By Dec 25, 2007, I had not heard from Ms. Varner, and I started calling her daily. When she finally returned my call 2 weeks later, she made an appt, to which she never showed up, and never called. I then started calling daily, but to no avail because her voice mail was full each time. This went on until April 2008, when I looked up her home address. I then typed up a letter reviewing the past 8 months, and stated that if I did not have the ottoman and chair by the end of the week, I would enter a claim against her in small claims court. She called me the day she received the letter, apologizing profusely, and promising delivery by end of week. She never showed up for that appointment, and called a week later with more apologies. I ended up getting the chair, plus a full refund, within the next month. I never received the ottoman, although she promised she would deliver it within the next few days. I did try to call her two more times, to no response. Now it has been 13 months since this has happened, and I have written this off, since she returned my money. The unfortunate thing is that the chair (since it is custom made) does not look right without the ottoman, and cannot be placed where I was going to put it. I have had to put it elsewhere in the house, and I am still working on getting a chair and ottoman. Ms. Varner seems very charming when you meet her, but I feel that she is very deceitful. The fact that she continues to solicit work and takes money from new clients, while not fulfilling her current obligations, is very dishonest and fraudulent. My hope with this post is that others will not go through the hell I did with her this past year.
Description of Work: I contracted for an upholstered chair and ottoman in Nov 2007. She estimated it would cost $800. Final cost was $1350.

This has been a long, tedious process which is not over yet. The drapes were installed in February, 2007 and the shades have not been installed as of 1/11/08. The rod was not what was discussed and Ms.Varner never kept her appointment to select a rod that make our request. We were forced to contact our lawyer in January, 2007. We have called Ms. Varner on a daily basis in an attempt to have the job completed but to no avail. She does not answer or return phone calls. She has told us numerous times that the delay is because of her installer. We have offered to install them ourselves if she would just deliver the shades. No fewer than 4 appointments were made in November and 6 in December prior to 12/19 by Ms. Varner but she did not keep any of them. We contacted the BBB and the state Attorney General's office which have both contacted her concerning our complaint. She made an appointment on 1/01 to install the shades on 1/10 but cancelled and rescheduled for 1/17.
Description of Work: In February, 2006 a contract was entered with Ms. Varner for shades and drapes. We hired Ms. Varner ourselves after seeing her add in a local publication. The drapes were for one large window and would be 2 long, lined panels on either side of a center pane. They were to be pinch pleats with simple ring hangers. The hardware was to be a black simple rod in two sections with finials and brackets. The workmanship and quality of the drapes is very good. The shades were to be top down/bottom up shades. There were to be 3 total. As of 1/10/08, the shades have not been installed so we do not considered the job complete.
