very quick to come out and look at the damage and within a day, had a written estimate as to the cost including any possibility of additional cost once work was started.

Chris and his employees did an excellent job. They were conscientious and professional throughout the entire process. I am very pleased with the results!

My husband and I met with Chris Sampson several times for an addition project that would at a 2nd story to our home and house a master bathroom, a walk in closet and a sitting room off of the master bedroom. Mr. Samson was professional and showed expertise with the planning of this project. He was friendly and pleasant to deal with. We believe he would have done a good job with our project. We chose not to use his company for the project because of the final quote that he gave to us. Our initial quote for the project was in the high 70ks and so we met with him to come up with a "plan B" because this was out of our budget. The "plan B" plan only saved about 7k dollars. Another company that was giving us a quote for this project quoted the original plan as $55k. We chose to go with this company because we had equal confidence in them and were saving $20k! I would recommend Chris as a company to get a quote from and if he meets you budget, to go with him. However, we were disappointed in his estimate.

Chris came out to my home to look at options for adding to our deck, a patio or expanding our current screened in porch. He spent a lot of time looking at our yard and our options. He provided great ideas and pointed out things to consider. He was very professional, knowledgeable and creative. We have not decided what we will do yet, but I would not hesitate to call Chris and have him quote or work on a project.

Custom Construction and had to add framing and roof sheathing to complete valley to rake. They installed ice and water shield in the uncovered valley. After several weather delays they came out and finished the job in less than one day. We are very happy the job that Chris did and the roof is not leaking. Chris was very professional in every aspect of the project and we have contacted him again to give us another quote on some work to be done on the inside of our house.

They called back and I repeated what I wanted to have done. He told me they had plenty of business and that it's on the edge of our service area. He told me they're not in Jamestown in anymore and have moved to Summerfield. He told me they had no interest in giving me a bid. I was disappointed in this.

We were very happy with the work and their prices were reasonable.

We had some plumbing redone and needed drywall installed and patched around the new pipes before wallpaper could be hung. I was afraid this was too small of a job for anyone, but Chris called promptly with interest. I didn't really know what I was talking about, but when he suggested 2 things that our designer also mentioned, he was instantly credible. He quoted a reasonable price over the phone, scheduled his repairmen, and confirmed everything in writing. The repair team was on time, polite, and honest, and they did a perfect job. Chris called to make sure all went well. It was a perfect experience, and I will call again for our next project.

He was very professional. He took a lot of measurements and put a plan together, which cost a fee. We have an appointment set up in January to go over the plan. We look forward to hearing from him soon.

We never had any work done because it was going to be too extensive. They would have had to tear out the whole bathroom.

After seeing the rave reviews for this company on here, we were very interested in having them provide a quote for a remodel job we are about to tackle. We are VERY disappointed. We have left numerous voice mails over the period of a month and have never received a call back. Not sure how people review their work when they don't return calls. We are moving on to find another contractor.

Chris the contractor was very nice and professional, yet some of his crew needed more supervision from him. One of his electrician was inappropriate with comments made to a family member. Once I complained to Chris, he immediately dismissed that crew member from the job. If he had been present more often perhaps this may not have happen. Overall, I would hire this contracter again.

I would suggest more care be taken on behalf of the home owner and work crew that care be taken to cover furniture, etc. Close off areas to alleviate as much dust and debre . Custom Construction has made every effort to do the job I needed done and I am very grateful for these efforts. He was always available to answer questions and stayed on top of the work being done.

The people at Custom Construction were great. Chris came out right away and gave me an estimate. The wild card was how much siding was damaged and needed to be replaced. While it was more than expected. The carpenters made and extra effort to find siding that matched the existing siding which was no longer available. The painter who did the house washing knew exactly how the house needed to be cleaned. This was a nice surprised since other people didn't know how to do the cleaning and simply were going to do the standard pressure washing. The painter also did a fantastic job on the painting. Between the carpenter and the painter you couldn't tell where the siding had been replaced. The interior doors were replaced with out any problems. The whole group from Chris on down wanted to make sure I was happy with the job and when problems were uncovered, they got in touch me immediately with options so we could the problems resolved quickly. As a result the work went smoothly. There were costs that weren't covered by the initial estimate, but this is common when you are making repairs to thing you can't see. Chris and his people made sure I knew what the nature of the problems were and that I was happily with the solution and costs. I was ready for additional cost as I knew there would be unknown damaged. This important issue to remember when the work is simple repair or a complete remodel. I would definitely use Custom Construction in the future. They made sure that the work when smoothly and quickly even with all of the rain we were having.

