I hired Williams Tree & Stump Service to have some trees cut down and grind one stump. He did a great job with the trees, but a horrible job grinding down the stump. Prior to him leaving, he said call me if the stump needs to be grinded down more. After days of rain I raked the mulch from the stump and noticed a lot of the stump was still there. I called Andy and was told he would be here when it dries up from the rain. No show. Next I sent him a text, no response. Called again and Andy said I have you on the calendar and he would be over on Friday between 1130-1230. Of course no show again. Called Andy again and now his phone is acting up. Very unprofessional.

Work done summer of 2019. Andy gave me a good price. He arrived about when he said he would and he and his crew took down the tree. He came back and removed the stump, but ended up missing a huge root that was under the debris that was created by the main stump removal. He kept promising to return to finish the job and never did. While I was writing this review a couple weeks ago, I texted him again and he promised he'd be here last week. Again, he never showed and didn't text me. I took several hours and, using a chainsaw and axe, removed a small upper section of the root. I'm hoping it'll rot and that grass I just put in will grow. Very disappointed.

Toward the end of the day on 04/04/19 and before felling the 3 trees I agreed to have removed, he insisted that additional trees needed to come down. He would not give me an estimate for the additional work claiming he could not tell how many would have to come down. This unscrupulous business man convinced me that I was in danger of these trees falling on the house. He claimed that he would accept a charge card, but later insisted on cash (claiming he had to pay his crew). His handshake is worthless, as he is not a man of his word. Andy Williams, has not returned my messages, emails, and has not accepted my Certified letter; another Red flag about this unethical businessman. Before hiring him I told him I needed permission from my HOA, to which he replied "not a problem, I will give you a letter telling your HOA that these trees were damaged and needed to come down." As of this date, I have not received this letter. He also has not sent me a receipt for the monies I paid him, which he also promised to do. I feel that he grossly overcharged me for dropping 6 skinny trees, and not taking them away. He left them on our lawn, in our natural areas, blocked my mailbox and community easement. Plus the stumps he ground are still above grade, so now I have to hire a reputable business to finish his work. A "leopard does not change it's spots" ... I would not have hired him had I seen the story about him on WRAL's 5 On Your Side, dated February 14, 2011 ... my bad. My intent at this point, is to warn others about this unethical businessman, to save them from financial hardship and the ongoing stress and humiliation of having been scammed. Please beware that he also has a firewood and landscape business.

It was great! The stumps were ground up so fine that I could use them to put on my plants. Mr. Williams also gave me a tree agreement in which I could pay half now and half later, which I thought was convenient.

Called Mr. Williams initially for firewood which we have done before. Asked him to look at several dead trees in our back yard and give a quote to drop them. We were pleased with the price and asked when he could do the job, he said he would do today. He left to get equipment came back and did a great job! He is very knowledgable about trees and plants. Gave us very good information. I would call him back and recommend him.

Received prompt attention and good price for tree cutting and tree debris removal and at that time agreed that within 2-3 weeks they would come back to grind and remove the tree stumps. This was on 3/22/2014 and after numerous calls/texts/reschedules.....I still have my stumps in the ground with no further responses or contact since the first of May!!!! I am now working with a different "reliable" tree service!!!!! Their unresponsiveness and unreliability has tarnished the initial good work!!!!!!

He arrived with one other gentleman on time and give us a free estimate. The quote was $400.00 to cut four trees down that were next to our newly built home. The price did seem a little high since it didn't include stump grinding. BUT, these very old and very tall water oaks were between to homes and near both concrete driveways with those hubs at the end of the drive that hold the wires to your cable/phone and such; so I agreed. They took down all four trees safely, in a timely manner and cleaned up the mess. He was respectable, well mannered and personable with my family.

They did a lovely job. They were prompt and came on time. I would use them again in the future if needed.

My neighbor was having a stump taken out this morning so I asked if he would bring the gentleman by to give me an estimate on the work I needed to have done. I was so impressed with this young man (Andy Williams)! From the time I first shook his hand I could tell he's good people. He was very fair and clear in negotiating up-front what would be done. And I was delighted he would be able to take care of it today. Watching him work was amazing! He really knows how to "read" a tree and shape it up or take it down safely. Andy's level of service was above and beyond what I expected. He's obviously more interested in building repeat business than in making a fast buck. I will definitely be calling him back.
