All went well. They came out and gave us a free estimate and a price, we then schedule them to come back out a week later. Everything has worked well ever since.

He was great to work with. We are currently in the process of remodeling our kitchen and plan to use him for the electrical work.

I am very pleased! This was our first service call from a provider found off Angie's List, and I feel like the site worked exactly the way it's supposed to for this one. We actually called three electricians, and Chris was the one who called us back. He was prompt and professional, and he was able to answer my husband's questions and come up with a plan of action over the phone. We were able to schedule an appointment just a few days after the initial call, and David showed up promptly at the scheduled 8:30am appointment. He worked for 2.5hrs, efficiently taking care of our list of problems. He answered my questions, had everything he needed, and cleaned up after himself. I feel much more secure about all our wiring now! If we need an electrician in the future, Chris and David will be the first people we call!

We were and still are very happy with the work Custom Electric of NC did in our Sum Room addition and Kitchen renovation last Fall. We added multiple lighting fixtures in the kitchen including recessed. pendant, and under the cabinet lights which made it a more enjoyable living area. The winter that followed was quite severe with several storms during which we lost electrical power. Fortunately, we had a generator and Custom Electric designed and installed a new generator panel with the electrical circuits we wanted for emergency use. Thus, when we lost power, the generator allowed us keep our central gas furnace, our refrigerator, freezer, and several appliances such as the coffee maker, toaster oven and microwave functioning. While many Greensboro homes were cold and dark, we stayed warm and comfortable. The generator and the generator setup and panel that Custom Electric installed proved to be a godsend. I found Custom Electric on Angie's List and called them. Chris was busy with an inspection, but said I would get a call back in ten minutes. I did, and 20 minutes later, David was at my home. He traced, identified and fixed several issues. (1) Feedback in one switch was traced to a circuit in the panel box. When David separated the circuit, he found that a light switch in the den turned off the refrigerator. He put the refrigerator on a separate circuit, bringing it up to code. (2) Even though I had two switches in the master bedroom that operated nothing, I had a ceiling fan that operated off a pull chain. David connected the fan to one of the unused switches. (3) David fixed a motion light in my back yard that worked sporadically. (4) David checked and identified all unused electrical switches so that I can now feel safe in my home.

Chris started work on the day stated, finished two days later following inspection. Took care of everything including permits. Great resource!

It was a good experience. The man that came out did a variety of trouble shooting for intermittent problem with a smoke detector. I believe he has resolved the issue and I was very satisfied with the service that David provider.

My home is approximately 30 years old and the doorbell started going off by itself. I called Chris with Custom Electric of N.C. because I'd used him before and he came out and diagnosed the entire system including the transformer. He deducted that the transformer was good and tested the front doorbell which tested good but the rear doorbell indicated a short. He removed the rear doorbell and sure enough one of the wires was bare and rubbing against the aluminum siding. Because the wire could not be pulled out enough to find covered wire, Chris used electrician tape to cover this wire and did the same on the other wire and reinstalled the doorbell. Everything now works as it should. We also had a question related to having an additional GFI placed in the master bathroom upstairs in place of a standard plug in receptacle. Chris inspected this receptacle and found that it was already protected by a GFI in the 2nd floor hallway bathroom. I would recommend Chris to anyone looking for fast, reliable and honest electrical service.

When I initially called for a estimate and information I left a message and Chris Sampson called back very quickly. Electricians arrived to do the work on time and worked very hard the entire time on the job. Electricians were very knowledgeable and very helpful in making suggestions for a better outcome. They installed two new outlets in the kitchen and two light fixtures with an on/off switch in the attic where no lighting existed. They cleaned up completely before they left. I will definitely use this company again if the need arises in the future.

