have taken me days to do what these strong young men accomplished in two hours. My dog will also now be able to play in the backyard without painful consequences. I would highly recommend Davey Tree Company. I only wish I could find where I wrote down the names of the two young men. Perhaps Davey Tree Company can add their names to this review. The money I spent was worth every penny for the results!

They have done work for us two times and it was excellent both times. They are professional prompt and do a great job. Their price is competitive.

I don't have anything negative to say about them. They did a good job and they had fair price. I would give them the best. I thought it was a very good price.

They seem to be more focused on their commercial work than on small residential work. It took months to get them to do the work. They didn't finish the day they were here and it took them another month to get them to finish. They were here and they did great work but the followup wasn't very good. They cleaned up and didn't leave any mess and they were very careful. They were actually the lowest on price. My only complaints with them was the time and I had also asked them to cut wood for the fireplace to a certain length but they weren't even close. you have a 24 inch fireplace and they give you 12 piece inches of wood, its not great. I can't recommend them for residential work.

They are great. I've actually had good luck with them over the years. They are a general purpose high quality tree company. They are very professional and very fair. They show up when they say they are going to show up and they respond to emergencies promptly. They are the ones we always use. They are not the cheapest but they are worth it.

Bill Matthews came out and was very flexible in his quoting of the work. The scope of work changed several times until I made up my mind. I was a little put off by the scheduling but I was told the stump grinder was down. The team that came out to the house did an AWESOME job. They were quick and professional and didn't leave a scrap of debris behind. I was very please with the overall service. Slightly better communication on the scheduling is the only feedback I have! Thanks again -- don't go with the Pete & a pickup scam artists that I went with first -- call Davy tree first!

They did a screening and then sprayed. It is a Hemlock. They did great, they came out right away and were able to do it. We will have to wait to see how the tree does. They did a good job and explained everything.

They were very nice. I had a humongous tree that's been trying to die. I had an arbor come from Davey and he said the tree was not dying and not diseased but it did need a good fertilizer. They also fertilized the whole area where there were a lot of other plants and shrubs that were around the root area. They also pruned some other trees. They were eager to do their work. There was no complaining.

Davey Tree Expert Company did an excellent job. The more demanding the tree, the better they are. They did a magnificent job on my large willow oaks, which had numerous broken branches (a.k.a., "widowmakers"), from March 2014 storm damage. They used a tree climber and bucket operators who are certified arborists. They do thinning cuts and lateral cuts mostly, with minimal heading cuts that ruin trees. They do pruning according to best arborist practices-- that is, what's best for the tree-- and not merely cuts that they can easily reach from the ground or with a bucket. The root pruning of the mature willow oak that was undermining the driveway was especially challenging and required expert knowledge and root-pruning talent to achieve the goal of allowing the driveway to be restored without harming, or killing my magnificent tree. Davey is THE BEST tree company with which I've ever dealt, and I've dealt with over a half dozen in my 35 years of being a home owner with lots of trees. I love trees and turfgrass specifically and landscaping in general, am knowledgeable about best pruning and tree care practices, and am EXTREMELY PICKY and DEMANDING when getting tree work done. Davey has certified arborists and they?re real pros. The thing is, there are MANY hacks in the tree business. They know how to sell work, esp. after a storm, most have impressive trunk and limb chippers, and some even have impressive bucket trucks. But few have the three most important things of all: expertise that only certified arborists have, expert climbers of big trees, AND real concern for the long-term health and well-being of trees. Davey has this rare combination. They told me that they are an employee-owned company, and they believe that accounts in some measure for their excellence. Whatever the reasons, Davey is superb. I'm very thankful they exist-- as are my trees!

We had a very good experience. We have had them out three times in the last year and a half. It was always excellent. They always come on time. The money was exactly what they told us. They clean up their work. They don’t leave a mess in our yard. They respect the other landscaping. It was all excellent. We were waiting for the storm to get to decent weather to have them come and really see as things had bloomed out, and then do some of this trimming for us. These are thirty year old really big oak trees. They had to climb the trees to trim them. They did a wonderful job. They sent the right amount of people. They came when they said they would. We have absolutely no complaints about them. With the storms and the damage, we were looking for somebody bonded. We knew that they did it in our neighborhood before. We have seen their trucks before. We really didn’t want to go find somebody that we didn’t know about. We knew that our neighbors had had them. They are known in this part of North Carolina; they have a good reputation. The price seemed a little bit high to me, but I don’t really know what this costs. Since I didn’t get more estimates, I knew that I was just going to pay whatever I was going to pay. I would absolutely use them again in the future.