We contacted Chris to quote several household jobs we have "accumulated" over the past few months. The first was to replace rotting doors to our deck. We wanted something special since we had invested quite a bit for a large deck. We also wanted the doors to swing out instead of in. After discussing several options, we chose one with blinds embedded in the glass. Chris was forthcoming with a speedy and quite reasonable quote. He ordered, supervised delivery, and installed the doors. They are beautiful. His crew was outstanding, punctual, respectful and NEAT. We are very choosy about workers in our home and were very pleased with all aspects of the installation. Chris was diligent in inspecting the job upon completion and made sure everything was in order. We intend to use Custom Construction and Renovation for several more projects on our "to do" list and recommend this company without reservation.

He called me back on the 14th and I told him at that time we were waiting on two other estimates so no thanks.

I have a very mixed review of this company. I hired them to sheet rock over some popcorn ceilings, paint some bi-fold doors and some ceilings in my home. The owner came out to do the estimate and I felt that he was very professional and took pride in his company so he gets an A. The subcontractor that came out to do the work on the other hand was not. While the ceilings ended up looking fine, the sub was not very professional in the way that he handled things. I have since learned that he is no longer working for the company because Chris did not feel that he properly represented the company. I can say that Chris is a very conscientious owner that does want to make sure his customers are happy and he did what he could to make things right.

Lets just say that if I had known it would be this painless, I would have done this a long time ago. Chris is a professional in every since of the word. The amount of work I needed done was daunting. Chris took the time to go with me to pick out cabinets, floors, countertops, he took one step at a time so it was not so overwhelming. He & his staff were always prompt & followed through with everything. Plus everything was cleaned up before they left for the evening. Because this was a big job, & time consuming, I got to know his team pretty well. I was always extremely comfortable with them and felt very free to leave my house when necessary. Actually sometime I would be gone longer & have Zack would lock up for me. And did I mention the workmanship? These guys take real pride in their work. They like perfection. And the result??? The kitchen is more beautiful than I could have imagined.

It went great. Chris sent a team out and they arrived right on time. Told me how much the hourly rate was going to be and they spent about 2 - 2 1/2 hours. They took care of all the problems and then the owner follow up behind to insure everything was completed and the level of service was what he promised. Outstanding job.

We have hired Custom Construction & Renovations on several occasions for handyman-type work and have been pleased with the results. When we saw the Big Deal for $299-General Contractor for A Day, we decided to hire them to paint our kitchen and powder room. THIS REVIEW IS ONLY ABOUT THIS PARTICULAR EXPERIENCE. Chris came over to give us an estimate, discuss the process for choosing and purchasing primer and paints, and schedule the days of service. As usual, Chris was very professional and on time, which counts a lot for us. The workers arrived on time on the scheduled days, and over the course of two days prepped, primed, and painted. We were given an opportunity to look over the paint job before the workers left. Unfortunately, we did not start seeing some "problem areas" until after the workers were gone. We called Chris, and with no hesitation he offered to send a worker back to fix the problems. We ended up fixing the problem areas ourselves, however, because we changed our minds on a small strip of ceiling color and didn't want to be charged for making the change. Since we were going to repaint the small strip of ceiling, we figured we might as well do the rest. What were the problem areas? Wall areas that were in tight spaces or behind moving pieces (e.g., wall space shown only when the powder room medicine cabinet was opened) were not painted. We also had to remove small sprays of paint from our stainless steel appliances. It's been approx. six months, and now some of the paint in the kitchen area is cracking. Not sure what we'll do about that. In future, we will probably stick to hiring Custom Construction & Renovations for handyman-type work (and we do plan to contract for their services again!) and leave painting for professionals that specialize in painting.

Over all was a nice job. Very professional, neat, clean and would recommend again.

Chris met with me several times before we actually began the construction. We decided on a date and it began right on time. The crew came every day early and worked hard until they left - sometimes late to make sure they finished on time. We will definitely call on these guys in the future.

When we first had this company give us a quote on adding a porch to the back of our house, they noticed that we would probably have to move our septic system to meet state requirements. Upon hiring this company, they made all the arrangements for us to meet the state requirements in regard to our septic system as well as supervise the actual work. They encountered a rainy season during this project and had to improvise so that they could still work in the red clay and keep the mess to a minimum. They even powered wash the deck and porch to get rid of any red clay that still made its way onto the wood. All work went smoothly dis-spite any changes we made and the impossible rain that was encountered during this project.

We found them on Angie's List. His name is Chris Sampson, and he is very good. We were happy. I got three estimates, and only they listened to what I wanted. The estimates ranged from $4500 to over $9000 for the same exact thing. Our overall experience with them was excellent. Their price and quality was very good. Their responsiveness was excellent. Their punctuality and professionalism were very good.