Called Chris Sampson on 10/14, told him I'm a new Angie's List member and called because of his high rating. Chris set up an appointment for 11AM today for his crew to repair some faulty outdoor lighting. I verified with him TWICE that they would be there by 11 and that they could call when they were on their way. But that didn't happen. By 12:40PM his people had not shown up and nobody had called. I left the house briefly and returned to find a voicemail from Chris timed at 1:10PM. When I called him back, Chris said his people were on their way but when they tried to call, my phone 'rang and rang and rang, nobody answered, and it never went to voicemail' - AFTER Chris had left a voice mail on the same number! I pointed out that I was expecting his people at 11AM, not after 1 o'clock, and that he KNEW the excuse from his crew was a lie because he'd left me a voicemail himself. I asked him what kind of first impression he thought he'd made, and he agreed it was a bad one. Then he said it was too late to send a crew out today but he might have somebody available tomorrow. I told him that after making a bad first impression, then compounding it by making excuses that were demonstrably untrue, there was no way I'd give them a second chance. The single biggest complaint consumers have about contractors is that they don't show up when they say they're going to be there. My time is as valuable as this contractor's, but clearly he doesn't think so.

The service was very professional. The 2 technicians were cordial and transparent when working within our budget. I would definitely recommend this company's services in the future.

David from Custom Electric arrived on time and went right to work. Originally we had planned to have 4 outlets upgraded but once we saw the quality of the work we asked to have several more done. We ended up hiring for the full day. The work was professional and thorough. The electrician, David, was very focused on his work and had a positve attitude. We plan to use Custom for future projects and would ask for David again as we were very impressed with his work. Our contact with Chris Sampson to arrange the work was very professional and we got what was promised and the experience exceeded our expectations.

6.26.2013 Installation of speakers in all bedrooms / patio went smoothly. Main unit - was difficult as they couldn't get the intercom system to work in other rooms when speaking. Called Customer Support for system - they weren't very helpful but stated maybe there was a wire crossed in one of the rooms or wiring was broken...Since Steven & assistant installed all new wiring - it had to be the unit (microphone), itself. Instructions that came with unit are very difficult to follow / or unclear. Again, the owner Chris, came out & was very complete on giving me details of the issue. Advised Chris we would order new part & he stated to call him when it arrived & they would install for us. His team cleaned up everything & hauled off all the boxes & old unit. 7.2.2013 Called Chris to let him know the new unit came in. Stated someone would be here 7.4.2013 (holiday). 7.4.2013 Sure enough 8:30AM - his team arrived. Installed new unit & everything is working properly. ***They did NOT charge me for the 1.25 hours they were here to install and test every speaker throughout the house to ensure everything was working properly. If you want excellent customer service, call Custom Electric. 1. They do exactly what they say. 2. Job performance by any team that has been here - excellent, very polite, ask questions when they are unsure, & very knowledgeable. 3. Arrive when stated, work, clean up, & leave your house the way they found it - neat.

2 men arrived to do the job and I gave them the inspection report that had been sent to me. They read through it and kept it during the job. At first they weren't quite sure and called their office for guidance. Unfortunately I had to leave for a meeting so my wife paid them on the completion of the job. They would not take the 'Angie's list' coupon for 10% off because they said that was only for work performed over 1 hoiur. Low and behold, the job took exactly 1 hour not a minute less not a minute more...amazing. The electricians did not leave a receipt with my wife, rather unusual, but imperative as this was something on the inspection report and I needed proof that it was completed. I called the company and asked about a receipt and then the gent I had set the appointment with asked what had been done? I told him, and he then asked if the guys knew what they were to do?? I told him they had a copy of the report and gave it back to my wife when they had finished, he had me read the verbiage on the report to him over the phone??? Several hours later I received the receipt.

