Contacted Tony Medina, through Angies List. He called the next morning and came out that day and provide an estimate. Cost was a little higher than others but we liked the looks. Plus, I found out that he pours the concrete to 4" thick (instead of the 2 - 2.5" that most new developments pour it). He also uses a high strength concrete with a mesh. Essentially, you could easily use this for parking a truck. He came out a week after the quote for the work. We had a small 3'X3' slab in the back and he was kind enough to move to the side of the yard (so I could set the hose reel on it). He had extra product, so he poured almost an additional 14 sq ft (one more foot out, over the 14 length). This was at no additional change. About three days later, his brother came out and power washed the dust off, cut the joint lines (to control cracking), and apply the sealer. When our kids saw it, they said "Wow, it looks like real stone." Our thoughts exactly. One thing to think about if you have this done: Tony will, of course, slant the slab at a slight angle to make sure the rain runs away from your house. However, he can't (or shouldn't) slant it so much that patio furniture starts to move. So if your yard has a descent amount of dirt built up closer to the house (causing an artificially larger slant / angle /grade to the yard) you may need to plan on adding dirt around the finished patio. For example, our's at the far end you can see the entire 4 inches of concrete and then about an inch of the rock base. So I will have to eventually need to back fill some dirt / plant new grass. Just something to think about. There are cheaper products / service, but you may end up with a 2.5 inch thick patio that is at the wrong angle and no rock base, and that just looks like concrete. So you will pay a little more for Tony Medina, but it will be worth it. I would definitely recommend him. He is very friendly, professional, and knowledgeable.

Medina concrete has treated me well over the years. This is the third time I have used them and honestly, I hope they don't retire any time soon because I will use them again and again. The work performed was smooth and seamless. Tony and his crew arrived right on time at 7:30 and by lunch time had the entire job knocked out. Basically, they extended my driveway 9ft into the backyard and gave it a slight grade to make it level with ground. I asked for this to make it easier to get the lawn mower and motorcycles out of the garage. There was almost a foot difference in the level of the driveway and the level of the ground. The also connected that to a 3 foot wide sidewalk and they improved the drainage of my gutters by installing underground pipes in the front and back.

Tony responded within 2 hours of us sending him an email requesting a quote on the job. He came around soon after that and spent a lot of time measuring and completely understanding the job at hand. He offered some very helpful advice and suggestions which influenced exactly how the job came out. He gave us plenty of notice as to when his guys would be here to prep and that part of the job was done in one afternoon as promised. The guys were back first thing in the morning to pour and were done by lunchtime. Everyone was very polite and and the job site was kept very clean. We have young kids and the guys were great with them as they were very curious. The guys came back again to seal the concrete and again were very professional. We would definitely use Medina Concrete again for any work at our house and would highly recommend them to our friends in the area. We are very happy...

Tony Medina is a great guy! He called me after I left a message for him, made an appointment and was here when he said he would be. He fully explained what, how, when, how much in a brief, concise manner. I didn't have the work done because of other circumstances but fully intend to use him in April or May. As a person he's as standup as they get.

Other companies were giving much higher estimates and I did not feel comfortable with their strategies. Medina walked me through what they would do and made me feel comfortable with working with them. They gave me a lot of personal attention and really understood my need for the project. They started the project sooner than I had anticipated and completed the work in two days. The crew of four worked very hard to complete the project before the rain came. I think the final result is excellent.

This job was really tough given they had to wheel barrel the concrete 300 or more feet without spilling any on my existing concrete. They came early, worked hard and finished the job and cleaned up too. These guys are a very honest, hard working group of guys. I totally recommend their work as they did an excellent job.

They did the work very quickly and ahead of the planned date. I think they did a very good job. His price was higher until I told him that I would be getting several estimates... he's a little unprofessional in that when you call him, he just answers teh phone with "Hello". You'd think he would say Medina Concrete. But he was very good about communicating when and how he was going to do the work. I would use him again.

I found them on Angie?s list.? The service was wonderful.? They did a great job.? They were hard working.? He had a lot of good ideas that I haven?t had thought about.? He was very thorough and everything turned out perfect. ?The price was better than a couple of other estimates I got. ?He invited us to his house to look at the work that he had done in his own house.? Medina Concrete is owned and operated by Mr. Tony Medina. From my initial phone call to final inspection and payment, Tony was professional and listened to what we were trying to accomplish by expanding our driveway. He offered suggestions based on his experience and immediately measured for the job and gave us an estimate. Based on estimates and conversation with Tony, we gave him a modest deposit and hired him on the spot. He gave us a tentative date upon our obtaining the proper permits. I am so pleased with the results. His helpers, Tony Rea, Juan, and Rodrigo had such great personalities and worked very hard to go above and beyond their duties to "clean up" around the newly formed driveway addition. This group works as a team under Tony Medina's guidance and expectations, which makes this crew efficient and able to perform quality service. I would not hesitate to recommend Medina Concrete for any business or personal concrete work. The expansion is just as we hoped and the area in which they worked looks neat with very little work for my husband and I. They secured the newly poured driveway so all we have to do is water as Tony suggested, wait till it dries, and learn how to back in the camping trailer.

