I looked on Angies List, put in a request and got a call in 5 minutes. William showed up within the hour, diagnosed and had a team here within the hour to fix our unit. It was painless, simple and an incredibly friendly. They let me watch every step of the process, explained every thing the did and were just generally very professional!!!

We spoke to the company when they came out. We were told the problem and given an estimate. We paid for the part as it was not a common part. Three months later the work had not been done and it was a nightmare playing phone tag trying to get a clear answer. We were finally told that the part was not available and that the money would be refunded. That began another whole experience attempting to get a refund of over $1000. Eventually we did receive a refund. I had to physically drive to their office to get the check. Took the check to their bank who suggested we cash it immediately after checking their account balance rather than depositing it in my account. We contacted another HVAC company who was able to get the part and complete the work. Based on my experience I would not recommend this company until they have demonstrated they can follow through on a quoted and paid for job.

Living in a historical district provides a home of character, charm, and unique challenges. Home repair is required to be cautious, skillful, and within strict guidelines. When our AC unit stopped cooling, we thoughtfully researched for a company with experience and excellent ratings. We chose Shamrock Heating and Air Inc., largely due to positive feedback comments and high customer service marks. Our experience has been far from positive. During the first service call the technician stated that the unit was only 5 to 10 years old and recommended upgrading Freon to newer type at a cost of $1k. Service was completed and the bill promptly pre-paid. Nearly 3 hours later, the AC unit again was failing. Calls to Shamrock only resulted in a response of "we can get to you after the weekend". Which caused our family to stay in hotels and with family due to record heat index. When another technician returned Monday, we were again informed that the unit was only 5-10 years old and in need of additional repairs at a cost of an additional $1.5k. Knowing that we were approaching the cost of for replacement, we declined the service. Here's the kicker though... Guided self examination of the original unit to order a new unit revealed the true age of 17+ years. This simple fact would have clearly prompted a replacement vs temporary repairs as recommended by Shamrock. Seemingly common knowledge would indicate that you simply do not put $1k-2.5k into a nearly 20 year old unit. A quick web search indicates the following on more than one (1) site: "Many homeowners decide to replace it after about 10-15 years for a new, more efficient model. In the long-run, replacing the system every 15-20 years (most systems' average life expectancy) is more economical in terms of maintenance fees and energy bills." Repeated calls to Shamrock's staff and owner about the false informed and poor service in order to request at least a partial refund have gone unanswered for nearly 6 weeks. We post this review in hopes another family will not endure a similar frustrating and expensive experience with Shamrock.

I am a maintenance superviser for a manufacturing company so I know competent people when I see them. The Shamrock techs sent to my home were friendly, very knowledgable and professional. There pricing is in line with other Heating and Air company's but the quality of the technicians is superior to any others I have encountered in the last 20 years.Highly recommended!

We called one evening to get somebody to come the next day and somebody came right then. They were very accommodating and went out of their way. My mother-in-law paid for the service but we imagine they are kind of average on price. They had to get us a spare part and we didn't think the price was too bad.
