Mr. Keene walked us through certain steps to confirm the problem (dead pump) and provided useful information about how to handle the situation until he got there. Mr. Keene arrived when he said he would, performed the work in a timely and cost-efficient manner, and was very professional. If you are in need of septic tank repairs/service, you can be comfortable that this provider's high marks on Angie's List are accurate.

They kept putting us off and delayed the start of a construction project we had planned by weeks! I called Keene and they were out within 2 days! They were efficient, friendly, and the cost was what we were quoted. I will definitely use them when it comes time to have the tank pumped!

 + -1 moreCalled Keene for an appointment, scheduled one for following week. Mr. Keene arrived on time. Measured the sludge in the septic tank and then dug up reservoir (Found the exact spot, so very small area of the yard had to be disturbed) measured sludge in it as well. Determined it would be best to go ahead and empty both. Did the job quickly and professionally. Place dirt/sod back over reservoir. Will definitely use his services again.

 + -1 moreWe are new to Angie's list, so this review is a bit after the fact but we wanted to post it as we had a good experience with Mr. Keene. We were given his name from our realtor when we purchased our house. We had no idea when or if the septic tank at the house had ever been emptied, so we felt it was best to just make an appointment and have it done. Called Mr. Keene. He came out two days later. I had no idea where exactly the septic tank was. We had paperwork from the sale of the house that told us where the lines were, so we had some indication, but the yard is an acre large, so there were a lot of possibilities. Mr. Keene found exactly where he felt the tank was located and began digging. He was right on the money ! He opened it up, emptied it and put back all the dirt and grass. No problems. He was quick, efficient and answered all my questions about proper use/care of a septic tank (never lived in a house with one before). He gave us a magnet with his company name, phone number and the date of our service on it. We have it on the refrigerator to remind us when it is time to call him again. Hope he is still here when that time comes. Thank you Mr. Keene and Tom for recommending him.

Description of Work: Jimmy pumped our septic tank, which was 15 years old. Since he was working on some larger jobs, presumably fixing or installing septic tanks, we had to wait about one week to get our tank pumped as it wasn't an emergency. However, he was able to come within the window of time specified, and arrived right on time.

 + -1 moreCalled on Monday, he came out on Monday. The fellow (Jimmy) dealt with my wife, and was very polite and courteous. The job was done quickly, and at a fair price. Absolute minimal problem to the yard, it was obvious he took care. He did not oversell, and provided accurate advice (e.g., empty septic first and see if that solved problem). As far as I'm concerned, Angie's list is meant for two purposes: 1) help you avoid the really bad ones, and 2) help you to find the ones like this fellow. And the ones like this fellow deserve our business.
Description of Work: Noticed a discharge in the back of the yard that was an obvious septic problem on a Sunday. Called Keane Septic on Monday morning, they arrived by Monday afternoon. He noted the problem, and suggested the smart first step was to empty the septic tank. This service was needed. He provided helpful advice on preventing the problem again, and said to call if the problem was not solved by the septic service (which it has turned out to be). Was very courteous in dealing with my wife (who would not be knowledgeable on septic tank or drain field problems).

Gave suggestions for another service he couldn't perform. Put back the sod so that the area looked as untouched as possible. Collected his payment. He was very personable and respectful.

 + -1 moreGreat! Very professional. Put down a tarp, dug down to septic tank, pumped out contents, scraped bottom and sides of tank, replaced cap and recovered tank with dirt from on top of tarp. He cleaned up his tools and hoses and left everything very neat and clean. I highly recommend him.

 + -1 moreOur septic tank had not been pumped out since we purchased our home 26 years ago! Fortunately, we were not experiencing any problems and wanted to have it pumped before we did! We contacted Chuck Keene Septic Tank Pumping and 2 days later, he was at our home to do the work. We were not sure where the tank was, he found it in no time. He opened it up and we were probably inches from being completely full of a 1,000 gallon tank. Jimmy Keene went to work and spent an hour pumping the tank out. He replaced the sod he removed to get to the lid, right back where it belonged. There was no mess anywhere. I stood with him the entire time asking questions and he answered every one of them. Super guy. I thought the price was very reasonable especially considering the time he spent to empty the completely full tank! We are now on a 3 year reminder list and we have his refrigerator magnet should we need any service before then. I highly recommend his service.

 + -1 moreI knew my septic tank was overdue to be pumped out. I contacted Chuck Keene Septic Tank Pumping about 9 in the morning. By noon it was pumped out! I looked in the tank and could see the bottom which I think is as much as you can ask. The tank was closed and the grass put back to my satisfaction.

Description of Work: I contacted Chuck Keene Septic on Monday, June 11th to schedule an appointment to look at my septic tank. Although he could not come out on Monday, June 11th the company did call me back and schedule a time with me for Wednesday, June 13th. My alarm on my septic tank was continuously going off and causing the breaker to trip OFF! This was happening approximately every 2 months for almost 6 months!!!! I had NO IDEA what the problem was so I search for a reputable septic company via Angie's List and selected Chuck Keen Septic Tank - based upon the reviews/comments (Grades were all A's). Mr. Keene came out to my home and looked at the breaker box and receptical (used his electricial gaget to determine how many volts the receptical was displaying). The reading on the receptical box reflected 110 volts but the actual pump was 220 volts. Basically, whomever installed my pump did not install the right amount of voltage.! My septic pump is a 220 pump which requires at least 220 volts but for WHATEVER REASON SOMEONE INSTALLED 110 VOLTS!!!!! This wasn't smart at all! Keep in mind I have only been in my home for approximately 3 years so I have no idea who installed the pump and the house was built in 2003. Mr. Keene suggested that I hire an electrician to come out and upgrade my voltage to 220 and also install a double pole breaker with the appropriate A. He showed me what should be done and went through EVERYTHING with me! I then showed him all the water that was in my back yard and he assured me that it had nothing to do with the septic pump because the tank had not overflowed. So he indicated that I should call someone out to unclog the drain in my yard. He provided me with a reputable company called Able Sewer and Drain located in Greensboro, NC. Now here is the good part!! HE DID NOT CHARGE ME ONE DIME!!!!!! YES I SAID IT AND PLEASE BELIEVE ME I WAS SHOCKED! HE SAID TO ME - NO CHARGE!!!!!!! He wanted me to call the people he referred to get the problems taken care of. NOW THAT IS WHAT YOU CALL HONESTY AND GOOD SERVICE! How many people do you know that will come to your home and investigate a problem and not charge you!!!!! I personally can not think of many!!!! I would definitely recommend CHUCK KEENE SEPTIC TANK TO ANYONE!!!!