His team was able to complete the cutting and cleaning and then pouring in one long day. Mr. Medina did the estimates and supervised the work. His team was careful and very complete. Our concrete driveway was cracked on nearly every slab. He worked with use to come up with a plan that would save us money and remove all the cracked sections and then size the existing slabs to a stable size. This way we avoided having to replace the whole driveway. I would recommend him to others. We were surprised that all the steps were completed in one day, but the repairs have turned out great and we are glad we found him on Angie's List.

We did not hire Medina Concrete because a lower price was obtained from another Angies List provider.

We absolutely love our new stamped patio just off our deck that Tony & his brothers did for us! They were very professional, cleaned up, were here when they said they would and finished on time as promised. He called me numerous times to ask questions and explain what they were doing, etc. I will definitely use them again in the future and highly recommend them. We got the stamped patio and it's beautiful. I will upload pictures once we finish the landscaping (hopefully later today:)

They were very responsive to our call and worked around our schedule to meet with us. They were very professional and knowledgeable and offered a fair price for work to be performed. We ended up going with another company but only due to the fact that we needed specialized equipment to perform the job, otherwise we would have chosen Medina.

When I called initially, he answered the phone with no greeting - just, "Can I call you back?" When he did call back that evening, he seemed extremely casual, like he wasn't that interested in earning my business. I explained what I wanted done, and he said he would need to come over to see it, and the only time he could come would be 8 a.m. in the morning, and the only day that would work for him that week would be the next morning. Since I worked nights, this meant that I would be getting up in the middle of my night to meet him. He called me ten minutes before he was supposed to arrive, and kept me on the phone, asking me for directions until he arrived at the house. He was pleasant, and I explained to him what I wanted done. He asked his first question designed to make the job more lucrative for him - who's doing the stone work for the steps? I explained that a family friend was doing it. He feigned interest, said he was looking for someone to work on his fence at home, and how much was my friend charging? He asked me that twice. I got the distinct sense he was trying to figure out what I was willing to pay, or that he was going to try and outbid it. I showed him that I had several bags of instant concrete already, and he said "No, no, no - for a job like this, we need to use concrete from the concrete plant. This stuff will crumble after a short time." But I had had the rest of the porch built with the same concrete a year before, and it still looked great. He told me that it would cost $200 just to have the concrete delivered from the plant. (I called the local plant later, and they gave me an $80 estimate.) He seemed genuinely interested in what I was planning to do with the landscaping and porch, and offered some good suggestions that showed me that he was experienced in concrete work and landscaping. When I asked how he would do the work, he explained that he and his relatives would come over and do the steps in one day. (This seemed impossible to me, since first the forms would need to be built, then the concrete needs to harden, then it needs to be cleaned and polished in order to have stone laid on it.) He gave me an estimate of $1000!! but that was just if the project took one day. It would be an additional $500 or so for each additional day. I asked him if he would do the work, and he said he would supervise. Overall I felt he was money driven and manipulative, and he didn't feel like my small project was worth his time. I ended up getting someone else to do both the steps and the stone work for a $300 flat rate, and it took them three days to do the concrete - one for each step of the process.

We had Medina Concrete come to give us an estimate for a new patio and driveway extension after another contractor walked off our job and left us in a mess. They were professional and courteous, gave us a very competitive estimate, and were compassionate about our situation. They showed up on time, worked h****** a very hot day, and made sure that everything was picked up and that we were 100% satisfied with their work before leaving. Great guys! We would highly recommend them and would go to them first if we ever need more work done.

This was outstanding service and the workers arrived on time and worked very hard and fast until the work was complete. They had a large crew doing the work.

The job was the best concrete work I have seen and I would certainly use Medina Concrete again!

We had worked with Tony about 6 months before and were pleased with the concrete work he did to extend our front walkway. This time was also an excellent experience. He was prompt and collaborative in our discussions. He gave us a quote and stuck to it, being clear about the additional expense when we decided to add the drain and pipe midway through the work. Tony and his crew of 4 showed up bright and early with all their equipment and got right to work. The cement truck came around noon and was used efficiently. The workers have a great team spirit and work very well together with no wasted steps. They are always pleasant and careful of the landscaping, cleaning up beautifully when finished. Extra time was taken to put in a few seams in the concrete at certain points to avoid cracking, and Tony repaired a broken curb while doing the pipe extension to the street. All in all, it was a great experience. They worked hard from 7 AM until 3:00.

Our concrete driveway was laid when the house was built in 1975, and by 2012 every slab was cracked and broken. Some pieces wobbled when you drove over them. The concrete had settled, and was draining rainwater toward the house foundation. I'm not sure of the measurements, but it's approximately 75-80 ft long and maybe 8-10 ft wide? (I did not replace the apron that adjoins the city street curb) Mr. Medina came to look at the job when I was at work, and when we later met to discuss the job, he had already noticed and planned for all the design problems I had - without my having to mention them! I was really impressed with this - because the other estimates I'd received were from people who just measured off the area and gave me a price - none of them discussed the issues I needed addressed! Mr. Medina was extremely professional, punctual, honest and did a very nice job of replacing my driveway. I added about 2 foot of width to the parking pad, and shifted the entire length to one side by about 1 foot. He also built a downspout drain directly into the driveway for some guttering that emptied beside, but not onto, the existing concrete. His crew worked efficiently, and the new driveway looks good, and drains properly! It rained just 2 days after being poured, and I grabbed an umbrella and watched the water flow off the concrete! Great job, Mr. Medina!