Mr. Sampson made contact. We setup time for his team to come out & install several items. Zach & Stephen arrived at scheduled time. Showed them everything that needed to be installed & where. Both were very professional & worked through the day with a return on June 7th (Friday). Stephen even cleaned up in the kitchen after installing stove & microwave. If Zach or Stephen was unsure about something they asked questions as well as asking for my input on placement of "track lighting." ***I did learn with ceiling fan displays in store - display "pole" isn't what you get in box. I have slanted ceilings where a 4 inch pole wasn't going to work. Stephen told me they sell just the poles. So I ran out to purchase poles.*** Who knew? Overall - excellent job - great experience. Mr. Sampson even stopped by on first day of project to check in & make sure I was comfortable with his team. I would highly recommend Custom Electric. They called the day before to confirm appointment time of 8:30 am. At 8:35 they drove up the driveway. There were two people in the crew and they got to work immediately, one working in the kitchen, the other in the dining room. Both worked efficiently and quickly, and they did an excellent job of collaborating to work efficiently. For instance, when one would head out to the truck for a tool or something, they checked with the other to be sure they had everything needed, eliminating extra trips in and out. They were friendly, clean, and in every way professional. Before 11:00 they were done. Everything worked perfectly, all work was done neatly, they swept the kitchen floor and carefully cleaned up after themselves. All told, I would recommend them to anyone and would certainly call them again when I need an electrician. Do: Call them Don't: Hesitate!

Chris and Ricky were here when they said they would be , they told me the issues and what they would have to do then went immediately to work and worked until the job was done. I would highly recommend them!

I needed extra current in the garage, obviously, having thrown a breaker many times by then and called a local group for help. They came in the evening after a call they were on and I had about four trucks in my driveway, I felt important! They added a 'direct circuit' I believe is the correct term, with about five guys working on the job at the same time. It was a flurry of activity. In the end I had my extra outlet I needed, after much to-do and I don't throw breakers anymore. They were great.

They responded quickly to our service request to have our solar tubes installed and wired. We set up an appointment for when my husband would be home from work. They (3 people) arrived on time, and the project manager asked if there was anything else we could use from electricians while they were there. My husband mentioned that we would appreciate having easier access to the attic light. The project manager stated that that would only take about an hour and that the whole project, including the solar tubes, would take about 2 and 1/2 hours. My husband agreed, as we already paid for 2 hours of work through an Angie's List Daily Deal of $99 for 2 hours of work. The project manager then left the 2 employees to do the work. One employee worked on the solar tubes while the other worked on the attic light. After hours, the employee in the attic determined that he was unable to get the switch to work, so he began to help the employee working on the solar tubes. Because they were unable to get the attic project completed and functioning, the project manager had to come back another day to finish the job. We scheduled it on a day when my husband had a day to work from home, but we informed the project manager that it was possible that my husband would be called into work and asked if we should try another day. He agreed to that day. My husband did get called in, so we had to cancel that completion work that morning. The project manager had to come back another time. We are disappointed that the project took much longer than what we were orally quoted; the project manager called and emailed us recently to explain that electricians typically bill by man hour, so since we had 2 employees here, we were billed for each of their hours. He also explained that he gave us a break in the billing and that their prices are really relatively low as compared to other electricians. We just wish we understood this process and the billing standards before we agreed to the attic project. This was our first experience hiring electricians, so we didn't know how the billing worked or that the quote of hours is really just an estimate. On a positive note, we appreciate that the employees wanted to do the work right. My husband strongly believes that both employees should have worked on each project together rather than separately to have helped complete the projects quickly. On another positive note, the project manager and employees were professional and clearly wanted to do a good job. My husband reiterated as I'm typing this that he is pleased with the work they did, but we are not pleased with the amount of time it took. Now that we have some experience an knowledge in how the charges work, we will know what to ask next time. I also want to mention that the project manager has contacted us recently and clearly wants us to be happy and repeat customers. I appreciate his efforts to explain the process and to try to appease our concerns. I believe this is a good company overall.

A simple job, they did it efficiently and quickly. They arrived when scheduled. Their communication prior to the service call was very good and much appreciated by us. For future work I will definitely call them for an estimate and opinion.

It doesn’t require anymore electrical usage. It seems to be working so far, but we have only had it for about a month. I liked that he gave a solution that didn’t require his company to come out.
